US aircraft carrier welcomes
PLA aboard, seeks return invite

Hong Kong - The US Navy on Sunday welcomed four members of China´s military aboard one of its aircraft carriers -- and said it hoped to receive a return invite someday. The four People´s Liberation Army members were among guests flown by a C-2 Greyhound aircraft to the USS George Washington for a "VIP visit" before it berths Monday off Hong Kong on a routine call. Tensions are high in the South China Sea and East China Sea as Beijing asserts its sovereignty over reefs and islands also claimed by US allies such as Japan and the Philippines. But Rear Admiral Mark C. Montgomery, commander of the task force headed by the carrier,

Originally, it seemed by the headline that it was the Palestinian Liberation Army (PLA). Either way, 0bama doesn´t seem to worry about terrorist friends or Chinese agents. Free terrorist killers and everything becomes possible for 0bama.

Remember when FDR invited Yamamoto aboard the Enterprise on December 6th 1941?

Yeah, I don´t either. Hmm.

I guess because:

Even though a socialist, at least FDR was on our side.

I´m sure this act of appeasement will be deeply appreciated by the ChiComms and will result in a gushingly sentimental return of affections and a renewed interest in celebrating our shared humanity in a framework of love, disarmament and hatred of all things capitalist. I´m so happy that our fate is in the hands of the whip-smart progressives.

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul is firing back at his party’s interventionist wing, saying those who supported the Iraq war “emboldened Iran,” while freeing President Barack Obama of blame for the current crisis in Iraq. (Snip) “And what’s going on now—I don’t blame on President Obama,” Paul said. “Has he really got the solution? Maybe there is no solution. But I do blame the Iraq War on the chaos that is in the Middle East. I also blame those who wer for the Iraq War for emboldening Iran. Former Vice President Dick Cheney said he wants U.S. troops back in Iraq to halt Sunni militants now conquering large parts of the country and support resistance fighters in Syria. “When we’re arguing over 300 advisors, when the request had been for 20,000 in order to do the job right, I’m not sure we’ve really addressed the problem,” said Cheney on ABC’s “This Week.” Recently, President Obama announced sending 300 special forces troops to Iraq to advise the Iraqi government on fighting back an offensive by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The president, however, insisted the troops would not engage in direct

Four California prisons illegally sterilized 39 women between 2005 and 2011, a new report reveals. The women were sterilized via “bilateral tubal ligation” — a surgical procedure commonly known as “having your tubes tied” — and were part of a larger group of 144 female inmates who underwent the procedure. The report, which was commissioned by lawmakers and conducted by the state auditor, found that 39 of those procedures violated California’s laws regarding inmate medical procedures. The issue boils down to consent. California law carefully lays out the procedure that must take place in order for a female

New York - America is a land of immigrants, but some of its biggest companies are keen to emigrate, driven abroad by high tax rates and America’s “worldwide” system of taxation, which grabs a share of their foreign profits. The preferred method of exit is the “tax inversion”, which uses a cross-border merger—generally one that also has some sort of industrial logic—as the pretext for reincorporating in a more tax-friendly place. Medtronic, a maker of medical devices, is the latest and largest firm to change its nationality in this way. The combined group will be domiciled in low-tax Ireland, the official home of its merger partner,

All that mattered was that he was a man. To say that this development didn’t sit well with the progressive-minded women of this country is an understatement. The South Dakota Republican Party state convention passed a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Barack Obama Saturday. The resolution says Obama has "violated his oath of office in numerous ways." It specifically cites the release of five Taliban combatants in a trade for captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl, Obama´s statement that people could keep insurance companies, and recent EPA regulations on power plants. "Therefore, be it resolved that the South Dakota Republican Party calls on our U.S. Representatives to initiate impeachment proceedings against the president of the United States," the resolution reads. I still think President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, even though for 14 years he allowed his literary agent to circulate a bio blurb stating he was born in Kenya, and even though for many years he attended a church where his pastor friend shouted such things as “God damn America!” I still think that he just pretended to be Kenyan to be cool, to sell books and, perhaps, to get a foreign student scholarship at those colleges from which he refuses to release his transcripts. It’s easy to see why the clip is going viral on the Web. It is one of those rare moments when Congress loses its temper and a major figure says what the American people are thinking. They don’t believe Commissioner John Koskinen is telling the truth. They don’t believe him. Mr. Koskinen protested. No one believed that either. Mr. Ryan’s ire was triggered by the suggestion of one of the Democrats that Mr. Koskinen

The decision this past week by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to rescind federal trademark protections for the Redskins may ultimately tip the balance in the controversy over the 80-year-old name of Washington’s football team. If so, that would be a shame. Not because there’s insufficient reason to consider the name “disparaging to Native Americans,” as the patent office determined. Many of us recoil at the reference to skin color as a team identity. The problem is that the Redskins case is just the latest example of a federal agency going beyond its brief to inappropriately insert itself in

Outwardly, they put on a show of unity — but privately, the Obamas and Clintons, the two power couples of the Democrat Party, loathe each other. “I hate that man Obama more than any man I’ve ever met, more than any man who ever lived,” Bill Clinton said to friends on one occasion, adding he would never forgive Obama for suggesting he was a racist during the 2008 campaign. The feeling is mutual. Obama made excuses not to talk to Bill, while the first lady privately sniped about Hillary. After President Obama spoke about Iraq, Politico posted a story last week that said Democrats were “starting to unite” behind his policy. It reported that party members “from a broad ideological spectrum” supported the decision to deploy 300 military advisers as terrorists threatened Baghdad.
