Supreme Court rules against
immigrants over visa eligibility

Reuters, by Lawrence Hurley

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 6/9/2014 12:53:03 PM

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Monday that children waiting with their parents for immigration visas must go to the back of the line once they reach the age of 21. The court was divided 5-4 in deciding that only in limited circumstances does federal immigration law allow for children to retain their place in line after they become adults. The case concerns a program that allows people who are U.S. citizens or legal residents to sponsor relatives who live overseas. (Snip) The court endorsed the federal government's interpretation of the law, which was that only children of permanent U.S. residents were eligible to keep their place in line once

Comments:
Helpful decision for helping border violations, but unfortunately has nothing to do with the criminal behavior of 0bama bringing the illegal alien children here.

"Kagan wrote that when a statute is unclear, the court was required to defer to the interpretation offered by the government."

Kagan is not only deluded, she is a danger to Democracy.

As long as Obama is President this decision is a moot matter since he refuses to enforce the immigration laws and will not remove illegal aliens if they have an immigrant visa petition filed in their behalf, the fact that they would have to wait for years until an immigrant visa becomes available to them to legalize their status here does not matter to him.

The filing of an immigrant visa petition starts the legal immigration process for alien relatives. The subsequent issuance of an immigrant visa to the alien based upon the approved petition, (sometimes years later depending upon which numerical country quota under which they fall) qualifies him or her to apply for permanent residence in the USA, only after they are admitted to the USA and are given a "green card" does that process end.

This ruling matters not one wit to this lawless administration. They want to give this country away to the illegals that can get over the border and they will help them do it.

Where in the farthest reaches of anyones mind is this President and administration not in violation of their oath of office to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”?

National Review Online, by Joel Gehrke    Original Article

Representative Paul Ryan (R., Wis.,) has given up on passing legislation to overhaul the current immigration system because the border crisis has poisoned the political atmosphere for such an effort, at least for this year. (Snip) Ryan also summarized his view of how to resolve the border crisis. “The ultimate goal ought to be to secure the border, get the resources at the border that you need (and that’s where I think there’s a case for a supplemental; they’re burning through funds). But you’ve got to change the human trafficking law so that we’re not resettling people within the interior of the country, because all that does is create the incentive

Washington - Behind a slight majority of Democratic votes, the GOP-controlled House of Representatives voted late this afternoon to approve a $10.8 billion short-term extension of the Highway Trust Fund. The legislation, known formally as the Highway and Transportation Funding Act of 2014, was opposed by many conservatives, with both the Club For Growth and Heritage Action pressing lawmakers to oppose the vote. Lawmakers pushed back Tuesday against the Environmental Protection Agency’s move to garnish the paychecks of accused polluters, advancing a bill that would block the new authority. The House Committee on Appropriations approved the countermeasure as a policy rider on a $30.2 billion spending bill for natural resources agencies, including the EPA, the Interior Department and U.S. Forest Service. The amendment by Rep. Tom Graves, Georgia Republican, passed the committee in a voice vote, signaling an absence of strong opposition, if not support for prohibiting the EPA from claiming authority to garnish wages to collect fines

For an unknown candidate, political campaigns are not glamorous. “I’m sick, tired, hungry and broke,” jokes Joe Carr, a Republican Senate candidate in Tennessee. Plenty of materials for a potential dirty bomb are likely scattered throughout the area of Iraq controlled by ISIS, and pulling off an attack that spreads even a minor amount of radiation could be a huge PR coup for the terror group, experts told FoxNews.com. Last week, the Iraqi government in Baghdad warned the UN that ISIS operatives had stolen 88 pounds of uranium compounds from Mosul University. Even though many experts said the research materials were not enough to cause widespread harm, spreading fear is even more important to terrorists than a big body count, one terrorism expert said.

Baghdad - The ghost of Saddam Hussein still hangs over Iraq like a cloud stalking a sunny day; it doesn’t always cover the sun, but it never quite goes away. Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki’s slide into strongman territory in the years since American troops left has been well documented. His government and security forces have harassed Sunni Arabs with baseless arrests, or by keeping them in jail beyond their mandated terms. And for Sunni militants caught by the security forces, summary execution has become increasingly common. Even as his Shiite-dominated government has been condemned for abusing Sunnis, however,

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
