Fast food CEO: Minimum wage
hikes closing locations

CNBC, by Katie Little

Original Article

Posted By:FL_Absentee_Voter, 5/30/2014 5:27:31 PM

CKE Restaurants´ roots began in California roughly seven decades ago, but you won´t see the parent company of Carl´s Jr. and Hardee´s expanding there much anymore. What´s causing what company CEO Andy Puzder describes as "very little growth" in the state? In part it´s because "the minimum wage is so high so it´s harder to come up with profitable business models," Puzder said in an interview. (Snip) If the federal minimum hourly pay shoots up to $10.10 from the current $7.25-as many lawmakers and President Barack Obama are advocating-Puzder predicts fewer entry-level jobs will be created.

Comments:
Puzder points out what the low-info crowd (and many politicians) don´t understand: Minimum-wage standards are intended to prevent companies like his from paying entry-level workers a buck an hour. Over the years, however, liberalization has twisted the interpretation to mean a "living wage" such that everyone working fast food and other service-industry jobs can have bling, the latest 4G smart phone, and enough leftover cash to party on weekends.

Young workers are being laid off and small businesses are closing, but the airheaded liberal politicos are all busy congratulating each other on their compassion for the little guy.

Remember, Libtards assuage their conscience with the thought that their intentions were for good; even though their every decision and program makes things intolerably worse than they were.

Most Republicans support a minimum wage. Their goal in life is to get us to socialism 6 months later than Democrats will.

Fast food restaurants will switch to automated models. That means a lot less jobs.

A vending machine costs less than $15/hr, and is never late for work.

The old saw about job security, make yourself indispensable, works both ways.

#5 is right. I already see kiosks replacing people. The morons who propose the hikes have never run a business. They don´t realize your FICA payments are based on wages. Your unemployment insurance payments are based on wages. You raise the minimum wage you raise all kinds of other expenses. Those expenses have to be paid whether business is good or bad. Kids don´t get hired. You hire someone who brings more than minimum qualifications to the table. Your hoping they can bring some added value to the job that a first timer can´t. Raising the minimum wage shuts people out of opportunity. It´s Un American!

Lo-fo will get their $15.00/hr, without thinking that they´ve contributed to the increase in cost of living for their loved ones. They are the very people who´ll bankrupt this country for lack of financial foresight or prudence.

And #8, here in NJ Union contracts are tied to the minimum wage as well.
So up goes the min wage up too goes the Unions prevailing wage.
We are on the road to hell and both parties are making sure we do not deviate from that path.

Further to #8 and #12: When the prevailing union wage goes up, up goes the mandatory percentage of union dues. When the union dues go up, up goes the amount of money that finds its way to the union´s favorite political party.

What happens after that is left as an exercise for the reader.

NEW YORK — Coca-Cola says it will drop a controversial ingredient from all its drinks that contain it, not just Powerade. The Atlanta-based company says brominated vegetable oil is still being used in some flavors of Fanta and Fresca, as well as several citrus-flavored fountain drinks. (Snip) The trend toward natural foods has prompted some to steer clear of ingredients or chemicals that sound unfamiliar, even if they´re approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration and have been used by manufacturers for years.

Maryland moms and dads will now have to be more vigilant when their children use public bathrooms. It will soon be legal for a man who simply says he identifies as a woman to use the ladies’ room. This serious risk for sexual assaults of women and little girls is all in the name of political correctness. And this is just the latest in a string of successes by the transgender lobby. (Snip) The most dangerous impact of this new law is that a man cannot be stopped from going into a women’s bathroom, locker room or pool changing room.

Stephen Jin-Woo Kim pleaded guilty in February to sharing classified information from an intelligence report on North Korea with reporter James Rosen, Fox’s chief Washington correspondent. A Fox News exclusive reported this morning by Jana Winter inexplicably buried the lede. Winter reports that several dead children have been discovered “washed up along the riverbank” of the Rio Grande, but fails to note that there have been no reports by the Obama administration on this. This indicates a pattern of covering up dead illegal alien kids by the Obama administration. It was two weeks before news was reported on the sole child death acknowledged by the Obama administration, Gilberto Ramos, a 15 year-old boy from Guatemala whose body was found in the Texas brush dead from the

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security.
