Goodlatte: No Current Plans To Pass
Immigration Bills Before August Recess

Breitbart London [UK], by Caroline May

But Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and the most influential Republican on the issue outside of House leadership, said there are currently no plans to bring immigration bills to the House floor before the chamber departs for summer, heading into an election season abyss. “I am not aware of any such decisions,” Goodlatte said Wednesday when asked about bringing immigration legislation to the floor before August recess. Goodlatte also said that while there have been discussions about how to address 11 million illegal aliens already in the country, “there is no concerted plan with regard to

Goodlatte´s comments on not passing an amnesty bill in the House is positive news. Now Congressional Repubs have to find a way to have Obama enforce the immigration laws that he, his AG, the head of TSA and other cabinet officers have sworn to uphold but have consistently ignored. Protecting the rights, safety, jobs and incomes of US citizens has to come far ahead of the alleged rights of illegals.

It is positive news #1; but, it´s only news, and ´news´ belies intentions. I´m at a point where I believe very little of what is promised or said by most politicians, whether they be democrats OR republicans.

Republicans would be nuts to move immigration this year. All it could do would be ruin their election chances.

"current" could change by noon today.

Goodlatte is my Representative. He is establishment and a team player. With Eric Cantor´s primary still a week away he would never say it was up for a vote at this point. He spoke like a typical politician, as he is, and gave himself plenty of wiggle room. I don´t trust him, even though I would like to. If he was primaried I would vote for his opponent. He ran on term limits, six terms I think. Of course when his time was up he changed his mind. That was several terms ago.

Facilitating any liberal Democrat designed amnesty will eventually result will eventually hand the Democrats tens of millions of new foreign born voter in the years ahead that will ultimately cause the Republicans to take a slide into long-term political suicide. By continuously making statements to the effect that if the Republicans do not go along with such an amnesty that Obama will himself institute his own de-facto amnesty the liberal Democrats are simply trying to pressure the Republicans to get along by going along with some sort of Democrat amnesty. Obama has no authority to institute any amnesty.

Amnesty is an obsolete political action that will not solve the illegal alien problem, but will simply encourage more mass uncontrolled illegal immigration on into the future. We can see that now with the huge influx of illegal alien children who are being smuggled into the USA in response to the liberal Democrat "Dreamer" amnesty proposals. The Democrats are saying that illegal alien children arriving now would not qualify for their current "Dreamer" amnesty in an attempt to fog up the situation, but in reality all those many thousands of illegal alien children being smuggled in now would serve as a predicate for another and more liberal Democrat pushed "Dreamer" amnesty in a couple of years.

Republicans that want to keep their jobs had better forget about any Obama legislation, quit talking about the Obama agenda, and start talking about something that matters to conservatives.

As Hamas rockets continued to fall on Israel even after Jerusalem accepted the Egyptian ceasefire proposal at 9 A.M., Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that if Hamas does not accept the ceasefire than Israel will “have all international legitimacy to broaden the military operation to achieve the required quiet.” Netanyahu, speaking at the beginning of a meeting in Tel Aviv with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, said that Israel “agreed to the Egyptian proposal in order to give an opportunity for the demilitarization of the Strip--from missiles, from rockets and from tunnels--through diplomatic means." The prime minister, in his first public comments

The Libyan government has said it was considering calling for international forces to help re-establish security, after a flare-up of violence in the capital Tripoli. "The government is looking into the possibility of making an appeal for international forces on the ground to re-establish security and help the government impose its authority," a government spokesman said in a statement. It also said the forces would help protect civilians and prevent anarchy. The statement comes after deadly clashes Sunday with armed groups led to the closing of the main international airport in Tripoli, which has come under rocket fire.

Hamas rejects ceasefire with

Hopes for an end to the bloody week-long conflict in Gaza hung in the balance on Tuesday when Israel accepted an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire only for Hamas, the Palestinian territory’s de facto rulers, to reject it. The early morning decision by Israel’s security cabinet came before a 9am deadline for the de-escalation of hostilities kicked in. The Egyptian ceasefire plan was to give both sides an initial 12 hours to stop attacks. But prospects for the proposal to take hold appeared to diminish when Hamas’s leadership bluntly declared itself opposed to the terms, with the group’s military wing

Israel has accepted an Egyptian truce proposal for the conflict with Gaza. Hamas, which controls Gaza, has not formally responded. But its armed wing has rejected the plan as a "surrender". Under the terms, the ceasefire should begin immediately, followed by a series of meetings in Cairo with high-level delegations from both sides. Palestinian officials say at least 192 people have been killed by Israeli air strikes launched eight days ago to stop militants firing rockets into Israel. There have been no Israeli air strikes into Gaza since the 09:00 ( 06:00 GMT) truce, but at least one rocket has

Have a look at this recent BBC interview with Al Gore. Then, once you´ve cleaned up the sick, consider what it tells us about the current debate on climate change. I´d suggest two things. 1. The mainstream media still isn´t doing its due diligence in exposing the scam. 2. (And this is a consequence of 1.) Charlatans like Al Gore are getting away with murder. "The science doesn´t support that view" declares Gore airily. And instead of challenging Gore on what this "science" of which he claims to be the gatekeeper actually says, the journalist smiles indulgently and moves on

The U.S. government´s latest attempt to stop illegal immigrants crossing the border comes via the radio. As part of a new multi-million dollar ´Dangers Awareness Campaign´, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection campaign commissioned a catchy Spanish song to be written and produced to discourage families in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador from sending their children with smugglers to cross the U.S. border through Mexico. That song--La Bestia--has subsequently become a major radio hit in Central America, with its legion of fans unaware it was created to ´teach´ them something. Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
