When Metrosexuals Rule the Nation
Jewish World Review, by Alicia Colon

Original Article

Since its first introduction into our lexicon, the definition of the word metrosexual has changed several times. At first it was used to describe young, urban males who were more interested in fashion, grooming and appearance than the traditional masculine male. Sexuality ran the gamut from officially gay, straight or bisexual. Then an article in Salon.com by Mark Simpson narrowed it down to the following: "He might be officially gay, straight or bisexual, but this is utterly immaterial because he has clearly taken himself as his own love object and pleasure as his sexual preference." In his book Male Impersonators,

Good article (Alicia´s always are). And I can see why her choice is Governor Perry (I like him too and would love to see him get into the WH).

However, I wouldn´t pass by Cruz either for the two reasons stated, and Governor Walker fits the bill too. Any combination of the three would please me!

I think the writer´s definition fits the term ´narcissistic´ rather than ´metrosexual.´ Or maybe a better term would be ´obama.´

I would suggest ANY free and prosperous nation WILL set about neutering its men as it strives towards a "kinder, gentler" society. To be "civilized" means you rid yourself of masculine tendencies as surely as rivers run downstream.

The left may believe they are more "evolved" than their conservative brothers but I´d put my trust in conservative men to save this country. At least they won´t be primping in mirrors of their humvees. The American male has been the envy of the world and I´d hate to see that change.

No need to reinvent the wheel. English has the perfect word for these types of human males, in use since 1590:

From Merriam-Webster:

Fop

1: a man who cares too much about how he looks or dresses.

2: a man who is devoted to or vain about his appearance or dress : coxcomb, dandy.

First Known Use of FOP
circa 1590

Works for me.

A good example of displaying male Aggression, using words. Words and government power, are the tools of effeminate males.

This is what happens when boys are raised without strong father figures.

Mothers teach their sons compassion and how tho be gentlemen. Fathers teach them how to be strong.

( Some mothers are capable of doing both, but nothing compares to having a strong role model to look up to.)

Ever since feminism insisted on placing women into all-male domains, it´s been a steady downhill trip for the American male. He´s basically been turned into a preening facsimile of women. He´s also been emotionalized to the point where even Alan Alda would be aghast.

It starts in the universities, where men are outnumbered by women and the male faculty in the humanities are a group of emasculated ganymedes. The feminists pile on the ideology and male students are made to feel unloved unless and until they cower, bow and scrape before the PC police. The curriculum reinforces all this. In the 60´s we told the antimilitary: "OK, when you´re in danger, call a hippie." Now we would say, "Call a metrosexual."

When metrosexuals rule the nation you have a government that is more interested in monitoring ´phone calls and emails and our lives rather than going about keeping our nation strong in a variety of ways. It all seems so unseemly and girly to me, but that´s one thing that happens when metrosexuals rule the nation.

And I have to wonder how big a role pharmaceuticals play in the tamping down of our young boys´ and young men´s masculinity, and I think it is consciously down.

When I was a kid all the boys wanted to be John Wayne. Now apparently they want to be Peewee Herman. That has left Hillary the most manly man in politics. Well, in Washington anyway, there are still some manly men politicians in the south and not too far west. I hope there are enough to select from to get one that can beat Hillary. I agree with Alicia, Perry or Cruz are the best bet. Cowboys won the west, maybe they can win it back.

Historically the so-said undesirable characteristics of "aggression, dominance and power" have been tempered by a healthy dose of honor. Honor was based on devotion to God and to others. Cosmetics, body building, fashion etc are characteristics of a population that worships itself instead of God and serves itself rather than others. We have thrown out the baby with the bath water.

Perry has been sounding good, and I will give him the benefit of doubt, I suppose, as to his debate performance. Regardless, it could very well be that a manly man might be just the ticket. And not to impugn the other candidates as none of them are metros -- but Perry is the one who comes to mind.

FTA: Ronald Reagan died ten years ago and America has been searching for a dutiful replacement who can stand up to the deadly enemy that is jihadism. I can´t find any Democrat that can fill his shoes.

Again, the eminently sensible Ms. Colon defies the politically correct, estrogen-soaked Zeitgeist that finds American masculinity threatening. At first blush it seems paradoxical that some of the greatest boosters of manly men are womanly women like Alicia Colon and Christina Hoff Summers. On further reflection, maybe that´s not so surprising. Along those lines Churchill once said, "I admire a manly man and rejoice in a womanly woman. But if there´s one thing I can´t stand it´s a boily boy." That´s 2014 America, especially its Oval Office occupier, in a nutshell.

Putin revels in his displays of forceful masculinity. Clearly, it´s not all a put on. The weenie-armed Obama, straining at the junior barbells in a public gym, is an affront to the mentulate, barbigerous, rough individuals whose heroism we celebrated three days ago. They saved Judeo-Christian civilization. The current regime apologizes and digs away at the foundations, hoping America will collapse into mediocrity and weakness. There isn´t much time to reverse the damage. Will we? Thank you, Alicia. Yours is a voice of strength and wisdom.

My husband and I have had this running gag about how Hollywood has had to go abroad and beyond to find male actors to represent tough characters for movies and television.

No kidding. It´s gotten to a point where the stars of action movies or TV shows that I watch are either Canadian, British or Australian. American stars who are even modestly tough are ignored because they are usually conservatives.

Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin
