Fellow soldiers call Bowe
Bergdahl a deserter, not a hero

CNN, by Jake Tapper

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 6/1/2014 11:06:42 PM

The sense of pride expressed by officials of the Obama administration at the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is not shared by many of those who served with him -- veterans and soldiers who call him a deserter whose "selfish act" ended up costing the lives of better men. "I was * off then and I am even more so now with everything going on," said former Sergeant Matt Vierkant, a member of Bergdahl´s platoon when he went missing on June 30, 2009. "Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him. Vierkant said Bergdahl needs to not only acknowledge his actions publicly

On the contrary. Old jug ears shoots plenty straight. After all he is a man-child who also hates America. Mooch also said it wasn´t until she could see her fat butt in the White House that she was never proud of her country. This vial pair, Holder, and most liberals want to destroy the fabric of the greatest country. Yes, until this group of sociopaths showed up this country was exceptional.

I think obama has been holding off this trade as a ´´change the subject´´ card for some time. With VA exploding in his face, now´s the time to try and use this card to clog up a news cycle or two. I don´t think the obama does ANYTHING without political purpose and value being the FIRST consideration.

And trading a troubled deserter for five extremely high value, dangerous GITMO terrorists is ridiculous. And sending them back into the field as we are leaving the field... beyond ridiculous.

obama is a clear and present and recurring danger to this country.

This a great example of a "war hero" for the Demon-RATS. He hates America and deserts in mid-war.

I´m sure the Hollyweird limousine lie-berals will make him the belle of the ball, and probably do a movie of his story.

And, of, course, there is the upcoming tour of lie-beral colleges.

The whole Bergdahl episode is turning into a giant scam. Obama´s minions and msm are telling us the reason Obama bypassed Congress in releasing five very dangerous prisoners from GITMO is because Bergdahl´s
´life was in danger´. What soldier´s life isn´t in danger in Afghanistan? Then it turns out Bergdahl is a self-described traitor. A perfect reason for Obama to pick this guy. Bergdahl´s parents are obvious Lefties. Meanwhile the msm cheerleads him as a hero probably showing us parades with everyone smiling. The whole thing stinks.

I see Bowe Bergdahl as a soldier who was extremely good at his craft who eventually became disillusioned. It´s also possible that he had psychological issues as there´s a degree of unpredictability in how he went about things during his career. I´m not saying he went completely off the rails but there´s evidence that things were not all right in his mind.

He spent nearly 5 years in captivity at hands of the enemy. This is suffering enough.

I see Bowe Bergdahl as a deserter who betrayed his fellow soldiers and his country. He was a guest and a fellow muslim to an Al Qaeda affiliate. He´s just another Johnny Walker Lindh.

It would make perfect sense that Dear Leader Barack Hussein is trading the Taliban leadership for a deserter. And that the swap was done by legally dubious or illegal methods. Absolutely perfect sense. Add to the ever-growing list of "possible impeachable offenses".

Since the Vietnam days, being a deserter of the American military has been, for the Left, a badge of high honor. There is no doubt whatsoever that Dear Leader Barack Hussein knows this, and feels it himself. And yet, he is allowed to remain in office...

And obama´s said in his WH speech for Bowe - with a qualifier and a straight face --- that America has a fine tradition of not leaving a UNIFORMED military person behind. If you´re out of uniform Americans like US State Dept or CIA left behind in Benghazi or a wrong-turn PTSD suffering Marine Afghanistan veteran chained down and beaten in a Mexican jail.... Well then, you´re on your own!!!

Poor trade on Obama´s part. And every time I think about this deserter and possible trader I get sick to my stomach. Six good men lost their lives looking for this scum and one of those men, a fine young soldier, one of the finest young men I ever had the privilege of watching to grow up and exceed a strength of character far beyond that of most was Staff Sergeant Clay Bowen. It breaks my heart knowing that he gave his life not only for this country but also to bring this AWOL soldier back and we have given back for this AWOL soldier return some highly dangerous individuals and enemies of this country. This isn´t why we we sent these young men to war and to die for this country.

One comment made by President Obama in his speech has not been commented on by the news, not even Fox: the fact that Americans leave no man behind. Meanwhile, Obama and Sec. of State Clinton left our Ambassador and defenders behind for 20 odd hours in Benghazi. While Obama went to bed to rest up for a campaign trip the next morning and while Clinton let Susan Rice hit the airwaves, Hillary being too tired after" a hard week." Politics, politics----ALL with the Clintons and Obama is politics, including Obama´s letting Bergdahl repatriate to get the focus off the VA.

When people say, "he has suffered enough after five years in captivity," I ask how you know he was in captivity.
He was an enemy sympathizer. To hear his father talk his son should have joined the peace corps, not the Army. He went to Afghanistan "to help the people there," but became disgusted with the mission of the military. He left his post looking for the Taliban. He found them and became a useful idiot for them. How does anyone know they haven´t conditioned him to cause harm to Americans when he returns to the US?

#19 The beard is a reminder. The father says he a while back said he would stop shaving until his son was returned. But apparently the entire Idaho hometown is deluded into thinking the son was some kind of person deserving yellow ribbons and a big homecoming, banners out already and waiting.

Sometimes I think obama and holder and a couple other regime wise guys sit around the oval office with a few beers, feet propped up on historic desks and chairs... Kicked back and thinking about how they can most infuriate and offend still well informed and still sensible Americans...

[Then Holder cracks himself up and tries to contain himself as he tells the group this Bergdahl trade he´s thought of.]
´´Hey, Barack. We trade this deserter for three --- no five! --- of the highest value prisoners in Gitmo. WITHOUT giving Congress the by-law 30 day notice. And get this... THEN we take Susan Rice off ice and send her around to a couple of the Sunday shows to say it´s our ´´sacred duty´´ to not leave Americans behind... Trust me, Barack, we´ll have the Right wingnuts running around with their hair on fire on this one. They´ll forget what V.A. stands for!!!´´

Well, they sure succeeded on this one. Helluva job, Barry!

#21, Good question, will Bergdahl take it upon himself to create some chaos here. With all the information coming out about him I can´t help but wonder which side he believes needs helping. Obama certainly appears to show a lot of mercy when it comes to our enemies but no so much when it comes to our men fighting for their lives in Benghazi. The five released are really bad guys and I am sure they are itching to get back to what they do best, kill Americans. Obama is either unbelievably naïve about what these guys are capable of or just ticketed off another box on his bucket list by freeing some of his peeps from Gitmo. By the way, didn´t he legally have to run this by Congress first?

We brought a soldier home in a way that damages America, and threatens the security of every other soldier in the field. Now give him the help he needs to return to society (although it seems he never was integrated there). A life was saved. If an investigation (and there may never be one) proves he deserted, dishonorably discharge him from the military and deny him its benefits and honor. Then prepare for the havoc wreaked by this act of poor judgment and executive insubordination.

The Bergdahl parents don´t ring true - that´s why I´m inclined to believe Bowe walked out of camp (unarmed) to aid the enemy. Isn´t that exactly what some stupid hippie save-the-world, hate America types would do? 0bama securing his release just seals the deal because if Bowe and his parents were America lovers, he´d still be with his "captors". And who forgets their native language? I don´t remember that ever being a problem with past POWs.

I don´t recall any previous Adminstration obsessed with its employees being forced to sign non-disclosure agreements. Oh that´s right - the most open and transparent Administration in history...

Obviously the parents didn´t educate their son too well because they confused the Peace Corps with the US Army.

You desert your post during a time of war, in a combat zone - you are no longer deserving of any respect or protections as an American citizen.

Back in the good-old-days of the 1940´s, when the USA was a real nation that could win the largest war ever fought on this planet in less time then it took Kathleen Sebelius to FUBAR ObamaCare, we would never have heard about exposing and infecting the five banana tally men with the MERS virus the day before they were swapped for our deserter, who was promptly sent to Leavenworth when the trade was completed.

According to article, burgdahl´s fellow soldiers were forced to sign a non-disclosure statement, but many who signed have defied it. That takes nerve given the vindictive nature of the traitors in power. The benghazi survivors are apparently to scared to come forward. Maybe Mr. Gowdy can convwhich raises questions about the possible threatening nature of the non-disclosures they signed.

I am sure that there was “hell to pay” when this confused and conflicted soldier left the safety of his “forward operating base.” (FOB) I would imagine that the other members of his unit were interviewed about his dis-appearance. Indeed, his sergeant was interviewed at length. And, of course, the officer-in-charge (OIC) was extensively interviewed.

Knowing the military’s propensity for forms, paperwork and duplicate copies of copies, I am sure that the “details” about this fool’s flirtation with the enemy are a secret for now. I am not sure if Judicial Watch can obtain these reports through a “freedom-of-information” FOI request.

However, I am sure that there are some angry soldier-patriots, knowing that Bowe “went Turk” who are now trying to dis-close these reports so that the world will know the darkness that is Soetoro.

From this article. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/americas-last-prisoner-of-war-20120607
By Michael Hastings dated June 7, 2012

"The Hill is giving State and the White House s...," says one senior administration source. "The political consequences are being used as leverage in the policy debate." According to White House sources, Marc Grossman, who replaced Richard Holbrooke as special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, was given a direct warning by the president´s opponents in Congress about trading Bowe for five Taliban prisoners during an election year. "They keep telling me it´s going to be Obama´s Willie Horton moment," Grossman warned the White House. The threat was as ugly as it was clear: The president´s political enemies were prepared to use the release of violent prisoners to paint Obama as a Dukakis-like appeaser, just as Republicans did to the former Massachusetts governor during the 1988 campaign. In response, a White House official advised Grossman that he should ignore the politics of the swap and concentrate solely on the policy.

The deserter will get rated 100% disabled by the VA and the noble warriors that try and tell the truth will lose their claims from the VA. This was a slap in the face to the millions that have fought honorably for this country and further proof that everything is now political. The truth is what they tell you.

Feral animals, which includes human bullies, can sense fear and weakness. Hitler knew this, and rolled over the gutless French, Dutch, Belgians with impunity. He flouted laws routinely. His generals were terrified when he grabbed Alsace-Lorraine, Sudetenland , and Austria. They had already decided to run like He//if they met ANY resistance. Our country has been on a downward spiral since boomers got away with sit-ins, and other bad behavior in the 60s. Ears has gotten away with bullying, and knows the eunuchs in Congress are too gutless to answer back. Gowdy, Paul , Rubio perry, where are you?

I’d really like to think that this young soldier faked his ‘desertion’; that he really is a U.S. spy, who secretly volunteered to be captured; that his parents are just playing the roles of aging hippies, and that he did his job so well, that all of the nation’s analyzing pundits have believed his charade.

However, so many of his fellow soldiers have come forward to reveal that they were instinctively wary of Pvt. Bergdahl – that they found many of his statements troubling; that they were cautious around him, and that they found him to be a little off kilter.

I’d still like to believe that Pvt. (now Sgt.?) Bergdahl could somehow still turn out to be a hero – unfortunately, current information makes it appears that he is most likely nothing more than a troubled, self-indulgent, irresponsible, and selfish dreamer, whose actions cost his nation terribly in both treasure and lives.

Obviously, Obama didn´t care about this deserter´s history and seemed not a bit shocked when Papa Bergdahl spouted out in Arabic. What a very strange press event that was.

Unfortunately, the most senior leadership of the military which was once an icon of integrity, honesty and honor, has become as corrupt and deceitful as Obama. Sad times.

In the foyer of the Central Intelligence Agency’s headquarters, there is a marble wall covered in stars. They are carved divots that represent those who have fallen in the service of the CIA. Below them, jutting out from the polished rock, is a black book entombed in a case of glass and steel. The book is a guide to the stars, giving the names of some of those who died and withholding the names of others. On the pages of the CIA’s Book of Honor are 107 hand-drawn stars organized by the years those officers died. For 2007, there is

Hamas is playing a dangerous

SO FAR Hamas’s military campaign against Israel has been a dismal failure. Thanks in part to Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system, some 1,200 rockets fired at Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and other cities have caused only one Israeli death and a few other casualties. Attempted commando attacks via the sea and a tunnel were stopped short, and a drone that ventured into Israel was quickly shot down. Yet Hamas on Tuesday rejected an Egyptian cease-fire proposal that was supported by Western governments and the Arab League and had been accepted by Israel. Why would Hamas insist on continuing the fight when

Sarah Palin is right about

Sarah Palin is right about impeaching President Obama. No, not that the president should be impeached. But Palin is correct in arguing that, for those who assert that Obama has grievously abused his executive authority, impeachment is the proper course of action. Of course this won’t happen, for the obvious reason that this tactic didn’t go so well for Republicans last time. Hence House Speaker John Boehner’s curt dismissal of Palin’s call for impeachment: “I disagree.” Boehner’s alternative — a lawsuit — offers the political benefits of draining impeachment fever from the more rabid Republican precincts while rallying the base

Israel’s pledge to intensify its military operation in the Gaza Strip could hasten the moment when the Obama administration will be forced to decide whether to use its leverage to corral its closest ally in the Middle East. Israeli officials, in a series of television interviews, statements and social-media venues, said Tuesday that Hamas’s rejection of a cease-fire offer validated the force it has used over eight days of conflict and made legitimate their argument for a wider military effort. The Obama administration appeared to accept that rationale, blaming the armed Islamist movement in Gaza for missing an opportunity to

The Pew Research Center, a subsidiary of The Pew Charitable Trusts, has the means to sample opinion with unique frequency and on a major scale. It has used its funds to track Muslim attitudes toward Islamism in general, toward specific terrorist groups in particular, and also toward suicide bombing over the past decade. The most recent study, “Concerns about Islamic Extremism on the Rise in Middle East,” released on July 1, conducted among 14,244 respondents in 14 countries between April 10 and May 25, 2014, holds much interest. Pew summarized the overall results: As well-publicized bouts of violence, from civil

President Obama told guests at the White House’s annual Iftar dinner tonight that “further escalation” in the Middle East “benefits no one, least of all the Israeli and the Palestinian people.” Faced with criticism from some Arab and Muslim activists who think he has been too friendly toward the Israeli side, Obama addressed the conflict near the end of his comments, which largely honored “the traditions of one of the world’s great faiths.” “For all of us, whatever our faiths, Ramadan is a reminder of just how much we share. Illegal immigrants in D.C. fail

Four out of five illegal immigrants seeking driver’s licenses under a new D.C. law have failed a written knowledge test — a rocky start to a program that in its first two months has issued 268 licenses, according to city officials. The failure rate of 80 percent compares with a 58 percent failure rate for people seeking traditional driver’s licenses, the Department of Motor Vehicles told a D.C. Council committee. In addition, a check of the DMV website this week shows a massive backlog in appointments required to apply for the District’s “limited-purpose license.” The first available date for an

President Obama has described his foreign-policy doctrine as an attempt to hit singles, doubles and the occasional home run. But at this stage of the game, it looks as though he has popped out, grounded into a double play and been hit by a pitch. His attorney general, Eric Holder, said Sunday that the threat of undetectable explosives from Syria is “more frightening than anything” he has experienced in office. And the Wall Street Journal ran a front-page article Monday reporting that “the breadth of global instability now unfolding hasn’t been seen since the late 1970s” and that “U.S. global

ASHKELON, Israel — The roar of sirens echoed across this sun-kissed city Monday afternoon, and in a heartbeat the woman in the pink bikini was out of the pool, shepherding her three young kids to the nearest shelter. Up above, the vapor trail of a rocket fired from Gaza, just 10 miles down the coast, ripped the clear blue sky. And then, a boom: The rocket had been shot down. The kids jumped back in the seaside pool, and their mother returned to her tanning. Through it all, the lifeguard had barely stirred. Such is the dichotomous reality this week

In a stunning rebuke of President Obama’s tepid calls for Israel to show "restraint" in response to daily rocket fire on Israeli civilian targets by Hamas terror redoubts in Gaza, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, long considered Israel’s best friend and strongest defender, all but condemned President Obama by name for what he regards as Washington’s irresolute support for Israel during its time of grave crisis. In perhaps his most strongly worded statement to date, Prime Minister Harper proclaimed that self defense is "not merely an Israeli right" to be exercised only in the abstract, but an "Israeli obligation" that

Ponder for a minute what AFSCME has done. The union has severed ties with the United Negro College Fund because the Koch brothers contributed $25 million to the fund. Or rather, because the fund accepted the contribution. The money will pay for 3,000 scholarships and other needs. To read about this episode, go here. The hatred whipped up against the Koch brothers has become nearly frightening, I think. It is undemocratic, unsettling, intolerant. Maybe it is time for a shake-up. President Obama’s second-term staffing was always going to be a risk. He abandoned his first term’s team of rivals for a closer-knit team of loyalists. The bet was that he was assured enough in the job to no longer need the in-house challenge — and that smooth-running consensus would compensate for the loss. The bet isn’t paying off. Overseas and at home, the administration seems besieged and befuddled. Obama is in danger of cementing an image of haplessness that would be hard to undo. The administration was surprised when Russian President Vladimir Putin

In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
