Analysis: Arab Winter

Black flags over American tanks, Iraqi heads on public display and women threatened with death should they leave their homes – this is the new caliphate pseudo-state of ISIS, perhaps short-lived, but, while breathing, the worst of all case scenarios for anyone invested in the Middle East. (Snip) We know that ISIS’s current campaign, dubbed Operation Soldier’s Harvest, began in October 2013 with the explicit aim of cementing control of territory for the formation of a caliphate, erasing borders imposed by a colonial West and reimposing strict Shari’a law. With Ramadan approaching on June 28, we can expect ISIS will attempt a

As I continue to maintain, this is all on 0bama as he has nor doesn´t care about a practical military sense. By leaving Iraq, he left the people to be slaughtered, but more important, a country-state for Al Qaeda to live and reconstitute itself in the Middle East. There are other factions in Africa gaining ground. No matter what he does, it will be wrong as his staff are a neutered group of sycophants. And, 0bama, if he has any policy seems to eerily lean to help Al Qaeda and other terrorist regimes. God help US.

"God help us" indeed, OP. Because no one else will, least of all our POTUS who seems to enjoy Muslim victories while disdaining American victories, such as they are these days.

Bush’s devastating choice to crush the state of Iraq has led both to the disintegration of order in that country, and to a timidity in the United States to do anything about the consequences.

It´s Bush´s fault again?

Such a resignation to powerlessness, a fatalistic approach to foreign affairs, has led Syria to the calamitous reality it is today...

Bush was not "resigned to powerlessness". If anything, it was the reverse. While he may have made mistakes, he always did what he thought was best for America, not for Islamists.

But the current situation is clear: an Arab Winter for the region, borderless in its ruthlessness and facilitated by American action somewhere, inaction elsewhere.

An inconsistent foreign policy is as good as no foreign policy. No one trusts us to keep our word under Obama´s reign of terror. They didn´t harbor such doubt under Bush.

Now, Obama is forced to support an Iraqi government ...that supports terrorist activity directed against Israel and the United States.

How to account for such an attitude on O´s part? DIRECT QUOTE: In “Audacity of Hope” Obama writes: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” The quote comes from page 261.

Does anyone believe he was kidding about this? Just look at all his actions plus his own words -- they favor Muslims and Islamic rule. He would love to see Sharia law here and if you think that is not possible, think again.

Too many people are afraid to call him on what he is actually doing rather than what he says he will do. It´s time to strip off the blinders, Democrats, and see who your guy really is and what he wants for America.

This chaos is the direct result of the West being unable to recognize the intentions of evil men and act with enough force to deter them. These bad guys have been telling us for decades what their goal was. Sounds foolish to us, but they are determined to take on the West and establish the caliphate. Obama has enabled and encouraged them to act at this time, but the die was cast.

Failing to take them seriously has been the biggest mistake the West has made. Simply because they hide behind religious rhetoric does not lessen the threat. In fact, they have used that as a most effective weapon against us. The West must decide quickly whether they will make a real stand against these barbarians and frankly, they just don´t seem to have what it takes to get the job done. Half measures will not work. The choices are to step back and let them fulfill their goals or step in with the will to wipe them out once and for all. No one wants to do either. This is a fine mess the West has gotten us into because they would not do what needed to be done after 2001.

Sadly, there is no coalition of world leaders that is going to come together to stop this. The will is just not there. Buckle up, this is going to get far worse. The barbarians are at the gate and it just may not hold this time around.

#2, democrats will never see who their guy really is. That would require that they shed their ideology and their fantasies and admit that they were wrong. Never gonna happen.

I met a woman last weekend who was terrified of global warming and the seas rising, but had no concern at all about Muslims, saying that they were no different than Christians. How do you change the mind of someone like that?

He did attend a Madrassa (Islamic religious school) as a boy in Indonesia but we only know his brother is a Brother and that there are quite a few Brothers in his administration. Poster #6, just to answer your question about the seemingly mindless lady as to understanding what the real threat to US is. While watching FIFA football off the Internet, was shocked by one of the "innocent" comments of the sports announcer from Britain. When an image of the head coach of Costa Rica came up, he said, that being June 14th & the birthday of, the coach began that day as always in solemn silence in remembrance to his hero, Che Guevara. We aren´t the only part of the world fooled by who the "true" enemy is, and usually as we will see, until it is too late.

Tucson, AZ – Immigration proceedings here run more like a conveyor belt than a courtroom. Every weekday, 70 migrants fill up the rows and jury seats of the courthouse. They are bound by shackles at their ankles and wrists. (Snip) When Operation Streamline was first introduced in Tucson in 2008, it gave the busiest corridor of border arrests an industrial-strength solution to processing deportation cases. In a departure from the traditional “catch and release” approach toward immigrants which led to almost automatic deportations, Operation Streamline added an extra layer of criminal convictions and jail time to deter people from ever

Beirut - Jihadists fighting in Syria´s war put to use for the first time on Sunday American-made Humvees that they seized during a lightning offensive in Iraq this month, a monitor said. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, used the armoured vehicles to capture the villages of Eksar and Maalal in Aleppo province, which borders Turkey, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It came after heavy fighting against the Islamic Front and its Al-Qaeda-affiliated ally, the Al-Nusra Front, said the Observatory, a Britain-based group that gets its information from a network of sources on the ground.
