Ernst wins Iowa Republican
primary for US Senate

Des Moines, IA - State Sen. Joni Ernst has won the Republican primary for an Iowa U.S. Senate seat held for 30 years by retiring Democrat Tom Harkin. The 43-year-old Ernst won the nomination over five candidates. She´ll face Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley in the November general election. All the Republicans seeking the nomination described themselves as deeply conservative, but Ernst managed to stand out in part due to two television ads. One featured her on a farm, talking about her experience castrating hogs, and the other showed her firing a handgun. Ernst also received endorsements from a variety of groups and individuals,

And for some good news...and a change of pace. Nothing like a Tea Party woman packing heat (endorsed by Sarah Palin).

Fabulous news. The bold commercial about castrating hogs was brilliant. Congratulations to this awesome conservative woman. I have a feeling this one is gonna make her mark, not just occupy a seat and blend in. I do pray for that anyway!

Don´t you know by now that conservatives must let the establishment have all the glory? Theirs is the right to be kingmakers. We are the unwashed rubes who don´t know out place. They also have an uncanny ability to turn a good conservative candidate to the dark side once they get to Washington. Hopefully, Ms. Ernst won´t be fooled by their "help" when she wins the seat. We need men and women who are rock solid conservatives to turn this ship around. The status quo won´t fix what is wrong with Washington no matter what the establishment says. Go Joni! Stay strong and be proudly conservative! Folks are on to the establishment to along to get along types.

Oromney Care is such a huge success that Massachusetts is having to redo their state exchange. And now, by executive fiat, Obama is implementing measures to regulate green house gasses that Romney has also supported. The rules got rewritten since previous drafts. Now, each state will have its own target for power plant performance. NJ, which uses nuclear and natural gas as primary sources of power will need to cut CO2 by 40 plus percent. TX too which uses a combination of coal, gas, nuclear, and wind will need to cut 40 plus percent. Illinois which mainly uses coal only needs to cut 30%. How did the law that sets standards and demands that the state implement, get transformed so that the EPA sets individual standards for each state?

Thank you #16, I do get tired of the Conservatives eating our own, it´s why we have so much trouble winning. Dems stand together, we want to find the "perfect" one. It will never happen, and we never seem to get that fact and pull together. I am happy Ms. Ernst won, and pray that she will prevail.

OT but we had a victory of our own here. A good, young, upstanding vet won his bid for County Sheriff here over the exceptionally
corrupt current sheriff. That´s amazing considering it is pretty liberal up here. Good church-going man, and we are thrilled. But like those who wonder how much damage obama will do on his way out, we wonder how much damage the corrupt sheriff will do before the new one takes over. As for Brian´s win, we are thrilled!!!

#24 Some people just endorse on Facebook.
Others hold fundraisers and actually go out on the stump to campaign for the candidates.
Chris Christie held a fundraiser for Tea Party Steve Lonegan in New Jersey which raised $162,000 for him.
Romney campaigned for Ernst and held a rally for her.
Lindsay Graham campaigned and raised money
for many SC Republican candidates.
The national Tea Party groups spend the huge majority of the money they raise on themselves, their families and
big DC consultants.
Google " Tea Party PACs reap money for midterms , but, spend little on candidates " if you want to see the shocking facts from their SEC filings.
Ernst and Lonegan and Cuccinelli got much more financial help from Republicans than they did from the Tea Party.

Plenty of materials for a potential dirty bomb are likely scattered throughout the area of Iraq controlled by ISIS, and pulling off an attack that spreads even a minor amount of radiation could be a huge PR coup for the terror group, experts told FoxNews.com. Last week, the Iraqi government in Baghdad warned the UN that ISIS operatives had stolen 88 pounds of uranium compounds from Mosul University. Even though many experts said the research materials were not enough to cause widespread harm, spreading fear is even more important to terrorists than a big body count, one terrorism expert said.
