Katie Couric felt ‘pummeled’ at CBS News,

Poor Katie — get her some Kleenex and a wrinkle-free pantsuit. TV star Katie Couric took such a beating in the press after she jumped ship to CBS she started comparing herself to Hillary Clinton, a new book says. The steep drop in popularity that followed Couric’s exit from NBC’s “Today” show in 2006 left her full of self-pity, according to author Sheila Weller. “In private, Katie — who had recently turned 50 — was now beginning to actively and repeatedly compare herself to the embattled but energized Hillary Clinton,” Weller writes in her new book — “The News Sorority: Diane Sawyer,

I wonder if Katie Couric remembers how nice it felt to be loved by everybody on the Today show. Did she not remember that adoration came from her playing a role of a perky happy nice person on a feel good morning show? Maybe she came to believe that adoration came from actually being a talented nice person and not just from playing, acting like a talented nice person on TV.

Ok, I´m a curmudgeon. When Katie Couric first hit our television screens, she was fine, awfully bright-eyed and perky, but at least not annoying. Now, she´s evolved way past annoying and I have no idea what she has to be unhappy about.

Boo Hoo! So Katie got treated the same way she treated others. Look at what she did to Sarah Palin the first woman to run for VP on the Republican ticket. I watched her stick her finger down her throat behind the first Pres. Bush as he gave her a tour of the WH. She thought she wasn´t being filmed but was being cute. NOT! Can´t stand the woman. She surely didn´t make it on her looks. Hubris is really ugly. Hillary has it; Obama has it; Michele has it; Katie and Diane have it. It brings down the mighty.

I never saw any talent with Katie Couric; she always came across as arrogant, mean-spirited, and showing no class or talent. Like another poster said, she made fun of people whenever she could. The finger in her throat when G. W. was showing her the White house was disgusting and shows what a mean creep she is. I watched her wrinkle her nose in disgust when she read off the names of Sarah Palin´s children. "Where did Sarah come up with these stupid names"? She made fun of Dan Rather and his stand up collar on his trench coat. Katie Couric caused her own downfall with her hatefulness, ignorance, and arrogance. I do not feel sorry for her one bit. She was paid far too much, and she is a sour poor loser to boot.

Say what you will about Katie, and believe me I have, she has made a fortune and lives in luxury because of her leftist world view. A prime example of how life isn´t fair. Just another example of success due to media people in power (leftist by nature) deciding who their mouthpieces are, and keeping them perpetually employed.

TALLAHASSEE — The coming of Independence Day means fireworks season — and the beginning of the institutionalized charade behind their sale in Florida. In the Sunshine State, one does not buy a bottle rocket for recreation; one buys it to scare birds away from farms and fisheries. That’s right: Explosives for pest control. Technically speaking, consumer fireworks are illegal in Florida. But nearly 60 years ago, state lawmakers passed an exception — now the only one of its kind in the United States — for fireworks purchases by farms and fish hatcheries. That’s how vendors, including those in the ubiquitous tents that spring up

WINTHROP HARBOR, Ill. - On Monday morning, the U.S. Supreme Court is expected to hand down its opinion on a case involving a Winthrop Harbor woman which could have a significant impact on the future of public sector unions. Illinois state law allows Pam Harris to work as the full time caregiver for her son Josh, who is severely disabled. She is paid by Medicaid. But when Gov. WASHINGTON—In the Georgetown gated community of Hillandale, residents live in secluded calm governed by some 50 pages of rules banning fences, motorcycles, certain paint colors, tree species and excess dogs and cats (no more than two total per household). On Friday, Rich commended the Club for Growth for putting a lot of money — over $3.1 million to be exact — behind its vocal support of Chris McDaniel in the Mississippi Senate primary. In terms of dollars spent, the Senate Conservatives Fund came in second, pouring over $1.3 million into the state to back McDaniel. Both groups also spent heavily in the three-week runoff election: approximately $650,000 and $250,000 respectively, and, in a race that was conducted largely over the airwaves, that money went mostly to television and digital advertisements, according to Federal Election Commission records. If Hillary Clinton runs for President, she’s still the odds-on favorite because she has the Democratic machine behind her. The conventional wisdom is that the nomination is Hillary’s to lose. If Hillary’s disastrous book rollout and tone-deafness about her wealth are any indication, Hillary might just accomplish the unthinkable of imploding a second time as presumptive nominee. Hillary’s worst enemy is Hillary. There’s only so long you can pretend to be something you are not. Enter Elizabeth Warren.
