Ariz. Rushes Supplies to Site
Holding Migrant Kids

Associated Press, by Bob Christie & Elliot Spagat*

Phoenix - Angry about the federal government sending from Texas to Arizona immigrants who are in the country illegally, Arizona officials say they are rushing federal supplies to a makeshift holding center in the southern part of the state that´s housing hundreds of migrant children and is running low on the basics. Gov. Jan Brewer´s spokesman, Andrew Wilder, said Friday that conditions at the holding center are so dire that federal officials have asked the state to immediately ship the medical supplies to the center in Nogales. A Homeland Security Department official told The Associated Press that children are sleeping

But the official said: "As quickly as we move them out, we get more. We believe this is just a start."

I don´t care about the big, sad eyes. We can hardly take care of our own children, let alone those from other countries. The costs involved will break us completely.

Fly them back to their countries of origin.

Now.

It´s a "federal law", they claim: so it´s a federal responsibilty.

The fact that they are children makes no difference in this. Stop playing the child card. We cannot be responsible for all of other people´s children.

While Gov. Brewer´s compassion is appreciated, there are more important issues at play.

U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has said the immigrants were mostly families from Central America fleeing extreme poverty and violence.

Since when are these justifications for refugee status? If we open this door, there are literally billions worldwide (and in South Chicago and other US ghettos) who can walk through it.

Never forget that we are an "island" of 350 million in a "sea" of over 7-billion. Without some "sea walls", we will be swallowed up. That´s just a fact of life.

Not to mention: we´re broke.

Well, I guess the Federal Govt will have to borrow more money from China, to care for these illegal immigrant kids (dumped by their parents on the border?), and also to hire a lawyer for each one of them (per Eric Holder´s directive) to guide them toward U.S. citizenship.

America - what a wonderful, welcoming, generous, exceptional country it is!

Thank you #3, it´s absolutely Cloward-Piven. Unfortunately both parties have wanted this for many years. Jeb Bush practically begged them to come here, saying it was an act of love. This is a massive crime against each American, each one of us is expected to pay for these people. Not one elected official has taken to the microphone and said this must stop immediately, put soldiers on our border. All 60,000-100,000 children should be put on Jeb Bush´s doorstep and he should have to pay to support each one for life.

Texas and Arizona and any other state this is happening to need to rent/buy buses and send these people to DC. That would be cheaper than trying to support them and make a place for them in their society. Let Washington deal with it if they are so determined to have these young people come across the borders. See how it will drag them down in more ways than they can count. I don´t understand why Texas and Arizona just accept it. Move them on up to DC and let them have a taste of "immigration" in the raw

And the feds will continue to P on the States as long as state officials pretend they are somehow "partners" with the federal on any program.

We took a trip to Kirkuk today. It was eye-opening. The road seemed perfectly safe from here in Erbil, Iraq. There was plenty of ordinary traffic, and normal checkpoints, along the 65-mile route. But it was somewhat interesting that our local drivers, for the first time, brought sidearms, Kalashnikov rifles, and extra magazines to work. We went to the Kirkuk Air Base. "Krabtown" is what the thousands of U.S. troops who were stationed there called it. The ghostly remnants of the American G.I.´s presence are everywhere. We saw a bumper sticker pasted onto an old Soviet MiG fighter jet. "Wall
