Reporters who showed up to cover the first signing of Hillary Clinton´s book tour in Manhattan on Tuesday faced strict restrictions that led to what one veteran correspondent called a "media mutiny." Officials with the Union Square Barnes & Noble informed the large group of reporters at the event they would be allowed to view only the first 20 minutes of Clinton´s event, which was scheduled to last more than 2 hours. This woman´s entire existence has been continuous stage production ever since she screwed the pooch on healthcare back in the 90´s and Bill had to hide her from the public for several months. Since then she doesn´t do a damn thing without a poll, focus group and controlling the entire show.

KARACHI, Pakistan — Gunmen in Pakistan attacked a training facility near the Karachi airport on Tuesday, forcing a temporary suspension of flights and triggering a brief shootout with security forces, just days after the brazen Taliban assault on the city´s busy airport shocked the country.Security forces managed to quickly repulse the attack on the complex, which serves as a training academy for airport security forces, officials said. Pakistani television stations showed images of security guards rushing to the scene and frantically taking up positions behind buildings or earthen berms in the neighborhood roughly one a half mile from Karachi´s Jinnah International

Bergdahl Was in Unit

The platoon was, an American military official would assert years later, “raggedy.”On their tiny, remote base, in a restive sector of eastern Afghanistan at an increasingly violent time of the war, they were known to wear bandannas and cutoff T-shirts. Their crude observation post was inadequately secured, a military review later found. Their first platoon leader, and then their first platoon sergeant, were replaced relatively early in the deployment because of problems. But the unit — Second Platoon, Blackfoot Company in the First Battalion, 501st Regiment — might well have remained indistinguishable from scores of other Army platoons

What happens when the world’s greatest spin doctor commits malpractice — on himself? That is the question that now bedevils Barack Obama after what have been, without a doubt, the worst weeks of his presidency. From the Veterans Administration scandal to the jaw-dropping events surrounding the swap of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the man with the most remarkable intuitive grasp of how to preserve and enhance his own image the world has ever seen has now tarnished it almost beyond recognition.Who would have expected such a development? From the speech in 2004 that made him a rising star through the campaign in 2008

Reported details of the high-profile prisoner swap that freed Bowe Bergdahl over the weekend are not telling the full story, according to a high-level intelligence official involved in efforts to find and rescue the Army sergeant. The Haqqani Network, a terrorist group operating in Afghanistan and Pakistan, freed Bergdahl on Saturday after holding him captive for five years in exchange for the release of five Guantanamo Bay prison inmates.A senior intelligence official with intimate knowledge of the years-long effort to locate and rescue Bergdahl told the Washington Free Beacon that the details of that exchange do not add up.The official, who

Retailers are starting to push a new trend in menswear: the short suit. The ensemble looks like a regular suit from the waist up, with a sport coat over a button-down shirt and sometimes a tie or bowtie. Instead of trousers, however, the suit´s bottoms are cropped at the knee. J. Crew, Topman, Asos, and Barneys are among the retailers selling the short suit this season. They may be taking cues from fashion icon Pharrell Williams, who donned tuxedo shorts to the Academy Awards earlier this year. Since its first introduction into our lexicon, the definition of the word metrosexual has changed several times. At first it was used to describe young, urban males who were more interested in fashion, grooming and appearance than the traditional masculine male. Sexuality ran the gamut from officially gay, straight or bisexual. Then an article in Salon.com by Mark Simpson narrowed it down to the following: "He might be officially gay, straight or bisexual, but this is utterly immaterial because he has clearly taken himself as his own love object and pleasure as his sexual preference." And given Barack Obama´s frequent trips there before and during his presidency, the rumor mill is spinning. He visited Asheville last year, speaking at an auto parts plant owned by Linamar Corp. to advocate for a minimum wage hike the day after his State of the Union address. Obama has visited the trendy city of just 85,000 people three other times since his first presidential campaign. It was his debate-preparation retreat before going toe-to-toe
