More immigrant kids arrive in Arizona
Arizona Republic [Phoenix AZ], by Daniel González

(Video) The federal government on Friday began sending hundreds of unaccompanied children caught crossing the border illegally in Texas to a holding center in Nogales, Ariz., further straining relations with Gov. Jan Brewer, who was already angry over the recent release of hundreds of undocumented families at bus stations in Phoenix and Tucson. Brewer said she learned Friday that 432 children were transported to a holding facility in Nogales and that an additional 732 children would be brought there today and Sunday. "I am disturbed and outraged that President Obama´s administration continues to implement this dangerous and

What´s going to happen to these poor kids? My guess is that predators are already circling like vultures waiting for a chance to spirit these kids away to places where they can be used in the child sex trade which is already pervasive in many parts of the country where there are Hispanics, from trailer parks here in Alabama to the barrios of New York and Philadelphia. Read one of W.E.B. Griffin´s recent books on the Philadelphia police. Senator Menendez must be sweating with anticipation.

Wasn´t there complaining about sending parents back to Mexico without there children an awful thing? Now it´s no big deal to send the children without parents across the border.

I think the busses carrying the kids should be met at the Arizona border, turned around, and sent East to D.C. Let them live in the park across the street from the White House. I´d rather they just dropped them off at the Mexican border and let them walk across but most of them are not Mexican and I´m sure would be refused. Even though they were allowed to go across Mexico to get into the U.S.

A newly unearthed audio recording reveals Hillary Clinton engaging in a candid discussion of a case involving a man she defended who had been accused of raping a 12 year-old girl in 1975. The recording is of an interview with Clinton in which she tells an Arkansas journalist how she obtained a plea bargain for the accused rapist, despite her indication that she knew he was guilty. Unearthed by The Washington Free Beacon, the conversation is part of a five hour interview that both Hillary and Bill Clinton gave to Arkansas journalist Roy Reed. The tapes from that interview are

If millions of soldiers from south of the border were flooding our nation for the purposes of colonizing our land, we would easily recognize the threat. And if some amongst us were aiding and abetting this invasion -- purposely lowering border security to facilitate it -- we’d know what to call them. And we’d know how they should be dealt with. This comes to mind when considering the flood of humanity that does continually pour across our border, a phenomenon whose most recent manifestation is the children’s crusade (which includes many teens, some of whom are gang members) currently in

President Barack Obama is scheduled to fly out of the Coachella Valley with his wife and daughter on Monday morning, ending a sunny weekend of golf in Rancho Mirage. Although much of his trip was recreational, escalating violence in Iraq demanded the president´s attention on Sunday morning. Obama was briefed by White House officials before he teed off at Porcupine Creek, a private estate owned by billionaire Larry Ellison. The president spent the afternoon inside Thunderbird Heights, a gated community where the home of interior designer Michael S. Smith and his partner James Costos likely played host to the first

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is contacting hundreds of thousands of people with subsidized health insurance to resolve questions about their eligibility, as consumer advocates express concern that many will be required to repay some or all of the subsidies. Of the eight million people who signed up for private health plans through insurance exchanges under the new health care law, two million reported personal information that differed from data in government records, according to federal officials and Serco, the company hired to resolve such inconsistencies. The government is asking consumers for additional documents to verify their income, citizenship, immigration

HARTFORD, Conn.- Unions and their allies are trying to flex their muscle in state legislatures, pushing for labor history to be included in social studies curriculum and hoping a new generation of high school students will one day be well-educated union members. But the results instead are shaping up as a reminder of the tough political landscape faced by organized labor. In six states, opponents have pushed back against demands that teachers offer lessons about the first craft unions in the 19th century, the large-scale organizing drives that powered the growth of industrial unions in the 1930s, the rise of

President Barack Obama´s visit to the Coachella Valley has polarized Desert Sun readers. Some had said they are thrilled that the president chose to spend his recreational time in the desert, but others have called the trip a waste of tax dollars. Politicians are no different. Midday on Sunday, former local Rep. Mary Bono, a Republican, sent out a tweet criticizing the president´s visit. The last American commander in Iraq recommended to the Obama administration that 23,000 U.S. troops remain to cement the victory, but no deal was ever reached with Baghdad, and all combat forces went home. That stalemate has come back to haunt the country as al Qaeda-linked extremists, who had been defeated by 2011, have returned to Iraq in a terrorist campaign to capture huge swaths of territory in northern and western areas. The extremists, known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS, for Syria), are threatening Baghdad and could be on the verge of creating an enormous terrorist state that menaces the

In this classic video, a Marine with a powerful voice stunned a patriotic crowd in 2010 by singing the stirring fourth verse of The Star Spangled Banner, which many Americans have never heard. A look at Francis Scott Key’s soaring lyrics, first written in 1814 and made our national anthem in 1931, shows it is not just a pleasant ode to our flag that can be sung at sporting events and on the Fourth of July, but is a vision for the United States. Here are the full lyrics: Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light~What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,

ISIS, the brutal insurgent/terrorist group formerly known as al Qaeda in Iraq, has seized much of western and northern Iraq and even threatens towns not far from Baghdad. From where did ISIS spring? One of George W. Bush´s most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship. If this wasn´t so tragic it would be supremely ironic, because before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, top Bush officials were insisting that there was an al Qaeda-Iraq axis of evil. Their claims that Saddam Hussein´s men were training members of al Qaeda how to

Anaheim, CA - President Obama, appearing emboldened after his recent move to cut carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants, on Saturday ridiculed members of Congress who deny climate change or plead scientific ignorance as an alibi for avoiding an uncomfortable truth.
