EPA Says ‘Science Is Clear’ as Agency
Imposes Tough New Coal Rules

PJ Media, by Bill Straub

WASHINGTON – The Environmental Protection Agency has imposed a set of new air quality standards on the nation’s coal-burning power plants aimed at slashing carbon emissions from 2005 levels by 30 percent within 16 years. The long-anticipated new rules, announced by EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy under the direction of President Obama, mandate that the power sector use cleaner energy sources and cut energy waste to address issues of national health and global climate change. They take effect in 2015. “Although we limit pollutants like mercury, sulfur, and arsenic, currently, there are no limits on carbon pollution from power

McCarthy is a liberal from Boston. She´s been saturated in MA politics and has never held a private job.
And she´s now running the EPA. Pathetic.

I think they meant to say "the science is settled"

Our government will destroy the coal industry out but - without admitting it - not allow the use of natural gas to replace it.

Using regulation the EPA and other agencies will deliberately stall and hinder any replacement generation that doesn´t both enrich cronies and reduce the middle class.

The very poor don´t pay energy bills directly, they will just expect more welfare when costs rise. The very rich won´t even notice their bills.

And the public sector will just give itself pay raises and decide to buy more guns and ammo because the natives seem restless.

Does this sound familiar? "Obamacare will SAVE every family money on healthcare costs. If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor."

All lies.

The science is very clear - "carbon pollution" is a total fiction. Carbon dioxide is colorless, odorless and not only entirely harmless to humans at the concentrations in the atmosphere. REAL scientific research has proven that it enhances plant growth, improving crop yields - well settled science.

Continuing to connect actual pollutants and health problems to "carbon pollution" is purely sleight of hand - a conjurer´s trick to fool the public.

Zero the budget for the EPA is the first move in response to this.

President Obama said Monday that the only reason that he has been successful in life is because of investments made by his family and his community. “[A]ll a young person needs is knowing that somebody cares about them and believes in them,” the president said Monday during an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan, the sixth that he has hosted. “I know I´m only here because a few people -- my mother and my grandparents and dedicated teachers -- took time to invest in me.” Absent from the president’s list of things that helped him get ahead in life is a bloated,

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is envisioning a time when cars will be able to talk with other cars or with America´s roads. He says such technology could prevent crashes, cut down on traffic and save gasoline. Obama on Tuesday will visit a federal highway research center in northern Virginia. The White House says he will highlight partnerships between the Transportation Department, auto-makers and the University of Michigan. The groups are developing and testing vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications technology. The trip is part of Obama´s push for Congress to shore up funding for highways and transportation. He says that´s key

Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
