Cantor wins Culpeper County; Brat
takes the rest of the state in upset

Star Exponent (Culpeper, VA), by Jeff Say

Congressman Eric Cantor won Culpeper by 57 votes, but was not as fortunate in the rest of the state. Cantor defeated challenger David Brat in the District 7 Republican primary in Culpeper with 1,478 votes. Brat garnered 1,421 votes. Turnout in Culpeper County was low, just 10 percent of the 29,582 registered voters in the county. It was a close call for Cantor though, as Brat had just recently visited Culpeper last Thursday as part of his grassroots campaign. The most recent federally filed campaign reports show Cantor spent more than $1 million in April and May and has more

Brat spent about $200,000 on his campaign while Cantor spent over $5,400,000 and lost to the Tea Party candidate by a 56% to 44% margin. How is the immigration battle going for the RINOS now?

I´m confused by the headline. Was this a statewide race or confined to the congressional district?

In a very underreported story, the Mexican government inked an agreement with Guatemala that would assist citizens from Guatemala in transiting Mexico to get to the US border. Jerome Corsi highlights the 5 areas of cooperation that will make the journey from Guatemala to the US safer: 1. Mexico established for the Central American migrants transiting through Mexico a new Mexican-government issued “Regional Visitor Card” that instructs the Mexican National Institute of Migration to recognize the holder as having been granted by the Mexican government the right to a “temporary stay” in Mexico. On Saturday, President Obama interrupted his busy schedule of playing pool, drinking beer and jumping lines at BBQ joints to play golf an exclusive private country club in Maryland with ESPN host Michael Wilbon. Not like he has anything else to do, right? There’s nothing unusual about the president hitting the golf course – he’s done it at least a record-setting 177 times over his term. But it’s who he is playing golf with that’s interesting. As IJReview’s current Editor-at-Large Larry O’Connor reported for Breitbart in November 2013, Wilbon made the eyebrow-raising comment: “People can be upset with me if

(Video) Sunday on ABC´s "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," Attorney General Eric Holder blasted former Gov. Sarah Palin´s (R-AK) for her call to impeach President Barack Obama by saying, "She wasn´t a particularly good vice presidential candidate. She´s an even worse judge of who ought to be impeached and why." House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and other senior Republicans have dismissed Palin´s calls and instead have opted to file a lawsuit against Obama´s executive overreach. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) said earlier on the program, "We are not working on or drawing up articles of impeachment.

The record flood of Central American children crossing the U.S. border is stretching funds and setting off improvisation at public schools. While politicians spend the summer fighting over how to turn back the tide, school leaders across the country are struggling to absorb a new student population the size of Newark, New Jersey. More than 40,000 children, many of them fresh from violent, harrowing journeys, have been released since October to stateside relatives as courts process their cases. "These kids were homesick and heartbroken," said Robin Hamby, a family specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools in suburban Washington,

Sarah Palin wants to impeach Barack Obama. In an op-ed article published last week, the former Republican vice presidential nominee declared that the crisis on the southern border (where young illegal immigrants are being detained) "is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, ´No, mas´." The Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, thinks that´s loco. (Technically, he said, "I disagree".) For Republicans hoping to avoid the kind of drama that might derail what looks to be a very good midterm election year, this kind of call is both a nuisance and a trend. A growing number of our fellow Americans have taken on grotesque features, in looks and sounds, in reaction to the thousands of children from Central America who have crossed our borders as they flee poverty and violence in hope for something better. Sadly, the arrival of these youngsters has been greeted by flag-waving, sign-carrying, Bible-thumping and Constitution-quoting citizens demanding that they not be received here and that they be returned immediately to their
