Senate bill doubles
spending on veterans´ health

WASHINGTON -- Spending on veterans´ health care could double in three years under the Senate´s solution to the long waits experienced by thousands seeking medical care at VA hospitals and clinics, according to congressional budget experts. Analyzing a bill the Senate passed overwhelmingly last Wednesday, the Congressional Budget Office estimates the measure would add $35 billion over the next three years to the $44 billion the government now spends annually on medical care for veterans. Both the Senate bill and a House version also passed this past week would dramatically expand government-paid health care. They would require the Department of Veterans

One of the best suggestions seen elsewhere would be to immediately fire10% of the current staff top to bottom via a lottery and repeat every six months until the problem is fixed.

Let us hope that the money actually goes to benefit our veterans and not those fools that have been rewarding themselves at the expense of those vets.

A crisis is a terrible thing to waste and the pigs aren´t about to waste this one either.

The incumbent Democrats will make sure their buddies are rewarded, the Repubicans are afraid to vote against anything labeled help for veterans.

For that kind of money every Vet could have gone on Medicare with a suppliment all paid for, and the VA facilities could have been privatized. Every Vet could go wherever they pleased for medical care.

It isn´t going to do any good increasing the VA budget until you get rid of government Unions. They are one of the main problems and I´ve read that Union leaders have offices at VA facilities.

Gee, go figure why the VA is in a mess and services are being compromised. Incompetent leaders and Unionized facilities and staff equals total inefficiency. How can you treat Vets like this.

Are we children or fools that might believe that like all government screw ups throwing more money at it will fix the problem. Write to your Senators and Representatives to defund and disband the VA and give Veterans a voucher card to go wherever they wish for medical treatment, and use the money you take away from the VA to pay for the new system.

Oh and get rid of the Obama Administration

The demonrat solution is to always throw money at a problem. They are patently too stupid to fix root causes. One would be to fire all the administrators, seize all assets equivalent to the bonuses they got, and pull all pensions.

The Center for American Progress is calling for Congress to ditch the federal gas tax in lieu of a system where drivers pay fees for road construction based on how many miles they travel. The proposed mileage-based system has been controversial in previous transportation funding debates because critics question how government would monitor the traveling habits of drivers without infringing upon their privacy. But the Center for American Progress said Friday that taxing drivers based on how far they drive is a much more sustainable system than the current 18.4 cents per gallon federal gas tax. I met Mirabel in 2011, four years after she had left her home in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, a city reputed to be the murder capital of the world. She, her sisters and mother were terrorized by an alcoholic father who abused them and stole the earnings from her mother’s struggling grocery store to spend on liquor and women. The tipping point came when Mirabel, then 16, confronted her father after a drunken rampage, and he nearly killed her with a machete. When an uncle offered to pay for a smuggler to take Mirabel to the United States, her mother

At a Senate hearing Wednesday, Health and Human Services Acting Assistant Secretary for the Administration for Children and Families Mark Greenberg admitted that, even if the Obama administration knew it was releasing Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) to other illegal aliens, they would do so based on the “totality of the circumstances” that apparently justifies such irresponsibility. However, when pressed by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Greenburg made it clear the Obama administration doesn’t even want to know to whom they are releasing the children, disclosing the reality that HHS does “not verify the immigration status of the individual.” Pressed further by Coburn,

Sen. Lamar Alexander´s (R-Tenn.) primary challenger, Tennessee state Rep. Joe Carr, picked up another national Tea Party endorsement Thursday, the same day he released a new statewide radio ad. The issue at the center of both the Tea Party Patriots’ endorsement and Carr’s new ad is Alexander’s alleged support for “amnesty” for illegal immigrants, a charge Carr has made central to his campaign against the senator. The Tea Party Patriots endorsement praised Carr as a "genuine leader" in the fight against illegal immigration, criticizing Alexander for being one of the 14 Republicans to vote for the reform bill that passed the Senate

Conservative donors fueling the civil war within the Republican Party are showing no signs of surrender, despite recent losses in primaries and mounting criticism that the groups to which they are giving might damage the GOP’s prospects at winning control of the Senate. The top conservative groups — Club for Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund — have spent more than $10 million on ads and direct contributions to endorsed candidates in 2014 so far, but they’ve won only in races where establishment groups were largely on the sidelines or supported the same candidate. From his column in The Washington Times: At the unofficial reported cost of $250 per person per day, President Barack Obama is proposing we spend $1.8 billion “to provide appropriate care for unaccompanied children.” That works out to 19,726 minors for a year.
