IAF Strikes in Gaza
After Attack on Ashkelon

Arutz Sheva [Israel], by Elad Benari

For the second time in two nights, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) launched an airstrike on terror targets in Gaza on Sunday night. According to an IDF statement, the airstrikes targeted a terrorist center and three weapons storage sites in northern Gaza. Also targeted was a terrorist center in southern Gaza. Direct hits were identified and all aircraft returned safely to their bases, the statement said, adding that the airstrikes were in retaliation for recent rocket attacks on southern Israel. “The IDF will not tolerate attempts to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers, and will operate against anyone who uses terror against the State of Israel,”

Comments:
So, what did 0bama have to say about Iraq and ISIS after he let the five worst terrorist go from GITMO? I´d believe, "Allah Akbar," on his prayer mat since it´s clear he´s working militarily against American interests at home and abroad. The Israelis shoot back immediately, with no apologies.

Iraqi Military Out of Hellfires

The Iraqi military ran out of Hellfire missiles six days ago, and though the U.S. is rushing more missiles into the country, Iraq has only two modified Cessna aircraft to launch them in their battle against the radical Islamic militia ISIS. ISIS has captured 28 tanks and shot down three helicopters, a significant percentage of the government force, and the militia killed an entire Iraqi Security Force brigade in the last couple of days at the border with Syria, which ISIS now controls. The losses have left the Iraqi military with no offensive capability, and no real air force. With the brigade at the border at Al Qaim wiped out, ISIS now controls

Boston University’s Episcopal chaplain, the Rev. Dr. Cameron Partridge, is set to preach at Washington National Cathedral Sunday, June 22, as the first openly transgender priest to do so. According to Time Magazine, Partridge will be a guest preacher at Canterbury Pulpit as part of the cathedral’s celebration of LGBT pride month. Time reports that the Right Rev. Gene Robinson, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop, will preside at the service, and there will be “readings and prayers from members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.” The AP reports that the Very Ref. Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman is intent on expelling the United Nations special envoy to the Middle East, Robert Serry, after authorities learned that he sought to transfer tens of millions of dollars in aid to Hamas, Channel 2 reported on Saturday. If Liberman has his way, Serry, the Dutch diplomat whose official title is United Nations special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, will be declared by the Israeli government as persona non grata. According to Channel 2, Liberman plans to convene a special high-level conference with Foreign Ministry officials in Jerusalem who will decide which steps, if any, are to be taken.

Washington - Three U.S. troops and a working dog were killed by a bomb blast on Friday in southern Afghanistan, a U.S. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. No information was immediately available about the incident. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, or ISAF, in Afghanistan said in a statement three service members died following an improvised explosive device attack. ISAF did not provide the nationality of the victims. Uber may not be worth

When Uber, the app that pairs drivers with those seeking rides, completed a round of financing earlier this month that gave it a $17 billion valuation, jaws dropped across Wall Street. The tech startup has grown 6,000 percent since 2010 — making it the most valuable private tech startup. These warnings signs include regulatory push-back from cities and questions about its ability to ensure its drivers are licensed and insured. For example, California legalized ride-sharing last year, yet the state still finds itself butting heads with Uber over some basic violations — such as drivers not being licensed.

Washington - The Pentagon is restructuring a $3.48 billion contract with Boeing Co for management of the troubled U.S. homeland missile defense program, said two sources familiar with the situation. The system, which faces a critical test on Sunday, has failed to hit a dummy missile in five of eight tests since the Bush administration rushed to deploy the system in 2004 to counter growing threats by North Korea. It has not hit a target since 2008. (Snip) The program, long a political football for U.S. lawmakers, remains the only U.S. defense against long-range missiles that could carry chemical, biological or nuclear warheads.

Egypt Has a Sexual Violence Problem

Cairo - There is a fierce battle raging in Egypt, and it’s not the one between Islamists and military rulers — the two factions that dominate most coverage of my country these days. The real battle, the one that will determine whether Egypt frees itself of authoritarianism, is between the patriarchy — established and upheld by the state, the street and at home — and women, who will no longer accept this status quo. (Snip) Last week, Human Rights Watch released a report on what it has called an “epidemic of sexual violence” in Egypt. A few days later, yet more sexual violence took place at a march against sexual violence.

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s traffic safety push yielded perhaps its most significant change early on Friday, when the State Legislature approved a plan to reduce the default speed limit in New York City to 25 miles per hour. Now comes the hard part: retooling the highly choreographed traffic dance in a city of 14,000 taxis, 12,700 signalized intersections and 6,000 roadway miles. The city will have some time. The reduction from 30 m.p.h. cannot begin until 90 days after Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signs the bill into law. (A spokesman said Mr. Cuomo was expected to do so.) In the interim, transportation officials have begun plotting the details of the change,

Detroit - After passionate debate over how best to help break the deadlock between Israel and the Palestinians, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) voted on Friday at its general convention to divest from three companies that it says supply Israel with equipment used in the occupation of Palestinian territory. The vote, by a count of 310 to 303, was watched closely in Washington and Jerusalem and by Palestinians as a sign of momentum for a movement to pressure Israel to stop building settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and end the occupation, with a campaign known as B.D.S., for Boycotts, Divestments and Sanctions.

Washington - US intelligence agencies have made a fifth attempt to extend their bulk collection of American telephone records – more than a year after the controversial practice was first revealed by National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden. Despite repeated calls from Congress and President Obama for the mass gathering of private US phone records to be banned, a court has approved the request in secret, allowing the NSA to continue collecting metadata until 12 September 2014. In a joint statement released late on Friday afternoon, the justice department and director of national intelligence, James Clapper, said it was necessary to

I have been listening all week to TV pundits lamenting that Lois Lerner’s hard drive has been destroyed, and therefore her e-mails are lost. This is simply not the case. I never cease to be amazed at the lack of understanding of how the e-mail system works. When you write an e-mail, it goes to your server to be sent to the person you e-mailed. Your server keeps a copy of that e-mail, and of all your e-mails – sent and received. When you create all the folders in your e-mail program that you use to save e-mails in...these are also

The Obama administration’s claim to have been surprised by the wave of children flooding over out borders may turn out to be another political lie of the year. Sundance of Conservative Treehouse noticed a very peculiar advertisement: On January 29th of this year, the federal government posted an advertisement seeking bids for a vendor contract to handle “Unaccompanied Alien Children“. Not just any contract mind you, but a very specific contract – for a very specific number of unaccompanied minors: 65,000. • Why would DHS and ICE be claiming “surprise” by the current influx of unaccompanied minors on the border

The White House said Mr. Obama and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto discussed “a regional strategy” to address the surge of unaccompanied children coming from Central America, through Mexico, to the U.S. With thousands of children trying to enter the U.S. illegally in recent months, Vice President Joseph R. Mr. Ryan’s ire was triggered by the suggestion of one of the Democrats that Mr. Koskinen
