If the GOP fails to pick up minority

In baseball, the on-deck circle is the waiting area for the next-in-line batter. It’s here that the batter psyches himself up, analyses the opposing pitcher, and tries to perfect his swing. When a major player is on-deck, the TV cameras swing into action highlighting his every move and building the anticipation. [Snip] Cabrera shook hands with a young fan. His message was clear: I don’t take my reputation for granted. This political instinct has enabled Cabrera to move beyond messy arguments over his drinking and a spell in rehab. Karl Rove in the UK press?

If the GOP picks another RINO, they are finished.

Mittens lost because of all the peole who traditionally would have voted republican who stayed home, lacking a choice. No more RINOs!

Republicans cannot offer any government "goodies" without causing harm to an already corrupt and overtaxed economy. This idea that bigger and more expensive government is okay as long as republicans are in charge is ridiculous!

Go back to the tried and true and quit pandering to people for a vote. It is shameful to use people like that.

Nonsense! There isn’t enough of them to dominate a National election. Hard-core Conservatives who won’t vote for anyone who doesn’t espouse their political views to the letter and either stay home or throw their vote away on a third-party candidate to “send a message"…along with squishy, bleeding-heart Rinos who worry about such matters as “single mothers” and “kids being left behind” are the ones who, in reality, elect Democrat after Democrat.

Main Street conservativism, which the establishment abhors, resonates. There is no way the GOP can attract the votes of people who hate european-americans without alienating european-americans. Ted Kennedy´s open borders strategy is working. The solution is to reduce the power of the Presidency, and to reduce the power of the federal government.

No, No,No !!! A thousand times no. There are 155 million eligible white voters in the country. In 2012 Romney polled 57 million of these. With so much of their future at stake two out of three chose to sit out or vote against the so called Republican. These RINOs couldn´t sell a cold beer to a thirsty man on a hot day. Does America really need a President who would get into a shouting match anytime the balloon goes up?

Take a look at what is happening along the Mexican border, Obama and crew have essentially turned it into an "open border" by not enforcing the immigration laws and considering illegal aliens to be potential future Democrat voters. The Democrats know that if they can cow the wimpy Republicans to cave and to give them the political cover they need to pass a massive amnesty that would probably encompass 20 million or more people, when you count all the illegal aliens who would qualify plus all their foreign relatives who would then get to come here. Out of that mass of legalized aliens the Democrats know that of all those aliens who eventually go on to US citizenship, really duel citizenship as they would keep their home country citizenship, and the Democrats want to make it very easy for them to do that, the Democrats would pick up about 85% of all the new foreign born voters generated. The history of past amnesties show that. With all those new voters mostly situated in the Southwest the Democrats would be able to change the political balance of and flip enough now reliable Republican states to the Democrat column to ensure that it would be mathematically impossible for the Republicans to get enough votes to win future Presidential elections. Once that happens the Republicans as a viable political party would be out of business having committed long-term political suicide.

Overall, the article is not quite as bad as the headline, or this conclusion:

"Therefore, in order to beat her, Republicans will have to do three things. First, they’ll have to nominate a candidate who can appeal to both conservatives and independents. Second, they´ll have to use the primary process to shape an inclusive message and avoid the internecine warfare that shredded the Republican brand in 2012. Third, they’ll have to link Clinton to growing public discontent with the Obama administration’s agenda. Most specifically on Obamacare and the economy.
As I’ve argued before, Republicans will make a terrible mistake if they win control of Congress in November’s midterm elections (increasingly likely) but then assume that victory will usher them into the White House. If Republicans fail to garner support from minority and unmarried voters, Mrs Clinton will stroll to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in 2016."

Mr. Rogan makes a few valid points, but under-emphasized the essential requirement that the GOP not alienate its existing base. If conservatives go elsewhere, whatever the pickup of minority and unmarried voters won´t make any difference at that point.
