Lois Lerner’s “Lost” Emails
National Review Online, by Andrew C. McCarthy

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 6/13/2014 6:43:59 PM

Eliana’s report is just stunning — no matter how many times similar “mishaps” have occurred in this administration. The IRS, like other government agencies, has lots of reasons to maintain emails, so I’m curious about whether they will be similarly informing courts, Congress, litigants, FOIA petitioners, and other people and bodies they must periodically make disclosures and reports to that they’ve lost nearly two years’ worth of agency communications? Or was this just one of those highly, highly unusual computer crashes that affects only the email account of Lois Lerner and any executive branch official with whom she happened to

Comments:
McCarthy asks: "When will this president finally have to answer for the executive branch lawlessness..." That´s what I would like to know. Boehner should get off his rear end and appoint a special committee like in Benghazi. This endless stonewalling and incompetence of the various committee chairmen has to end. All they do is write letters and get lied to and continue to put up with that garbage.

Stunning? Yeah, I guess. Each day I´m more stunned than the last. Iraq is falling to the scum of the earth. What surprises await us?

Lerner should be imprisoned until she comes clean, but the Republican leadership is still in whining mode rather than acting on blatant criminality.

You know - - those e-mails were on the table in the conference room - - all wrapped up and ready to go over to Congress - - when the darndest thing happened.

One of the cleaning ladies - - or maybe it was the rubber band guy - - well one of them thinks that the package is trash.

So - - well - - you know what they do - - they take it and toss it! Can you imagine that? This important package - - all that work - -gets tossed by the night watchman!

Well - - you just know how upset all of us at the IRS are. We work and we work and we work - - and everything gets thrown out by one of the interns.

We´re stunned - - really, really stunned by this. We wish there were something we could do.

I don´t believe for a minute that anything was lost. Any current email system is running on servers using RAID (Random Array of Independent Devices). Essentially, all messages are stored across multiple hard-drives. When one drive fails, the tech would replace it and use parity information to recover the data.

We all know what is transpiring here: this criminal administration has weaponized government and is using it against political opponents. Ask Catherine Englebrecht, or Gibson, or Dinesh D´Souza, et. al.

There are too many back ups for that information to have been lost.
This is a LIE, the information is not lost, it may have been criminally deleted, but it is backed up somewhere.

How many smidgens will it take to break the camel´s back?

It seems the GOP has decided that being a black socialist professing "care" for "social justice" provides total immunity from both impeachment and prosecution, not to mention exposure or even a pretense of accountability.

Surely, this will only encourage criminals (= Leftists) seeking power to run as black socialists professing "care" for "social justice". It´s the sweetest deal there is, no matter how huge and illegal the smidgens.

This looks like Lerner´s 2014 entry to take Zero´s Lie of the Year title, although she still has stiff competition from Susan Rice, Eric Holder, and Zero itself.

In the meantime,
1) Jail Lerner for conspiracy and obstruction of justice, minimum.
2) Jail every IRS IT person until one of them comes clean with the e mails. Same charges as Lerner.
3) Acquire the hard drive in question and have legitimate computer experts review it.
4) Acquire the servers in question.
5) Pass a law allowing all audit victims to pay no penalty whatsoever if they use "I can´t find my records" as an excuse.
6) Jail Zero, Holder, and the IRS Commissioner who kept visiting the WH. Just because.
7) Jail the low level Cincinnati employees until they roll on higher ups. Repeat the process on the higher ups. And so forth.

After reading the comments of people much more knowledgeable than myself regarding computers and how they work, it is obvious that the Obama administration is lying, and why not? They get away with every lie they utter. There is no curiosity by the media to pursue what on its face is untruth. So the Obama administration says the computer crashed and the emails are gone. End of story. Does anyone in the media believe that is just a very convenient happenstance? What about the Republican leadership? Are they swallowing this hook, line and sinker?

The world is spinning out of control both foreign and domestically and I am afraid that the sheer number of Obama scandals that have come to light is overwhelming, and he is using this to his advantage. He is overwhelming the system and therefore, nothing is able to gain traction. Cloward and Priven on steroids. Unfortunately, it seems to be working. People have lost faith in the government´s ability to police itself. It is actively engaging in criminal activity without consequence. The rule of law must be upheld or justice is meaningless. When lawlessness is the order of the day, rule by man is not far behind. That should strike fear into the heart of every patriotic American. When do we get to the point we have a Constitutional crisis our hands.

This gambit of "losing" emails and other correspondence has been used veryo often, mostly by Democrats, who seem to have a nasty habit of getting into situations they need to lie about.

The thing is that when records are destroyed under the guise of computer crashes and other excuses, there really is nothing that can be done about it, unless Republicans want to send people to jail, which they should do.

Hillary´s myriad "I can´t recall" statements fall into the same category. You cannot tell a person, "You must recall" when they lie about their memory.

The Democrats have figured out early and often that not having information is better than telling the ugly truth. And with Democrats, the truth is always ugly.

The DOJ will do nothing about these "lost " emails, we know that. So the GOP is wasting its breath except for one thing: If they bring these people back to testify and repeatedly ask the same questions, making the witness look bad every time they "can´t recall" or have "lost" emails, the witnesses are discredited anyway. Certainly, not to the degree they would be if records didn´t get "lost", but enough of this kind of obfuscation can do some damage.

So I sincerely hope Trey Gowdey is amassing all sorts of information to use against Democrat miscreants. Nobody does it better.

Breitbart has a video in which mr IRS states in March that all the Lois Lerner emails have been archived. Also interesting is a comment from an IT guy saying that all emails were backed up nightly so this ´loss´ is not possible. Why doesn´t the committee interview the IT guys. They know the procedures as well as what orders they´re getting from the IRS to hide the evidence!
Check out Breitbart.

They had to be destroyed. Commoners like us just wouldn´t understand. John Adams said in a letter to Thomas Jefferson in 1816, "Power always sincerely, conscientiously, de très bon foi, believes itself right. Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak." It doesn´t. By the time most of us realize what is happening to our leaders in Government, it is too late too do anything about it. I guess it´s always been that way. It´s the major reason Governments fail and Nations fall - as they always do.

All this lead in just to mention a film I finally watched last night, "Hunger Games." I found it chilling. Jennifer Lawrence is a stunning young actress but the film was still downright depressing - to me, at least. The idea of a super wealthy capitol city ruling the rest of a largely impoverished America with an iron fist somehow struck me as too close to home and a possible portent of things to come.

Good flick, watch it and think about it.

I am ready to bet that there was no data lost from the NSA servers in Utah. This is illustrative of the problem. The actions of Government officials should be transparent and known to everyone but that is hidden. The citizens who are making decisions only for themselves should enjoy privacy but the government knows everything about each of them. If the government can keep track of all this information it should be trivial to back up emails of government officials. Close down both the NSA and the IRS.

There is absolutely, positively no way that those emails could be lost. None. Zip. Nada.

For an organization the size of the IRS, there are multiple backups and archives. Even if someone purges current records, there are backups that can reload all of it if needed.

This is not like someone´s personal home computer being hacked or crashed, which is what they seem to want to imply. There is no way whatsover that those emails can´t be recovered.

People need to be sent to jail for this coverup.

Mccarthy concludes with this question: "When will this president finally have to answer for the executive-branch lawlessness that is an everyday occurrence on his watch?"

The actions of the president and his agency acolytes like Lois Lerneer are deliberate, and most of the MSM and nearly all Democrats will protect him, because they know that if he falls, they all fall.

Nonetheless, the lawlessness of this Administration is so pervasive, and future scandals so predictable, that I think the chances of Zero´s removal from office before the end of his term have risen to about one in three. And rising. Lois Lerner belongs in prison. And the rogue IRS should be eliminated as soon as the tax code can be changed and simplified. With a Republican president, Senate, and House, that process can begin in 2017.

2017 will be too late. The time for taking action is now. The House has held Lerner in contempt. It needs to enforce the contempt citation with the inherent power that Congress has not used since 1935. If they haul Lerner in and incarcerate her until she purges the contempt, she will get the message and so will all the IRS cockroaches who think that their personal philosophies trump our inherent Constitutional rights. Based on my experience as a career Federal prosecutor, once the IRS co-conspirators realize that their game is over and they could actually be held to account for their misconduct, they will trample each other in the stampede to cooperate and get the best deal. If the Republicans remain frozen in the headlights of the Democratic convoy of corruption, the statute of limitations will run on any of the criminal activity in 2009 - 2012. The smug little progressive turds will smile their condescending little grimaces and give us the collective middle finger salute.

The three key figures most responsible for this chaos being pulled off by all the greedy crooks in Washington, are three super rich, highly paid liars in New York City.

You know them, even if you can´t stand watching them.

They are the OTHER SIDE OF STATE PROPAGANDA!
The other VITAL side is CENSORSHIP! like the Nazi propagandist, Josef Goebbels.

Pelley Sawyers Williams are the key liars of the State,
As if they were paid directly by government. Actually they receive their salaried and perks millions through the tangled art of corporate advertising lobbied bribed billions, conspired through the foul Congress.

Finally, as Pelley Sawyers Williams go..... so go ALL the other lesser, small time & local, happy face news actors!

They are ALL tools of State propaganda, better put, ALL
Union organized, CONTROLLED TOOLS of the State.
They are corrupted union controlled, dominated members, just like the rotten unionization of the Veterans Administration!

Amongst all the secretive millions of IRS droids! who operate behind massive stone walls, there are uncounted dozens of wily potential whistleblowers who have copies of everything. duplication is the disease of all bureaucrats. The only problem is getting a bunch of them to whistleblow, like the wounded and dying vets and the six platoon vets. That way, they can´t kill then all. A single IRS whistleblower would surely be in an automobile crash, or in any number of ways, like all the Clinton sudden deaths.

So, wait for. Several whistleblowers to all come out together with all the Lois Lerner stuff and much more!

OK. If all of these e-mails are backed-up somewhere, the question becomes "Who is authorized to access them"? And I have read that even when a disk has been erased, the data can still be recovered by using an electron scan microscope. That thing can read down to an atom. And remember, erasing a file(s) is just writing over it. Because once it has been created, as mentioned previously, it cannot be completely destroyed. It is stored as a magnetic pulse and to my knowledge, magnetism can´t be destroyed as it´s one of the 4 universal forces. The recovery of those files really only relies on someone with the courage to get it done. But I´m not holding my breath.

Next Obama will haul Congress away to FEMA camps, and the DOJ will do nothing!!!!!!!!

Wake up Congress, if you do nothing, YOU will be next!

When they hauled away Jews, I did nothing,
When they hauled away the Christians, I did nothing,
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to do anything!!!

Emails do not get "lost", they get "deleted". Let´s use the correct term.

Email files get backed up just like all other data files. Emails should have a high priority for backup when dealing with executive emails. In addition, older backups are kept off-site on tape in secure storage. So how would records or files on old backups get deleted?

The reason these criminals could consider deleting emails (from where?) is because they have no fear of ever being prosecuted for their crimes.

Who is going to prosecute these criminals who inundate the government? Certainly Boehner will take no steps to serve justice. After all, he is only 1/2 of 1/3 of a man, and it may appear to him as typical political shenanigans not worthy of his, or anyone else´s, attention. Cowards (and fellow travellers) view the world differently than most people.

There is one more factoid that needs to be mentioned. Emails have both a sender and recipients. What happened to the recipient emails sent by Lerner? What of the emails, response emails sent to Lerner? Obviously those that involved only the punk in the WhiteHouse and her could well be long gone. Were the criminals able to expunge all copies of the damaging emails? Chain emails could be in lots of locations.

One thing about punks, including executive punks, is that they are cocky and they can easily overlook the possible trails that would help reveal the criminality of their executive actions.

Does the White House punk send emails over his cell phone? What other possible blunders might he have made?

Perhaps Lois could ask some of her buddies at the FBI to recover her emails. Besides being backed up on the server, whatever emails she had on her hard drive can be recovered, unless someone "accidently" hit it with a big hammer or drilled a hole in it. I have a commercial program, R-Studio, that I´ve used many times to recover files from hard drives, even after it has been re-partitioned, formatted, and had a new Operating System installed. It shows every partition and file that has ever been on the drive. The FBI has the same, probably much better, capability. If they can´t recover them, then there are commercial labs that can. You can´t just "loose" files on a hard drive, like you can misplace 700 illegally obtained FBI files.

"Lost" my rear end, "destroyed." This is just in your face we can get away with anything and the media will back us to the hilt. Meanwhile our fearless Republican leaders hide under their desks for fear that someone may not like them. It´s difficult to decide who should be chained to a large stone first, but Republicans rank right up there.

Sharyl Attkisson´s questions about this at Twitchy should be forwarded around to everyone. Nixon could only marvel at the corruption and lawlessness the Obama administration is being allowed, by the GOP, to get away with every single day. Read Attkison, then ponder what to do about the GOP if they allow this absolute outrage to pass, as they have all the others from this administration of crooks...

WASHINGTON – Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson expressed confidence that the federal government can successfully deal with the surge of unaccompanied children crossing the southern border but it likely will cost billions of dollars to deal with the ongoing crisis. In testifying before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Johnson urged lawmakers to adopt the $3.7 billion plan proposed by President Obama, warning that revenues are running low in the Department of Homeland Security because of outlays already used to address the situation. Without the supplemental funding, Johnson told lawmakers, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will run out of money sometime in

Ex-New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson joined Greta Van Susteren tonight to open up about her firing and her experience at the Times. Abramson also defended a claim she has made previously that the Obama White House is the “most secretive” she’s ever dealt with. Abramson said she’s “never dealt with an administration where more officials… demand that everything be off the record.” She cited criminal investigations against journalists’ sources, including the current case involving Times reporter James Risen, to make the case of just how secretive the White House is. In fact, she told Van Susteren, “I spoke

Attorney General Eric Holder granted an exclusive interview to ABC´s "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" from London, where he was portrayed by ABC as deeply concerned about the global terrorist threat. What stands out from this very rare session — Holder hasn´t been on Sunday network television in four years — is that Holder pulled out the oldest, lamest card in the Obama political deck: President Barack Obama and he are opposed by people who should be suspected of racism. And darned if he didn´t get away with it again. Pierre Thomas, ABC´s Justice Department correspondent, interviewed Holder and asked him why he

The White House won’t reveal where it is housing thousands of Central American juvenile migrants because their privacy rights trump Americans’ right to know what‘s happening in their neighborhoods, press secretary Josh Earnest declared July 16. “The public does have a right to know what’s happening… [but] at the same time, there are privacy rights that are included in the law that this administration is committed to enforcing and following,” Earnest told Ed Henry, Fox News’ White House correspondent. “We are not surprised in the least to see the Obama administration imitate the smugglers,” William Gheen, founder of Americans for Legal Immigration

President Obama on Wednesday announced new sanctions against Russia for its involvement in Ukraine and other foreign policy moves in response to several international concerns across the Middle East. "We live in a complex world and at a challenging time," Obama said from the White House. "And none of these challenges lend themselves to quick or easy solutions, but all of them require American leadership. And as commander in chief, I’m confident that if we stay patient and determined, that we will, in fact, meet these challenges." The president said the new sanctions against Russia -- which hit major Russian banks and

Newly released testimony latest evidence

Transcripts of congressional testimony released by the House Armed Services committee are the latest in a growing body of evidence that the 2012 Benghazi attacks were premeditated. Gen. Carter Ham, who at the time led the military´s Africa command, known as Africom, told Congress in April the terrorists who attacked the CIA annex, during the third wave of the terrorist assault, had professional training. "Given the precision of the attack, it was a well-trained mortar crew," Ham said, adding the mortar strike showed "a degree of sophistication and military training that is relatively unusual and certainly, I think, indicates that

A month before former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called for President Barack Obama to be impeached on the pages of Breitbart News over his lawlessness on illegal immigration, Obama was already concerned that his unilateral actions on immigration could warrant impeachment. He even kind of joked with pro-amnesty activists not to push him to do something that would get him impeached. Here´s how Politico describes what occurred during a private meeting between Obama and pro-amnesty activists last month: President Barack Obama listened to immigration activists run through a long wish list of executive actions – then added a request of

Despite evidence that the current border crisis is at least partly the result of its previous executive action on immigration, the White House decided it was merely a "public relations problem" and moved forward with plans to issue further executive actions along similar lines. The New York Times has a piece out today which contains some new insight into the White House´s thinking about the border crisis and how it relates to the President´s stated goal of taking action on immigration without Congress. The Times article states, "In the days leading up to the Rose Garden speech, there were discussions in the

The central weakness of the Republican´s political position in Washington has been on vivid display as the situation at the southern border has devolved into a complete crisis. As tens of thousands of foreign nationals overwhelm the border and render our sovereign boundary meaningless, Republicans in DC are tinkering with legislative fixes they say will address the situation. As if the crisis at the border is the result of some drafting error or a failure to enact some specific law relevant to this precise set of circumstances. It is a fool´s errand. Republicans, especially in DC, can always be lured by

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
