Brat Flusters the Establishment
American Thinker, by J.R. Dunn

Original Article

The dust hasn’t settled from the downfall of Eric Cantor and David Brat is already receiving “directives “. Two op-eds, both courtesy of the NY Sun, appeared on the dawn of the primary congratulating Brat, declaring that he was very promising indeed, and providing friendly advice to drop that immigration stuff if he knows what´s good for him. The first is from the generally sensible Larry Kudlow: … Mr. Brat seems to be saying that free-market capitalism is the best path to prosperity. My kind of guy. However, during the late stages of his primary campaign, Mr. Brat railed against

Comments:
The comedy continues as the Republican Establishment is so desperate to sell "Immigration Reform" that no sane working American citizen wants it is willing to try anything to deliver the goods for the Chamber of Commerce and Wall Street.

Yeah, tying "Immigration Reform" to the pro-life movement makes sense. Seriously? This is the best that Ivy League Establishment blue bloods can come up with?

What a joke the Grand old Party has become.

Got Tea?

Dear Candidate Brat

I have an adjunct suggestion to go along with the, good sense, advice to drop the immigration issue.

Promise to make America a Gun Free Zone, and confiscate all the citizens weapons.

The district that gave Professor Brat the election is a stereotypically country club one, according to all demographic accounts. They liked his message.

Not sure what #2 means by "stereotypically country club" or why she wants to put people in boxes like that. The median household income in District 7 is $64,751. Median single family home is $188,400. That doesn´t sound like country club people to me. Maybe they are just ordinary working Americans sick to death of what the central government is doing to them and their country.

Individuals cited in the article wanting more open borders exemplify why Cantor was ousted. They ignore that the US no longer has borders. The country has been overthrown. War was declared on the US when tens of thousands of people from Central America all of a sudden crossed the US border. By a miracle, they can´t be sent back. By law. Why didn´t a Republican demand this law be changed on day 1? American taxpayers already broke thanks to 8 years of George Bush and 6 years of Obama are now being forced to pay all expenses for 100,000 new homeless people including airfare flying them to spots around the country for permanent residence. We´re told many more will be coming next year and the year after. Jeb Bush invited them after all, told them it was an act of love to break in. Is Mr. Bush paying all their expenses?

Fending off persistent questions about his residency status, Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) noted in a radio interview last week that “my kids went to school” in Dodge City, Kansas, as a means of demonstrating his ties to the state he represents roughly 1,400 miles away in Washington, D.C. But a close inspection of that claim shows his children only attended school there for about three months, and attended and graduated from high school in Alexandria, Virginia, although they later attended college in Kansas. “We have declared Dodge [City] our residency; our kids went to school there. A Democrat-backed super PAC called Maine Forward has committed to spending $2 million against Republican Gov. Paul LePage and for Democratic nominee Mike Michaud in the run-up to the Pine Tree State´s elections this fall, according to the Bangor Daily News. LePage is a top target for the Democratic Governors Association, and a report published in Talking Points Memo that he discussed executing Democrats in a meeting with a sovereign citizen group called the Aroostook Watchmen have only burnished their hopes. LePage said that execution was not a discussion item in the meetings. But regardless, the news didn’t do him

Back in 2012, I shared a sadly amusing image about how the modern political process has degenerated into two wolves and a sheep voting what to have for lunch. I was making an argument in that column against majoritarianism (and that is a critical issue, as explained in this video), but there’s also a very mportant moral component to this debate. Walter Williams addresses this issue in his latest column. He starts by asking a hypothetical question. Suppose I saw a homeless, hungry elderly woman huddled on a heating grate in the dead of winter. To help the woman, I ask somebody for

Mark Levin Unveils Three-Step Border Plan

On Wednesday, conservative scholar and talk radio host Mark Levin unveiled his three-step border security plan on a dry erase board on Fox News´ Hannity. Appearing in a segment after pro-amnesty Republican Karl Rove, Levin, the conservative who was Attorney General Ed Meese´s chief of staff in the Reagan Administration, held up a dry erase board that read, "Deport! Secure Border! Cut $ From Foreign GOVTS!" Levin said his plan was a "humane program" that would discourage illegal immigrant children from making the treacherous journey to America so that they are not killed or raped. And he emphasized that America

Lately there has been a lot of buzz about having Mitt Romney as the GOP nominee in 2016. And there can be little doubt that many things Mitt talked about from 2007 to 2012 have come true (crumbling of Iraq, Putin being our number one geo-political foe, Obamacare not being workable). And while there was no bigger supporter of Mitt Romney than I was (for the record I was a member of a group called Evangelical Christians for Mitt Romney and I also managed several precincts in Shenandoah County Virginia for the Romney campaign during the 2012 primary) the fact

Mississippi´s US Senate race has devolved into a shower of accusations piled on state Republican stalwarts of secret donations and vote-buying, and I´m rather enjoying it. Go ahead, Tea Party, I say. It´s time to shine some light on how elections are done in my state, and everywhere – even if it takes some whack-a-doo right-wingers to flip that switch. Though it´s been fun to watch the GOP establishment come under fire after Thad Cochran´s razor-thin primary runoff win last month, I´m mostly happy that others are finally clueing into what I´ve long known exists: evidence that elections in our state

Tiahrt represented Kansas´ 4th district for 16 years, and for 14 of those years he sat on the House Appropriations Committee. At the eleven minute mark of this 15 minute interview, Kansas Senator Pat Roberts is reduced to a stumbling, bumbling pile of a 47 years in Washington incumbent who can´t manage to coherently explain why he doesn´t actually live in Kansas anymore. And perhaps the worst of it is when he admits that he does click his heels together to go back to Kansas on occasion .... seemingly only when he gets an opponent. Roberts may not have distinguished himself as that much of a wizard in D.C. over the years but if a slot opens up in Oz, perhaps Dorothy will consider him as a write in after hearing this embarrassing performance.

In 1776 Americans declared themselves independent of more than arbitrary rule by a distant monarch. They also severed the ties of aristocracy. This was in itself a revolutionary notion. It meant that political power, its attendant privilege and economic advantages would no longer be transferred by the blood. Earldoms, dukedoms, and kingdoms were banished from the territory and from the future of the American people. The citizen became the self-identifying unit of self-rule. The generation of English colonists who gathered together in the summer of 1776 to declare their independence from the English crown knew that they had exhausted all other remedies.
