GOP: Real vets are dying
in Obama´s VA scandal

Investor´s Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

Posted By:SurferLad, 6/7/2014 9:26:38 AM

On this weekend when we honor the 70th anniversary of D-Day, we are even more mindful of all we owe our veterans. That’s why what’s been happening at the VA hits so close to home. Americans are, at our core, a grateful people. We reject the idea of letting our own people down. To see all this deception and incompetence at the VA — with no accountability, no action: it is more than just a shame; it´s a national disgrace. This week, we asked the president to take three immediate steps. First, we asked the president to support a bill the House has already passed that makes it easier to fire senior VA executives who refuse to do their jobs.

On Monday, reordered one of my normal meds from VA and mentioned problems with sleeping pills. Wednesday, got call from my doctor´s nurse who said that was taken care of with newer prescription, also, needed to come in for follow-up physical. Then, she put me in touch with psychiatrist, because taking sleeping pills requires VA to monitor me at least once every six months (since don´t see her regularly).

Besides meds are mailed to me, any appointment is first reminded to me by a card listing it and a robocall before to confirm it. I´ve told them that a "death panel" may catch up as one ages, but don´t hold my VA health care providers responsible. Like the soldier in the foxhole with you, they must be trusted with your life. The rest will work itself out, God willing. The government (Congress) and president(s) are to blame for never funding veterans´ care, both physical, and especially mental, when we come home. Illegal aliens get it all for free, while we could and are bankrupted (with families) by the system.

Andrew Malcolm does not go far enough. There are some VA employees that need to be criminally charged with negligent homicide and fraud. Additionally, there needs to be a pay/promotion freeze and a suspension of bonuses until the situation is cleaned up.

The VA scandal is Obamacare in a few years if it is not repealed.

Rehearsal´s over: Time for

As fresh word arrives of Islamic militants continuing their full-speed assault on Baghdad and executing thousands along the way, President Obama rushed back to Washington Monday to convene national security advisers on a path forward. Well, actually, that´s not true. The commander-in-chief did not rush back at all from his long weekend getaway in southern California. [Snip] He didn’t return to the White House Monday night. And today he’s off for more fundraisers. Today, Obama´s off to Pennsylvania for another speech. And then tonight he´ll do two fundraisers in New York City, including a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Gala.

Sen. Tom Coburn gives the Republican Party's Weekly Remarks My name is Tom Coburn. As a physician and three-time cancer survivor, I know firsthand how frustrating the wait to see a doctor can be. The Department of Veterans Affairs admitted this week that veterans must wait up to three months to get a doctor’s appointment. These delays have been linked to unnecessary deaths and complications. This is unacceptable. It screams of government incompetency.

President Obama's weekly remarks Hi, everybody. Sunday is Father’s Day. If you haven’t got Dad a gift yet, there’s still time. Just barely. But the truth is, what we give our fathers can never match what our fathers give us. I know how important it is to have a dad in your life, because I grew up without my father around. I felt the weight of his absence. So for Michelle and our girls, I try every day to be the husband and father my family didn’t have when I was young.

Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. Army soldier traded in the release of five Taliban terrorists, arrived at a San Antonio military hospital early this morning for further reintegration. The former private, who disappeared from his guard post in Afghanistan, was routinely promoted to sergeant during his five years of custody by the Taliban. He will reside at Brooke Army Medical Center for an unspecified time. [Snip] However, this morning a new survey of likely voters by Rasmussen Reports confirms the collapse of public support for Obama's deal with the terrorist organization that hosted al Qaeda in Afghanistan for its preparations and training to launch the

Jay Carney´s a short-timer now, in his last days as fact-dodger and teller of partial truths for President Obama´s opaque White House. But Carney´s just about had it with these terrorists moving to take over Iraq and steal the military victory so hard-won by brave American troops before Obama and Joe Biden screwed things up. [Snip] This president likes to issue statements that look like action. Speaking in Obama´s absence, Carney said he "strongly condemns" ISIL´s recent attacks. He offered condolences to the families of the many dead.

A surprising primary upset by the Tea Party in Virginia Tuesday night. And an unsurprising defeat for the Tea Party in South Carolina. The mixed signals just 147 days before the 2014 midterm elections are all part of the ongoing wrestling for the soul of the Republican Party between so-called Establishment Republicans and the more conservative, confrontational Tea Party types.

Hillary Clinton is doing everything you´d expect from someone setting up a presidential attempt in two years. She´s publishing a book today that´s unlikely to offend anyone important. "A newsless snore," wrote Politico´s Mike Allen. She´s granting "exclusive" interview after "exclusive" interview with hand-picked questioners. Oh, look they´re women. [Snip] Clinton´s traveling the country for weeks now, having honed her message these last 15 months in lucrative corporate speeches. Her poll numbers for the Democrat nomination are prohibitively positive. She´ll do much smiling and deflecting in scores of public sessions, trying to define the new Hillary before others do.

Hi, everybody. This is commencement season, a time for graduates and their families to celebrate one of the greatest achievements of a young person’s life. But for many graduates, it also means feeling trapped by a whole lot of student loan debt. And we’ve got to do more to lift that burden. See, in a 21st century economy, the surest pathway into the middle class is some form of higher education. The unemployment rate for workers with a bachelor’s degree is just 3.3 percent — about half what it is for high school graduates. The typical graduate of a four-year college earns $15,000 more per year than someone with just a high school degree.

President Obama was completely surprised by the IRS scandal. And NSA scandal. Obama was clueless about the ObamaCare debacle. And Obama only learned of the VA corruption scandal, fraud and tardy treatment for vets from the media, which had chronicled his original outrage over unconscionable delays six years ago. [Snip] But, according to Obama, he was not surprised at all, not even mildly shocked by the nationwide, bipartisan outrage over his illegal swapping of the Taliban´s Terrorism Board of Directors for an American who not only volunteered for the U.S Army, but then volunteered to walk over to the enemy.

If this is Wednesday, it must be Brussels for the G-7 summit, which used to be G-8 until President Putin misbehaved in Ukraine. At any other time, the growing crisis on the Mexican border, with tens of thousands of unaccompanied young people crossing illegally into the United States, might dominate the news. Wikipedia has an article describing the six times Republican politicians suggested impeaching Barack Obama, the most serious of which was a hearing by the House Judiciary Committee “formally titled ‘The President’s Constitutional Duty to Faithfully Execute the Laws,’ that has been viewed as an attempt to begin justifying impeachment proceedings”. (Snip) The problem with the “Obama is unimpeachable” argument is that he has already been impeached as Leader of the Free World. Bill Clinton is by far the most admired president of the past quarter century, a new poll shows, underscoring how much he has done to burnish his profile since leaving the White House in 2000. Asked which president of the past 25 years they admired most, some 42% of respondents named Mr. Clinton in the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Annenberg Survey. That was more than twice the share that named any other president. The other three presidents of the quarter century all polled about the same: 18% said they most admired President Barack Obama; 17% named George W. Bush; and 16%

Hardly anyone accepts the IRS’ claim to have lost two years of Lois Lerner’s emails. Those most familiar with government record retention requirements, and the technology used, probably are the most skeptical. The supposedly lost emails cover January 2009 to April 2011, the period when Lerner is suspected of targeting conservative groups with heightened and invasive scrutiny. Those emails also pertain to communications Lerner may have had with agencies other than the Internal Revenue Service. That’s key, because many suspect that the Obama White House knew about, and may have coordinated, the targeting.

Highly organized and bloodthirsty, the radical Islamist army called ISIS took but a few days to subjugate the cities of northern Iraq as it dreams of taking over the entire country — while President Obama played it cynically cool. The group’s stunning, barbaric march prompted the President on Friday to offer to review a range of options because America has “a stake in making sure that these jihadists are not getting a permanent foothold in either Iraq or Syria.” Returned now to the White House from a long-weekend family vacation in California, the President must face the awful reality that he dodged
