´New generation´ Bush wows

FORT WORTH – George P. Bush, the GOP nominee for Texas land commissioner and icon of a new political generation in the party, extolled a cheering crowd at the Republican state convention on Thursday to resist Washington´s attempts to limit personal freedoms and continue reaching for new Lone Star successes. "Texas works. Washington, D.C. does not," he said, continuing a theme of federal-government bashing that repeatedly brought the nearly 11,000 delegates to their feet with applause in the opening session of the biennial gathering. "As great as Texas is today, we can do even better." Billed in opening credits as

Your family name got you the job. Your family name also makes everyone suspicious about your real beliefs. Just stay in Texas, where the real conservatives can keep an eye on you.

I like the man. I´m tired of the ´your no good your last name is Bush´. Conservatives love to quote MLK when he said, "I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Shouldn´t we apply that same principle to a man´s last name.

I´m sure George P. Bush is a fine upstanding young man.

Even his dad, Jeb Bush, served honorably as Governor of Florida. As did his uncle and grandfather in the many positions they held, including President of the United States.

But sorry, my "no more Bushes" platform started with George P.´s primary race and will continue this fall. I´ll probably vote for the Libertarian candidate in this race.

The greatest conspiracy in world history is being carried out by the real-life “Manchurian Candidate”: President Barack Obama. My definition of a “Manchurian Candidate” is a person who hates everything America stands for and whose goal is to win the presidency for the express purpose of destroying the greatest nation, the greatest economic system, and the greatest middle class in world history. That, my friends, describes Obama. I’m not basing it on rumors or innuendo. I’m basing it on the facts. I know liberals hate facts, but bear with me. So here are a few, which I lay out more

Marvel Entertainment announced on ABC talk show “The View” that Thor, the God of Thunder himself, is no longer worthy of wielding Mjolnir, the mystical Asgardian hammer. A woman — not yet identified — will now wield it, and that means we’re getting a female Thor. How did Thor become unworthy? Did he lie? Did he abandon his morals? He must have. “Only those of sound moral character and integrity may lift Mjolnir,” according to the Marvel Universe wiki. Without it, as we saw in the 2011 Marvel movie “Thor,” he loses much of his strength. Whoever wields the practically

Texas lawmakers responsible for redistricting the state’s legislative boundaries discriminated against Hispanic voters and tried to protect Republican incumbents, the U.S. Justice Department argued in a federal court in San Antonio on Monday. The redistricting efforts under fire are the state’s 2011 U.S. and state House districts, which were already thrown out by federal judges in favor of a map that included more Democratic-leaning districts, according to the Associated Press. Attorneys for the state denied the accusations during remarks for the case, arguing there was no concerted effort to discriminate and boundaries were drawn the best they could considering they

House GOP linking trafficking

House GOP leaders on Tuesday said they will insist that changes to a human trafficking law be included in any legislation responding to the wave of child immigrants crossing the border. Republicans have blamed the influx of children at the border on the 2008 law, which they say has served as an incentive for people to enter the United States. The law allows minors entering the country from Central America, but not Mexico, to request asylum hearings. President Obama has asked for $3.7 billion in emergency supplemental appropriations to care for people crossing the border, and to hire more judges

The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
