Hillary Clinton’s impoverished claims
Washington Post, by Jennifer Rubin

Original Article

Posted By:EagleEye, 6/10/2014 4:24:03 PM

Something really doesn’t compute about the Clinton family finances. In an interview Monday, Hillary Clinton claimed that when she and Bill Clinton left the White House, they were $12 million in debt. How in the world did this happen? (Snip) His legal defense fund raised millions for him. Hillary Clinton left the White House with a tidy $8 million book advance. Their finances surely improved from 2000-2008. The New York Times reported in April 2008: “Former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton earned a combined $109 million between 2000 and 2007 and paid $33.8 million in federal taxes.”

Comments:
No mention of her political war chest or money that may be squirreled away with Chelsea to hide from IRS. (That´s an old trick the rich use to fool the tax man). Anyone checked her bedroom closet?

No mention of the Clinton Library, the mother of all slush funds. Or of the Clinton "charities".

She seems hopelessly confused now.

Before I had regarded her as a devout liar and supreme egoist. IOW, a typical politician.

These new blunders may stem from a medical condition. That I can´t know and don´t care.

The Clintons have been living off the government teat for most of their married life, first in Arkansas and then in Washington. (Recall that Hillary demanded the state pay for Chelsea´s nannies and install a pool at the governor´s mansion back in Arkansas.)

They could not have been dead broke, unless they are dreadful money managers. Where was the cattle futures money she put in government bonds? What did they do with the presidential salary? How did they buy a million dollar house in New York?

Well at least now we have an explanation of the frumpy clothes. Furthermore, people such as the Clintons and the Obamas count liquid money a bit differently than most. That would be other people´s money to which they have access. For instance, a White House party, paid for by the tax payers, or a party by the Foundation would be expensive, lavish affairs.
Private parties, however, would be more on the order of pineapple wine and frozen, leftovers from "civil service" days.

At that moment, with those words, how many decided not to vote for her ?

A lot can happen before 2016.

The Obama administration is hoping that 4,000 Hellfire missiles might turn the tide in Iraq as the Middle Eastern nation takes on the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Officials were told by the State Department last week that the Obama administration is trying to complete the sale with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Shiite-led government. Members of the Senate and House foreign relations committees will conduct a review of the planned sale. The process can take up to 40 days, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday. “As a matter of policy, we decline to comment on cases that have not been formally notified to Congress,”

A month after Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America targeted Target for letting North Texas open-carriers stroll through the toy section with Oreos and AKs, the Big Box has finally released a statement asking shoppers to leave their long guns at home. This morning interim CEO John Mulligan wrote on the company’s blog that the company’s leadership has been wrestling with the “complex issue” for several weeks. And in the end, he writes, the team decided to join Chipotle, Chili’s, Starbucks and other companies by asking folks to shop without displaying their weapons. Says the statement: As you’ve likely seen in the media,

Boston - He insists he’s not running for president a third time, but Mitt Romney is campaigning again in New Hampshire. The former Republican presidential nominee is set to endorse Senate candidate Scott Brown on Wednesday, campaigning publicly in New Hampshire for the first time since the early hours of Election Day 2012 as he continues a larger effort to re-emerge as a force in Republican politics. The day is supposed to be focused on Brown’s quest to defeat Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen this fall. But Romney’s return to the state where he began and ended his last presidential campaign looms over the Senate

As part of an effort to stem the flood of children caught trying to cross the nation´s southwest border, President Obama is trying to change a 2008 law that dictates how the federal government handles those immigrant children in order to speed up their deportations. (Snip) The 2008 law, which passed both chambers of Congress by unanimous consent and was signed into law by President George W. Bush, dictates exactly how children caught crossing the border without their parents must be treated. For children coming from "contiguous countries" – in other words, Mexico and Canada – a Border Patrol officer has the authority

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has reportedly been charged with corruption and influence peddling after being held for questioning for 15 hours. Mr. Sarkozy was held at Nanterre, just outside of Paris, where he was questioned on allegations that he violated campaign finance laws and abused his power to manipulate the legal system. Authorities officially charged him, his lawyer and a senior magistrate early Wednesday morning, according to several news outlets. Prosecutors accused Mr. Sarkozy of appointing a magistrate in Monaco, Gilbert Azibert, to a senior judicial position in exchange for under-the-table information regarding campaign finance probes against him.

Israel’s present and future security
challenges in the field of counter-terrorism
Jerusalem Post [Israel], by Bonnie Riva-Ras    Original Article

Israel has been forced to cope with waves of terrorism of various types and intensities since its founding and to this day. These waves of terrorism are carried out by various terrorist organizations (Palestinian and Shi’ite) in various arenas (internal, along the borders, overseas) and using various methods (suicide attacks, explosive devices, kidnappings and negotiations, shootings and more). In the decade since the end of the second Intifada, and since the death of Yasser Arafat and his replacement by Abu Mazen, there has been a significant lull in the number of terrorist attacks on Israeli soil, the wave of suicide attacks has subsided

Since the fall of Mosul to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) organization, the media has been disseminating an apocalyptic portrayal of the situation. According to the reports, the organization will soon be conquering Baghdad and indeed all of Iraq. Likewise, there are assessments that also in Jordan, Kuwait and other Gulf nations, there is fear of suffering a similar fate from the powerful organization. Without underestimating the threat potential of the organization in light of its local achievements and murderous activities, it is worth understanding the wider context in which it has attained its achievements and strength.

Life imitates art: ‘Hunger Games’ salute

Life is imitating art in Thailand — unfortunately for protesters, it’s the illegal three-fingered salute from the “Hunger Games” books and film series. After Thailand’s military council took power in a coup on May 22, it began cracking down on dissent in unique ways. It became illegal to read George Orwell’s “1984” in public or to wear shirts that say “Peace Please.” Now, the salute from “The Hunger Games” is off-limits, Business Insider reported Friday. Plainclothes cops are reportedly patrolling Bangkok for individuals who break such laws and then arrest them. “In many cases, their heads are covered with black plastic bags so they won’t

Brownsville, TX - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Saturday during a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border that she holds little hope that Congress will pass comprehensive immigration reform this year. (Snip) ‘‘A few days ago I would have been more optimistic about comprehensive immigration reform,’’ Pelosi said. ‘‘I thought that we had been finding a way because we have been very patient and respectful of (Speaker of the House John Boehner) trying to do it one way or another. I don’t think he gives us much reason to be hopeful now, but we never give up. There’s still the month of July.’’

As Tea Party challengers grappled with the stunning news that Sen. Thad Cochran had beaten the odds to win his primary against Chris McDaniel, Tennessee candidate for Senate Joe Carr vowed that the fight would continue. “Make no mistake about it: the fight that Chris McDaniel started in Mississippi will continue here in Tennessee,” Carr announced in a statement to supporters late Tuesday night. Carr specifically criticized the Cochran campaign for working to drive out Democrat supporters to win the runoff election. According to the Associated Press, Cochran earned 50.8 percent of the vote, while McDaniel peaked with 49.2 percent.
