Chomsky: Obama ‘Determined

Progressive hero Noam Chomsky is terrified of the surveillance state that has developed during the tenure of President Barack Obama, calling it a grave threat to our fundamental civil liberties. In a column published Monday, Chomsky writes that the documents revealed to the public by Edward Snowden show a system that is flagrantly violating the principles of the Constitution. “It is of no slight import that the project is being executed in one of the freest countries in the world, and in radical violation of the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights, which protects citizens from ‘unreasonable searches and seizures,’ and

Well, Mr. Chomsky, you knew over 8 years ago what Obama was going to do if elected. Why are you speaking out now? Think you´re going to change him? Fat chance! Obama is mad with power.

Perhaps Chomsky can reach out to those Dems who are not hellbent on destroying this country and encourage them to take a stand against Obie.

We will not survive another 2 1/2 years of his blatant violating of the Constitution.

#3 my guess is that Chomsky could care less about what he complains about in the article.

Instead, I suspect Chomsky is getting nervous because all aspects of university life is getting increasing attention from Obama, Holder and Company.

He sees it coming and Noam isn´t about to endorse any oversight for himself. It is fine for others, not for Professors.

How many college kids has Chomsky convinced that communism is the ideal form of government? Anyone who has a even a casual understanding of any communist state knows citizen surveillance is part of it. This is a perfect example of why those who live in the protected environment of academia should always be questioned. They live and preach theory that rarely has anything to do with reality.

Mr. Chomsky - - The Bill of Rights that you refer to was made obsolete by leftists like you when:
1) You banned all public prayers;
2) You allowed land seizures for private benefit;
3) You allowed the regulation of in-state commerce;
4) You banned churches from participating in political discourse;
5) You upheld gun bans and restrictions;
6) You forced police to read Miranda rights before investigating a crime;
7) You invented a right to abortion;
8) You created political correctness to silence unpopular dissent;
9) You declared any real form of punishment as "cruel and unusual";
10) And you allowed the federal bureaucracy to metastisize into the economic cancer we have been crippled by today.

No sir, you are too late. Our God-given rights were replaced by a generic "Happy Holidays" sign, written on recycled paper and in five languages, designed by a committee of Occupy Wall Street vegans using windmills and unicorn farts as power.

Utopia isn´t cheap, you see, and they needed some scraps of paper to blow their noses on. They didn´t think you´d mind, since no one was using the Bill of Rights, anyway.

Sitting around with the rest of your peers, Mr. Chomsky, praising the tenets of communism is very hip and cool. It sounds so perfect until the reality of what it actually is sets in and it is your privacy, your future, and your life that is being stolen from you. Your philosophy is nothing new. It offers suffering and death to those who find themselves forced to live under the so-called utopia. From the beginning of time, man in his hubris has denied God and mistakenly believed he knows better. It has never ended well and this time is no different.

Holy cow! Chomsky wrote this? You know it´s bad for the O when a radical Leftie like Chomsky tells the truth.

“In other ways [besides NSA spying] too, the constitutional lawyer in the White House seems determined to demolish the foundations of our civil liberties. The principle of the presumption of innocence, which dates back to Magna Carta 800 years ago, has long been dismissed to oblivion.”

Well, bingo, Mr. C. You have just figured this out, or are you finally as frightened for America as we on the right have been since O´s first election?

Aside from the utterly predictable NYT and maybe Susan Rice and Michelle, our White House featherweight seems to be losing support in the most unlikely places.

Occasionally, one or two of the liberals wake up. Many here have warned that they and their black/gay/abortionist/... fellow travelers will be the first targets should the Constitution - and its protections - be replaced. This would be especially true if Sharia were to become the law of the land.

Why? Because liberals would be most likely to cause "trouble" for a totalitarian regime. Rightly or wrongly: conservatives, should they be defeated, would be more likely to "fall in line". That is part of their nature.

If you love the Constitution, Mr. Chomsky: preserve and protect it while it is still alive - don´t wail and mourn it after it has died.

Start by supporting impeachment - now.

As his policies, foreign and domestic, are collapsing on pretty much every front, President Obama has increasingly sought refuge in talk about global warming. He wants the U.S. to reduce its emissions of carbon dioxide, and the EPA has done its best to bring this about via increasingly stringent regulations on coal-fired power plants. The Democrats wanted to enact cap-and-trade, but couldn’t get it through Congress, so Obama is doing the best he can through administrative action. Simultaneously, the administration has poured billions of dollars into specious “green” energy projects, many of which can’t be kept alive even with lavish

The Wall Street Journal editorial page predictably bemoans the collapse of immigration reform and, equally predictably, insinuates that Democrats conspired to help kill it in order to benefit politically. (Favoring cooperation with President Obama on anything requires conservatives to argue that the president secretly hopes the measure will fail.) But the real news comes in the seventh paragraph, when the Journal reports that House Republicans were actually poised to pass a bill before Eric Cantor´s loss freaked them out: ... a majority of GOP Members wanted an immigration reform to pass as long as they didn´t have to vote for

Every major strand of American conservatism includes a strong libertarian streak, because the value of liberty is fundamental to just about all conservative thought. But today, especially, is said to be the libertarians’ moment. What once was a fringe movement, politically speaking, has moved front and center in our political life. And yet, in my view, libertarians of both the capital L and small l varieties punch below their weight. They have not contributed as much as they should to the conservative movement. This is partly because libertarians tend to founder on foreign policy, where many are merely modern-day isolationists. But

The Israeli government has confirmed reports initially surfacing at the Associated Press and the New York Times that the bodies of three Israeli teenagers reported missing earlier this month have been found. The Israeli cabinet is conducting an emergency meeting on the matter. Officials are confident that they have found the bodies of Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach, who went missing in the West Bank earlier this month. Frenkel, a U.S. Citizen, and Shaar were 16 years old; Yifrach was 19. “They know it’s the three, they will know for sure after they do the autopsy," said an Israeli official to the newspaper on the condition of anonymity. He noted that the children appear to have been killed close to the time of kidnapping and had gunshot wounds. Israel's Haaretz newspaper added that the Israeli government was officially conducting a media blackout until all the details were confirmed.

With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --

“So far this year, Republicans in Congress have blocked every serious idea to strengthen the middle class.” –President Obama, weekly address, July 12, 2014 ~This has become a standard line in the president’s oratory, as part of making his case that he’s “acted this year to help working Americans on my own– when Congress won’t act.” The president started on this path on June 27, during a speech in Minnesota: “You know, sometimes I’m forcibly, you know, politic about how I say things, but I’m finding lately that I just want to say what’s on my mind.
