Illegal Immigration from North

Breitbart London [UK], by M. E. Synon

Landings of thousands of illegal immigrants from North Africa are becoming “dramatic and unsustainable,” and Italy and Malta say they have been “forgotten” by the rest of Europe amid a flood of migrants. At the weekend Italian, Maltese and American ships were involved in an operation to rescue migrants packed into 25 boats on their way from Libya. [Snip] Luigi Ammatuna, the mayor of Pazzallo, on the southeast tip of Sicily, says the situation there could become unmanageable. The town took in more than 500 immigrants in one day at the weekend: “We already have the first cancellation of tourists,

Comments:
The illegals know full well that the West has weakened to the point where there are no brave and clever little Dutch boys to stick a finger in the dyke to stop the damaging flood.

Why were those rescued taken to a Sicilian town? Why were they not returned to the North African coast or forced back in their boats?

But they can only stay for two years if Congress doesn´t agree.

Records revealed on Monday show that President Obama racked up another $2.5 million in hotel and rental car costs when he visited Brussels, Belgium for this month´s G7 summit--and spent just one night in Belgium´s capital. Two government contract award documents show that the money was allocated to cover 141 rental vehicles and a total of 399 lodging, meeting and conference rooms. The expenses covered Obama´s June 4-5 stay in Brussels, along with costs related to 15 days of ´advance´ work work by his advance team before the president participated in a G7 conference in between one-night stays in Poland

Israeli troops searching for three Israeli teenagers missing in the West Bank have clashed with Palestinians, detaining scores for questioning. As the army stepped up the search, it said it had arrested 150 Palestinians, including leading Hamas members. Palestinian medics say a 19-year-old was shot dead during clashes near Ramallah, which erupted after soldier conducted house-to-house searches. Israel has accused Hamas of kidnapping the teens, though Hamas denies this. [Snip] Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri called Mr Netanyahu´s statements "silly" and said the arrests were "aimed at breaking the will of the Hamas movement in the West Bank".

Ukraine says Russia has cut off all gas supplies to Kiev, in a major escalation of a dispute between the two nations. "Gas supplies to Ukraine have been reduced to zero," Ukrainian Energy Minister Yuri Prodan said. Russia´s state-owned gas giant Gazprom said Ukraine had to pay upfront for its gas supplies, after Kiev failed to settle its huge debt. Gazprom had sought from Kiev $1.95bn (£1.15bn) - out of $4.5bn it says it is owed - by 06:00 GMT. The Russian firm said it would continue to supply gas to Europe. Somali militants have shot dead at least 48 people after attacking two hotels and a police station in a small Kenyan coastal resort as locals were watching the World Cup. The attack in Mpeketoni, which is about 30-miles southwest of the tourist centre of Lamu, came at the end of a weekend of bloodshed that has exposed the world to the shocking depravity of terrorists who appear emboldened by each other´s acts. The string of bloodthirsty atrocities, spanning two continents from Kenya to Iraq, has raised the spectre of a new era of barbaric terror sweeping the globe.

Al-Qaeda’s followers seem acutely vulnerable to the sin of hubris. It was only natural for the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) to take advantage of Syria’s civil war to carve out a new domain inside that country. [Snip] With only a few thousand fighters, how can ISIS hold all of this territory? True enough, the Iraqi army simply collapsed before their eyes, so it must have been hugely tempting to press on and on. But the chances are that ISIS have now over-reached and made their own defeat a compelling necessity for a remarkable coalition of enemies. When

He writes: Britain and the USA have come far closer to open armed combat with each other in modern times than most people realise. In many ways, this was the biggest war in modern history that never happened. Nicotine patches have helped many smokers kick the habit, but new research suggests they may actually do more harm than good. A U.S. study found nicotine alone could cause cancer. The researchers, at the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute, say nicotine is such a powerful carcinogen that nicotine-infused products designed to help people give up smoking may not be safe. Nicotine is one of 4,000 chemicals found in cigarette smoke. While many of these chemicals are recognised as carcinogens nicotine has, until now, only been considered addictive rather than carcinogenic. It is heavily used in smoking cessation products such as patches and gum.

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – It´s perhaps appropriate that President Barack Obama is vacationing this weekend in California, where the state flag features a roaming grizzly. The restless president, who has compared himself to a caged animal on recent wanderings by declaring the "bear is loose," took a long Father´s Day weekend away with his wife and older daughter. The visit to the desert resort area of Palm Springs is one of the ways Obama has been trying to escape during his sixth year cloistered in the White House. Bill Clinton is by far the most admired president of the past quarter century, a new poll shows, underscoring how much he has done to burnish his profile since leaving the White House in 2000. Asked which president of the past 25 years they admired most, some 42% of respondents named Mr. Clinton in the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Annenberg Survey. That was more than twice the share that named any other president. The other three presidents of the quarter century all polled about the same: 18% said they most admired President Barack Obama; 17% named George W. Bush; and 16%

Members of Congress called on President Obama Sunday to link up with Arab allies and quell a quick-moving crisis in Iraq, where Islamic militants swept toward Baghdad and left a bloody trail in their wake. Republican lawmakers said the administration has sat on the sidelines for too long as sectarian violence threatens to undo what U.S. troops accomplished during the war in Iraq. The bloodshed spurred by militants from an al Qaeda splinter group could topple the country’s fragile government while civil war rages in neighboring Syria, they said, offering a magnet for extremists from Iran and even western nations.
