Romney, Not Palin,
Picks the Winners in 2014

Daily Beast, by Patricia Murphy

Original Article

Posted By:Pluperfect, 6/2/2014 4:26:27 PM

If Mitt Romney and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce were baseball players, they’d be batting 1,000 in the 2014 GOP primary game. Sarah Palin? Not so much. She’s got a 33% track record so far. With about a quarter of the primary contests now over, the results of the cycle’s high-profile endorsements tell the story of the Republican Party itself, with an early surge of business-friendly Establishment-backed successes, a handful of Tea Party wipeouts, and plenty of scores still left to settle. The hottest hand in Republican primary politics so far belongs to none other than Romney, the 2012 Republican

Comments:
And...he doesn´t charge for his endorsements. Figure it out.

This article is evidence that the Left still fears and must put down Palin. Romney? Not so much.

It´s not hard to win elections when the RINOs fund your election.

Unfortunately, We The People are too busy working and paying our taxes to have enough extra money to fund conservative candidates at the level they deserve.

Just as a side note, we wouldn´t be in this position if Romney fought as hard to win the general election as he did the primary.

Silly me, I thought the purpose of endorsing a candidate was to support someone who is most inline with your beliefs. I didn´t realize it was to jump on the band wagon.

Thanks Paticia Murphy at the Daily Beast for setting me straight.

Well, at least the RINOs fund their candidates, which is more than can be said for the Tea Party Groups. Tea Party Patriots took in 7.4 million since 2013; it sent a whopping 2% of that to Tea Party candidates for these year´s primaries. Tea Party Express gave 3% to candidates--out of 7.7 million collected this cycle.

Got grift?

The 100% includes incumbents, who are hard to beat, and some very convervative Republicans who weren´t considered "Tea Party" candidates.

The 30% is a pretty good number against a well funded establishment, and again, that number doesn´t include some very solid conservatives.

The establishment has lost ground. We´re gaining seats, while they´re just keeping many, but not all of their seats. And even Mitch McConnell had to run a very different campaign due to the primary challenge he had. His conservative score actually is pretty good, and I suspect he will lead in a more conservative direction if he becomes majority leader.

Our system was designed to change slowly. We have to pick good candidates and work hard for them.

When I became active, my strategy was to back some of the low percentage situations. Palin is doing very well with her picks.

Why was I not surprised when I read who the OP is?

I am really getting sick & tired of conservatives dividing & being conquered. And Romney is barely a conservative at that. But he was the GOP nominee & I voted for him. Twice. And he lost. Twice. That´s one more loss than Palin who was saddled with McCain & excoriated by the press. If you´re counting.

I´ll consider anybody who is conservative & has character. Including Dr. Ben Carson. My congressman was nicknamed Dr. No bcz he was so conservative & he was gynecologist. He did a great job.

Don´t send any money to intermediary groups, send your money directly to the candidate you support. The tea party group leaders are living high on the hog using money they have "collected to elect more conservatives." There have been several articles about how little they use for their stated purpose, especially on Jenny Beth Martin. Everyone is susceptible to greed.

Romney had it easy, he picked the establishment in most cases, because they had the most money to support their candicity. Where there is no incumbant, the tea party had a better chance.

Romney didn´t win his own election, so why attempt to make him a hero of selections.

Patricia is calling the game in the second inning. Only 25% of the primaries are done, and Romney is her "winner" and Sarah Palin is her "loser". What an imbecile. For some unknown reason, Patricia "thinks" Romney is better, even though he completely lost a race in 2012 that he should have easily won, by following McCain´s 2008 campaign style. And Sarah Palin added at least 15 million more votes for McCain in 2008. But she is the "loser". What a ridiculous article.

No group or business ever has had start up cost before they were able to effectively deliver their product or get their message out. Hell, the GOP and NRC just magically appeared and were immediately in operation.

Funny how you never mention what is being done with the rest of the money. Just focus on 1 or 2 group leaders and then act as if they have gotten all the money that has been collected.

Lets compare salaries of Tea Party group leaders to Karl Rove and his ilk running things for the Republican Establishment.
While we are at it, lets compare operating costs as well. I have seen the FCC filings for the Tea Party groups which can be found at OpenSecrets.com for anyone to see. Instead of a random accusation, show us where the "graft" is.

I dare ya.

Then please enlighten us as to where the "graft" is and how that graft is defined.

How much was spent in the printing of fliers from printers? How much was spent on website creation and operation? How much was spent on rallies, lawyers, training, offices, wages, and equipment? Is this considered "graft"?

going by names, it seems Sarah Palin endorsed three men and three women. All the women lost, and one man. So another way of telling this story would be, Sarah Palin is trying to help other GOP women, who of course face some extra challenges. Not to fuss, but her evenhanded selection isn´t going to do as well as one that is mainly men. Not a problem. Just saying. And also that if she were a Democrat she´d be lauded to the skies for being edgy and taking chances and investing her own political capital like this.

Many have parsed what President Barack Obama’s critics mean when they charge that the handling of the crisis on America’s southern border is “Obama’s Katrina.” The president’s supporters are quick to note that this comparison is misleading and unfair. Hurricane Katrina drowned an entire urban center. American citizens died waiting for federal and state aid. Thousands of Americans, mostly of meager means, were trapped in a dying city. Some of them did not make it out alive waiting for their countrymen to save them. In that sobering moment, much of the promise of the United States was betrayed. It is

An operation to refloat the Costa Concordia, which has been lying off the Italian island of Giglio for more than two-and-a-half years, has begun. The operation got under way at 0600 local time, salvage experts said, with the refloating of the giant cruise ship expected to take several days. “The Concordia refloating operations have started regularly,” the authorities said. The refloat is being led by Nick Sloane, a South African salvage expert who was also in charge of hauling the vessel upright in a complex operation last September. “At 6 am the Senior Salvage Master, Nick Sloane, reached the Remote

The flood of underage--and many not-so-underage--illegal immigrants from the Central American countries of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador crested in the Rio Grande Valley, but now the waters are being diverted and channeled to other parts of the United States. Well, maybe that metaphor is a bit labored, but my point is that these young and not-so-young people are being transported to various parts of the country, to be put under the care of relatives, we are told, though it´s not so clear that the caregivers are always relatives. The influx of children across our southern border is troubling. First, because they are not all children — not by a sight — but images of children are useful for stirring emotions to muddy the policy waters. Second, because it is not all that unusual: As the Wall Street Journal reports, between 23,000 and 47,000 minors illegally entered the United States and were apprehended in each of the past five years; in 2013, we ordered only 3,525 deportations, suggesting that something on the order of nine in ten, or more, of minor illegal aliens — again, of the number apprehended — are allowed to stay. Winter reports that several dead children have been discovered “washed up along the riverbank” of the Rio Grande, but fails to note that there have been no reports by the Obama administration on this. This indicates a pattern of covering up dead illegal alien kids by the Obama administration. It was two weeks before news was reported on the sole child death acknowledged by the Obama administration, Gilberto Ramos, a 15 year-old boy from Guatemala whose body was found in the Texas brush dead from the

First lady Michelle Obama grabbed the political reins during a speech to the League of United Latin American Citizens in New York City, telling the crowd of admirers not to worry — that her husband wouldn’t wait on Congress to take action on immigration reform. “So make no mistake about it — we have to keep on fighting as hard as we can on immigration,” Mrs. Obama said, to a cheering crowd, Breitbart reported. “And as my husband has said, he’s going to do whatever administrative action it takes to fix this broken system.” Mrs. Obama then vowed that Congress wouldn’t get

The Illinois Democrat said, "I think it is shameful that in the Congress of the U.S. we see members of Congress engendering and creating fear of children. A growing number of our fellow Americans have taken on grotesque features, in looks and sounds, in reaction to the thousands of children from Central America who have crossed our borders as they flee poverty and violence in hope for something better. Sadly, the arrival of these youngsters has been greeted by flag-waving, sign-carrying, Bible-thumping and Constitution-quoting citizens demanding that they not be received here and that they be returned immediately to their

In remarks framed as a message to the American public, actor Jon Voight emotionally aired his political grievances for several minutes in a televised statement on Saturday. Those grievances range from (but are not limited to) Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the "targeting" of conservative filmmaker Dinesh D´Souza, illegal immigration, the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court case, the treatment of war veterans, the chaos in Iraq and deep reservations about President Obama. "Five years ago, I stated that Obama would take the country apart piece-by-piece, that he would cause a civil war in this country," Voight read on Saturday in a statement on
