Sen. Lindsey Graham Lives Another Day
American Spectator, by Amanda Carey

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 6/11/2014 4:51:09 AM

During an interview I conducted back in April with Rep. Trey Gowdy for a profile that would appear in this very magazine, I asked the amiable South Carolinian if he had thought about challenging Sen. Lindsey Graham in his Senate primary this year. Gowdy laughed at me. “Yes, I thought about challenging Lindsey Graham,” he told me jokingly, “because he out-negotiated me on the tee box the last time he and I played golf. And I would love to challenge him again at the course of his choosing!” “Um, no,” he added simply. Gowdy, a popular and well-liked conservative in the House

I want Gowdy to be the next speaker and Cantor´s defeat has sent a signal the ole boy´s club is in jeopardy.I mean if you´re going to be the opposition party, why go along with the other sides agenda?? Look at the picture on Drudge at the punks, things and criminals simply walking in here. Somebody needs to file for an injunction to stop breaking the law about this.

Boehner is stalling on amnesty because he doesn´t have the votes to pass it.Even if they passed a sensible. watered down version,it would get melded with the free for all senate plan. For all we know these aliens could be part of a future Obama domestic army.

Obama´s on the verge of gun confiscation also and all hell would break loose if that happened.

Hey, South Carolina…..Lindsay Graham is only conservative once every six years when he is running for reelection. He was one of the clowns that voted to confirm Eric Holder. Lindsay Graham is a RINO. Very disappointing.

FTA: He can’t be convincingly painted as an out-of-touch Washington elite. Instead of dismissing his primary challengers out of hand, he focused on organizing an impressive ground game. He didn’t shy away from a debate — even though, with an $8 million war chest, it would have been easy to stick to running an air war from afar.

Yes, he can. He is. And he only agreed to debate 3 DAYS before the primary, despite being invited to debates for 6 months.

SC must end this ridiculous open primary system. Lindsey´s Dem friends voted for him overwhelmingly.

I hadn´t seen the breakdown, #3. That explains alot. It also exposes the folly of open primaries.

I´m opposed to crossover voting, even if it may have helped in VA. Too much opportunity for mischief. Let the parties pick their candidates without outside interference, and then submit them to voters in the general.

The Senate needs new leadership. Graham needs to go to the back bench. He is a living argument for term limits and the end of seniority for committee leadership.

Lindsey Graham is a mini-nightmare and a threat to freedom and liberty for sane Americans.

So depressing that the elite permanent ruling class Republicans continue to win, and vote for destruction along with the Demonrats.

As Americans celebrated this nation´s birthday on July 4, most were likely unaware of a less uplifting commemoration that fell on the calendar during the same holiday weekend. That was Cost of Government Day, or July 6, 2014. The date´s significance is one of political math and symbolism. By the time 2014 ends, local, state and federal governments will have consumed the equivalent of every dime of national production created between New Year´s Day and July 6. The money goes to government spending and regulatory compliance. Americans have only from Monday until year´s end to produce anything for themselves. The concept

Who has done more to brighten the lives of the world’s less fortunate: Hillary Clinton (1947-present)? Or the Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997)? Put another (less trollish) way: What has Hillary Clinton done for poor people that distinguishes her from any other liberal celebrity with a massive bank account and a burning desire to prove to the world how much she cares by raising money and attending galas? What has she done recently, now that her salary is no longer funded by the American taxpayer? Obviously, the Clinton Foundation does some laudable work, as do many well-funded charity organizations, such as

It’s beginning to sink in with the intelligentsia: The flood of illegal aliens (yes, I said “illegal”) and particularly the tsunami of children traveling alone — parents risking their youngsters’ lives by sending them from Central America through gang-ravaged Mexico — threatens to turn the immigration debate into a major political liability for Democrats in November. While immigration is typically low on the list of issues Americans care most about, it was to be a trump card for the left in turning out otherwise apathetic or demoralized Hispanic and liberal voters four months from now. But, as seems to be the

Often, crazy things seem normal for a time because logical catastrophes do not immediately follow. A deeply suspicious Richard Nixon systematically and without pushback for years undermined and politicized almost every institution of the federal government, from the CIA and the FBI to the IRS and the attorney general’s office. Nixon seemed to get away with it — until his second term. Once the public woke up, however, the eventual accounting proved devastating: resignation of a sitting president, prison sentences for his top aides, collapse of the Republican party, government stasis, a ruined economy, the destruction of the Vietnam peace accords

It seems nearly every day there´s more bad news about the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and how it has treated those who served in the military. Whether it´s confirmation that veterans died while awaiting care, patient wait-time records being manipulated to trigger staff bonuses, or the VA consistently ignoring whistle-blower warnings about dangerous practices, it´s been a particularly embarrassing time for the VA. For most of the country, July Fourth weekend means hot dogs, fireworks and relaxing time with family. In certain neighborhoods in Chicago, it means something very different. For the second year running, Chicago saw a spate of violence over the long holiday weekend that would generate headlines if it happened in Kabul. “It’s Groundhog Day here in Chicago” is how Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy put it. This year, the tally of shame was more than 80 people shot and 14 killed. Last year, a slightly longer July Fourth weekend (the holiday fell on a Thursday) saw 75 people shot and 12 fatalities.

At first, it seemed like just another example of Harry Reid being Harry Reid. The Senate majority leader, whose unscripted attacks can veer into bellicosity and take liberties with facts, spoke on the Senate floor last October and appeared to blame billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch for the government shutdown. “By shutting down the government,” Reid said, “we’re satisfying the Koch brothers and Ed Meese, but millions of people in America are suffering.” In January, he went further, accusing the Kochs of “actually trying to buy the country.” His staff affectionately refers to such ad libs as Reid “getting out

Warren Harding is not the most beloved of American presidents. Two of the earliest polls to assess presidential popularity, conducted in 1948 and 1962, ranked him last and last among chief executives. Harding served only briefly, from 1921 to 1923, before he died in office, but his administration has been widely regarded as visionless, ineffectual and corrupt. If the challengers ultimately prevail, the Affordable Care Act´s complex framework could begin to unravel as millions of people lose financial assistance. The San José Mine is situated inside a round, rocky, and lifeless mountain in the Atacama Desert, in Chile. Once every dozen years or so, a storm system sweeps across the desert, dropping a torrent of rain. When that happens, the dust turns to mud as thick as freshly poured concrete. Charles Darwin briefly passed through this corner of the Atacama in 1835. In his journal, he described the desert as “a barrier far worse than the most turbulent ocean.” In the deeper desert, miners are the only conspicuous living presence; they ride in trucks and buses to the mountains, which

ONE small consolation of our high-priced health care system — our $2.7 trillion collective medical bill — has been the notion that at least we get medical attention quickly. Americans look down on national health systems like Canada’s and Britain’s because of their notorious waiting lists. In recent weeks, the Veterans Affairs hospitals have been pilloried for long patient wait times, with top officials losing their jobs. Yet there is emerging evidence that lengthy waits to get a doctor’s appointment have become the norm in many parts of American medicine, particularly for general doctors but also for specialists.
