Steve King: Labrador too ´pro-amnesty´
The Hill [DC], by Cristina Marcos

The Puerto Rico-born Labrador was part of the "Group of Eight" talks in the House last summer to craft a bipartisan immigration reform bill. But Labrador, one of the most conservative members of the House departed the group due to disagreements over how to pay for immigrants´ healthcare. King said Thursday that he would not support any candidate for a leadership slot that had any record of supporting "amnesty" for immigrants in the U.S. illegally. "In all of the leadership positions that are here, I will not vote in the affirmative for any candidate who has advocated for amnesty," King said. King and

Labrador was born in Puerto Rico. He came to America in 1980 as a 13 yo. His mother changed parties when she arrived in Las Vegas to vote for Ronald Reagan. He´s pro free market, pro freedom, pro America. We really need to keep these people out. I´m so sick of this. Immigration reform is not in and of itself amnesty. Citizenship does not have to follow. Border security such as that which was put in place in the Yuma corridor can stop the influx of children (dreamers). Have you heard of any Dreamers in the Yuma corridor. Labrador, Rubio, Jindal, Martinez should be the future of the party. When Jefferson wrote we hold these truths to be self evident, he meant them for everyone. Every one of our god´s children. This debate is ridiculous. It´s not even a debate it´s a two bit shouting match.

If you love Steve King, and you love Raul Labrador, this will be a quandary. It certainly doesn´t help Labrador´s chances of winning, which were already negligible. I don´t believe Labrador wants to flood the country with illegals. But King sure does.

If you read Labrador´s own remarks, he believes he has no chance of winning. But didn´t want anyone to be an unopposed shoo-in. Wanted to stir things up, provide some competition.

Advocating “immigration reform” that merely legalizes illegal aliens without a path to citizenship sounds and feels like a noble compromise. But be careful. It is the “bait” in the classic bait and switch. It might be the compromise that well-meaning Republicans and kind-hearted Christians fall for, but it is NOT what America will get.

We have already seen what the Obama administration does with laws it doesn’t like. It just refuses to enforce them. It refuses to secure the border. It releases illegals into the population with no attempt to track them. If illegals are granted legal status but with no path to citizenship (wink, wink), the Obama folks will just not keep the records. Newly legalized illegals will just be mixed into the pool of legal immigrants, with no distinction made. So much for “no path to citizenship.” It will be a fiction. EVERYONE will be on a path to citizenship. That is the switch.

Oh, and we CAN deport 14 million illegal aliens. We’ve just never bothered trying. Let’s get started.

Raul Labrador is the future of the Republican party. he´s a very principled man who worked first as an immigration attorney, He knows the flaws and he knows the principled path forward. Don´t categorize/color people in simplistic language regarding very complicated issues. We need immigrants (we all were at one time) but we need them for the right reasons: skills, abilities to assimilate, love of America. Labrador is a really awesome legislator. VP material in my humble.

Al Gore has a plan for America. But in order to get the nation on board, he’s got to convince us that’s he’s super cool. But Mr. Gore also has a problem. That is, he’s about as cool as Baghdad. And, well, writing 7,071 words in Rolling Stone magazine — a magazine that maybe used to be cool, according to VH1 (but now, no one reads) — isn’t really going to convince a soul, as our in-depth video investigation exposed:(Snip for video) Still, Mr. Gore tries. Michelle Obama is trying to save the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. And who isn’t for healthy and hunger-free kids, right? It turns out that it was a struggle for her and she’s got an idea about how the government can make it easier for others. In an interview with MSN’s Healthy Living, she made two particular statements that deserve further comment. Before coming to the White House, I struggled, as a working parent with a traveling, busy husband, to figure out how to feed my kids healthy, and I didn’t get it right. Our pediatrician had to pull me aside and point out some things that were going wrong.

Hillary Clinton´s minions are hard at work assembling a political machine and fine tuning it for another go at the White House. Mrs. Clinton is doing her part preparing for a run as well, churning out a bland memoir about the "hard choices" she faced as secretary of state and coyly positioning herself (again) as the inevitable nominee of the party. But after the troubled beginning to her book tour, we´re beginning to see the reasons why Hillary may eventually decide to pull the plug on a 2016 presidential run. Here are five: 1) She´s just not that good at campaigning. If the last two gaffe-prone weeks have reminded us of anything about Hillary,

Oakland, Calif. — California has a lot of coastline. So why all the fuss about the drought? Desalination to the rescue, right? Not quite. The largest desalination plant in the Western Hemisphere is currently under construction in Carlsbad in San Diego County at great expense. The price tag: $1 billion. Right now, San Diego is almost totally dependent on imported water from Sierra snowmelt and the Colorado River. When the desalination plant comes online in 2016, it will produce 50 million gallons per day, enough to offset just 7 percent of the county’s water usage. That’s a huge bill for not very much additional water. Desalination is not a new

She came into Baghdad after months in one of the world’s most forbidding deserts, a stoic, diminutive 45-year-old English woman with her small band of men. WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Patent Office ruled Wednesday that the Washington Redskins nickname is "disparaging of Native Americans" and that the team´s federal trademarks for the name must be canceled. The 2-1 ruling comes after a campaign to change the name has gained momentum over the past year. The team doesn´t immediately lose trademark protection and is allowed to retain it during an appeal. Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has refused to change the team´s name, citing tradition, but there has been growing pressure including statements in recent months from President Barack Obama, lawmakers of both parties and civil rights groups.

In what some see as the first step to forcing the Washington Redskins football team to change their name, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday cancelled six federal trademarks of the team name because it´s “disparaging” to Native Americans. “Petitioners have shown by a preponderance of the evidence that a substantial composite of Native Americans found the term REDSKINS to be disparaging,” said the decision. Fans, however, won’t see any immediate change — even if Daniel Snyder’s team eventually loses in court. That’s because all the order will do is eliminate the trademark the team has on merchandise. The Redskins are expected to appeal.
