Obama chews gum during D-Day
ceremonies, sparks Twitter outrage

Washington Times, by Kellan Howell

President Obama was caught on camera chewing gum during the D-Day ceremonies in France as Queen Elizabeth II was welcomed, and Twitter feeds worldwide exploded with criticism. “Obama and his chewing-gum. Classy” one French user tweeted sarcastically. “Not very elegant, the Obama attitude in the middle of the ceremony,” another user said, while yet another added, “Is there anyone who will ask Barack Obama to stop chewing on his gum like a cowboy?” The words “shameful” and “vulgar” were thrown around as social media networks lit up with outrage at Mr. Obama’s display. “Obama do you want a Coke too while chewing gum while

I remember the British royal family almost nixed Kate as a royal wife prospect because her mum was caught chewing gum at some horse event. In Europe, it´s Not Done.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are disgusted as heck, given the occasion. Self-centered narcissist doesn´t think anything is wrong with chewing gum at a D-Day ceremony. Why? Because it´s all about him.

While Michelle nags the nation about broccoli, her husband never did quit smoking.

The Nicorette gum is the only way he could get through a few smokeless hours.

In addition, being around so many actual patriots made him nervous.

I suppose we should be grateful his behavior wasn´t even more crude and crass.
Barry took a smiling selfie during Nelson Mandela´s memorial service and now he chews gum like Elsie the cow
during Queen Elizabeth´s D Day remarks
and the playing of La Marseillaise,
the national anthem of France.
Even if Barry was raised by rats, by now he should have figured out
how to behave in a decent and respectful manner.
He was the only world " leader " chewing cud.
We have 958 days until an American POTUS is inaugurated.
I shudder to think of the increasingly vulgar and gross behavior
Barry will display at solemn ,
non NBA occasions.

Nicorette gum is not supposed to be chewed more than 2 or 3 times at a time, then you´re supposed to park it between your gum & cheek til you need another fix or so I´m told.

Punk, absolutely. If he´d been able to find a way to display the soles of his shoes to the world, or rub his nose or preen his eyebrows with a middle finger, during these or any other solemnities...

His devotion to the seven capital sins (pride, avarice, lust, gluttony, and -- perhaps most of all -- anger, envy, and sloth) makes him the embodiment of evil. But incompetent? Only when left to his own devices. Otherwise, he´s very very good at doing whatever his puppet-masters order him to do.

As someone who lived in Europe for quite a while, I can tell you adult gum chewing is a hu-u-uge faux pas. Short of flicking boogers it´s the biggest sign of disrespect you can show in a business meeting, not to mention a solemn memorial ceremony. I´ve seen full orchestral rehearsals stopped when a conductor saw an (american) soprano discretely chewing. She didn´t do it again.
Don´t we have an office of protocol to tell JEF that?

Illegal immigrants are being secretly flown to Massachusetts and kept in local lockups in an under-the-radar operation that has alarmed lawmen who are raising health and security concerns amid recent spikes in detainees coming up from Texas during the latest border crisis. “We’re all becoming border sheriffs now with these people being carted all over the country,” said Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. It’s a travesty and people ought to be upset,” Hodgson said. “This is un-American and has raised the stakes to the public health and public safety threat.” Hodgson said buses from his

It’s not often that North Korean-flagged freighters turn up near America’s shores, but when they do, they deserve attention. North Korea has a prolific record of arms smuggling, narcotics dealing, counterfeiting, terrorist ties and missile and nuclear proliferation. First lady Michelle Obama grabbed the political reins during a speech to the League of United Latin American Citizens in New York City, telling the crowd of admirers not to worry — that her husband wouldn’t wait on Congress to take action on immigration reform. “So make no mistake about it — we have to keep on fighting as hard as we can on immigration,” Mrs. Obama said, to a cheering crowd, Breitbart reported. “And as my husband has said, he’s going to do whatever administrative action it takes to fix this broken system.” Mrs. Obama then vowed that Congress wouldn’t get

Friday on "Democracy Now," Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) attacked his "shameful" Republican colleagues for wanting to change the 2008 child trafficking law so that the children from from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador current streaming across the border in hopes of evading deportation will be treated the same as those from Mexico before approving the $3.7 billion in emergency funding the president has requested. The Illinois Democrat said, "I think it is shameful that in the Congress of the U.S. we see members of Congress engendering and creating fear of children. We should be protecting children, not creating fear of them." Yesterday,

The “ugly American” has gotten a lot uglier over the past few weeks, from the streets of California to the halls of Congress and state houses around the country. A growing number of our fellow Americans have taken on grotesque features, in looks and sounds, in reaction to the thousands of children from Central America who have crossed our borders as they flee poverty and violence in hope for something better. Sadly, the arrival of these youngsters has been greeted by flag-waving, sign-carrying, Bible-thumping and Constitution-quoting citizens demanding that they not be received here and that they be returned immediately to their

In remarks framed as a message to the American public, actor Jon Voight emotionally aired his political grievances for several minutes in a televised statement on Saturday. Those grievances range from (but are not limited to) Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the "targeting" of conservative filmmaker Dinesh D´Souza, illegal immigration, the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court case, the treatment of war veterans, the chaos in Iraq and deep reservations about President Obama. "Five years ago, I stated that Obama would take the country apart piece-by-piece, that he would cause a civil war in this country," Voight read on Saturday in a statement on

Inquiring minds wonder if there’s a “G” in the grading repertoire. And that does not stand for “good.” Pollster John Zogby has given President Obama an “F” this week for the White House performance on the global stage, and the researcher has no imminent good news for the president. “Some people have really bad weeks. Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff got an ‘F’ after the nation’s soccer team lost to Germany. But President Obama’s week was just as bad,” Mr. Zogby says. “Israel and the Palestinians are at war again. The president should have visited the U.S.-Mexican border, where so many immigrant children are in danger and so many
