Boehner eyes mid-June immigration vote
American Thinker, by Rick Moran

OK gang - let´s all hold hands and, on the count of three, jump off the cliff together. The GOP is now officially on a suicide watch. Can we say it agin, this time with feeling? 1. Passing an immigration bill in the House means a conference committee with the Senate and their "comprehensive reform" bill. No matter what the GOP passes, we are going to get the Senate version shoved down our throats. 2. Passing immigration reform will not bring one single Hispanic voter to the GOP side, and will alienate a few million conservatives. 3. The bill is

Comments:
If Boehner and the Republican Establishment do this you can kiss any prospect of getting the grassroots to the polls in November and beyond buh-bye It would be the Pièce de résistance of proof that the Republican Establishment is bought and controlled by the Chamber of Commerce and K Street lobbyists. Anyone defending this insult if it happens should be immediately scoffed at and treated like the clueless idiot they think you are.

Forget Boehner. It´s clear that he´s a clown with a bad fake tan. The real question is what´s the problem with the rest of the House Republicans that they continue to keep this clown as their leader? Do they like being led over a cliff to their doom and ultimate shaming?

#4, it´s hardly paranoia. Can you cite any instances of his brilliance or dynamic leadership? Any example where he outsmarted the machinations pf the Democrats, rallied his beleaguered forces, stood up for principles and made a stand? Anything?

This is a battle for the very soul of this country. We desperately need courageous, principled leaders. Boehner is not such a leader.

#6, when has this pubbie ´leadership´ ever been accused of being ´smart´? Boner is more afraid of the tea party candidates upsetting his cushy deal than of any harm he may do to America. He does not have to live in the same disintegrating society he is apparently willing to hasten the demise of. The ´elites´ are not affected by the results of their actions - the rest of peons do, but what difference does that make to the gods in Washington? Boner is part and parcel of the whole Washington ruling class - he plays his part (think the Washington Generals to the Harlem Globetrotters - they play to lose) and he keeps what power he has. Tea partiers threaten that - they want the Washington Generals to actually play to WIN!

How Boehneresk to wait until after the Primaries to vote on Amnesty. In my opinion, Rick Moran is correct, this is the "suicide watch". Demoralizing for Conservatives who love their country and oppose Fundamental Transformation.

Amnesty is a obsolete political concept that will never solve the illegal alien situation because it serves to encourage masses of new illegal aliens to come to the USA.

Some politicians think that a future de-facto open borders policy that will allow hundreds of thousands of would be illegal aliens to enter the USA each year as so-called "guest workers" will solve that problem. Of course those "guest workers" and huge numbers of their foreign family members would then get to stay here permanently. But what they are proposing is a distinction without a real difference, as Americans who do pay taxes will end up subsidizing the lives of that new minority group indefinitely, ask yourself does this country really need millions of new low wage earning leaf blower operators with large families? The vast majority being put on a streamlined path to duel citizenship thus becoming Democrat voters.

If the Republicans facilitate anything like that they will be committing long-term political suicide.

Former Rep. Todd Tiahrt is a man on a mission — to reclaim the Republican Party for earmarkers. Tiahrt represented Kansas´ 4th district for 16 years, and for 14 of those years he sat on the House Appropriations Committee. From that perch, Tiahrt was a prolific porker, dealing out earmarks as if they were playing cards. In 2010, when Sen. Sam Brownback stepped down to run for Governor, Tiahrt ran for the open Senate seat but lost the GOP primary to his House colleague Jerry Moran. Lawyer and businessman Mike Pompeo took Tiahrt's place. Now, Tiahrt wants his seat back and is challenging Pompeo in the 2014

At the eleven minute mark of this 15 minute interview, Kansas Senator Pat Roberts is reduced to a stumbling, bumbling pile of a 47 years in Washington incumbent who can´t manage to coherently explain why he doesn´t actually live in Kansas anymore. And perhaps the worst of it is when he admits that he does click his heels together to go back to Kansas on occasion .... seemingly only when he gets an opponent. Roberts may not have distinguished himself as that much of a wizard in D.C. over the years but if a slot opens up in Oz, perhaps Dorothy will consider him as a write in after hearing this embarrassing performance.

In 1776 Americans declared themselves independent of more than arbitrary rule by a distant monarch. They also severed the ties of aristocracy. This was in itself a revolutionary notion. It meant that political power, its attendant privilege and economic advantages would no longer be transferred by the blood. Earldoms, dukedoms, and kingdoms were banished from the territory and from the future of the American people. The citizen became the self-identifying unit of self-rule. The generation of English colonists who gathered together in the summer of 1776 to declare their independence from the English crown knew that they had exhausted all other remedies.
