Cochran Accidentally Calls Obamacare
´Important Effort of the Federal Government´

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Matthew Boyle

Original Article

Posted By:mikkins2, 6/1/2014 5:59:31 AM

When Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) goes on the record with reporters, it always seems to bring a surprise or two. This time, in an interview with veteran Washington Post reporter Dan Balz at a campaign stop, Cochran accidentally called Obamacare “an example of an important effort by the federal government to help make health care available, accessible and affordable.” “I’m glad to be involved in that effort,” Cochran added. According to Balz, Cochran was asked how he evaluated the state of play over the health care law. But afterward, a Cochran adviser phoned Balz to claim it was a mixup.

Comments:
The fact that Cochran needs Dan Balz to try to spin his answer on Obamacare should tell the voters of Mississippi all they need to know about the Establishment dinosaur. He knew he was talking about Obamacare and gave a truthful answer. It was only after his handlers got word of what he said and then realized how damaging it was did he all of a sudden get "confused" as to what the question was about.

Got McDaniel?

Attempting to understand Cochran´s position on anything is like attempting to know "Who´s on first."

I would suggest skipping the rant of Matthew Boyle and click on the link to the underlying story from the WP.

FTA (WP) Cochran personifies almost everything the tea party dislikes: longevity in Washington; comity and compromise rather than confrontation; a record of winning earmarks that hardly qualifies him as a champion of small government or deep spending cuts.

Indeed, Thad appears to be "porkmeister" extraordinaire. Some would call that a flaw. In Mississippi, I suspect they call it a feature.

I am not a resident of MS but am pretty sure either candidate would be well into the right wing camp.

Three strikes just in this article alone against Cochran. One, he "confused" Obamacare with the VA scandal. Two,he claimed an ad in his name, against his opponent, was from an outside group that he had no control over. Three, he gave away the place he calls home when referring to his mistress. He said she was popular "back home."

In 1776 Americans declared themselves independent of more than arbitrary rule by a distant monarch. They also severed the ties of aristocracy. This was in itself a revolutionary notion. It meant that political power, its attendant privilege and economic advantages would no longer be transferred by the blood. Earldoms, dukedoms, and kingdoms were banished from the territory and from the future of the American people. The citizen became the self-identifying unit of self-rule. The generation of English colonists who gathered together in the summer of 1776 to declare their independence from the English crown knew that they had exhausted all other remedies.

It would be a lot easier for conservatives to tolerate the sanctimony of Republicans In Name Only (RINOs) if they weren’t so hypocritical — or in the case of Mississippi RINOs — despicably hypocritical. ‘Moderate’ Republicans never tire of telling us conservative extremists how they are inclusive and ready to reach across the aisle to get things done. While we are exclusive and alienate and people that disagree with us. Well the Sen. Thad Cochran campaign got things done in Mississippi all right and in the process of building their ‘big tent’ party the RINOs turned race–baiting 180 degrees. Formerly in Mississippi and

Earlier this year, the conventional wisdom was that the moderate establishment had taken control of the GOP back from the Tea Party and other "extremists." With Dave Brat defeating House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Chris McDaniel receiving the plurality of the votes in the primary for Senate in Mississippi earlier this month it appeared to be reversed. Now, with Cochran’s defeat of McDaniel in the runoff and my loss to Bob Beauprez in the Colorado gubernatorial primary, many are calling the deaths again. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has asked a pro-Thad Cochran Super PAC, called Mississippi Conservatives, to provide additional information about what the newspaper Roll Call said “appears to be campaign finance violations.” At issue are last-minute expenditures made by the PAC in the days before the initial June 3 primary. The FEC “Request for Additional Information” says the PAC does not appear to have disclosed some of its spending in a timely manner. The FEC notes in the letter sent to treasurer Brian Perry that failure to “adequately respond” by Aug. 1 “could result in an audit or enforcement action.”

But mainstream media seem uninterested in the story. The only outlet outside of conservative media covering the story is Forbes magazine. On July 1, the magazine explained what the penalties might be if Fielder´s allegations prove true. Conservative election integrity organization True The Vote filed suit in federal court Tuesday against Mississippi’s Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and the Mississippi Republican Party, asking a judge for an immediate injunction against them so that the election material from the state’s June 24 GOP primary runoff can be inspected. The lawsuit comes as allegations that Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-MS) campaign and his allies engaged in voter fraud to win last Tuesday’s runoff against conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel. Cochran bested McDaniel by fewer than 7,000 votes but did so with an overwhelming turnout from liberal Democrats in the black

The change was not publicly announced but was described in an instruction book available to lawmakers on how to fill out the forms. Legislators will still have to report details about their travel on the House clerk´s website, which is less commonly monitored by reporters, watchdog groups and others than the financial disclosure reports. That information is publicly available and is far more specific than the one line that -- until now -- they have provided on their

President Obama has, except on fleeting occasions, routinely disdained the customary Oval Office language of compromise and coalition-building for the low arts of sophistry and belittlement. That was to be expected, given his background as a Chicago community organizer and product of that city´s corrupt Democrat political machine. But Obama has far exceeded dismal expectations. No previous American president employed the systematic distortion of fact and mendacious characterization of opponents that have typified Obama´s presidency. His "so sue me" speech last week is a classic illustration of the community organizer practicing Saul Alinsky´s 13th rule: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize

The headline of today’s jobs report, that 288,000 jobs were created in the last month, is positive. At least, it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. However, as with most economic reports these days, there is a veneer of good news — but when you look closer, the White House is using the positive headlines to hide the growing deterioration of the American workforce. I’m sure by now people are tired of reading about the bad news, and I’ll admit I am weary of having to blow the whistle and expose the truth every
