Famed Former CIA Agent Claims Snowden
Has Been In Contact With Russia Since 2007

Daily Caller, by Giuseppe Macri

Distinguished former CIA officer and author Robert Baer said on the BBC’s “Today” radio program Thursday morning that ex-NSA contractor Edward Snowden has been in contact with the Russian government for the last seven years. “My suspicion is that the Russians were probably in touch with him in Geneva,” Baer said, speculating they first made contact in 2007 while Snowden was stationed in Switzerland with CIA. “I can’t prove it. But this was such a brilliant operation. And his landing in Moscow just makes old Cold War warriors like me very suspicious.” Baer also dismissed Snowden’s assertion on his first U.S. television

"...I can´t prove this, but..."
Just part of the organized sliming of Snowden by the status quo.
Sure, how he did it was wrong.
But what he says is right.

I´m sorry, this doesn´t pass the simplest logic test. If he was in fact a stealth super spy for Russia, why would he out himself? Answer: he wouldn´t. He´d keep his mouth shut and keep on spying on.

In any event, whatever his motives were, his revelations have been both the most important to the ordinary citizens of this country and the most shocking. Think about it...our government, against the explicit protections of our constitution, spies on virtually every communication by every citizen of this country. And furthermore, now that this has been exposed, it continues to do so. Without shame. Without explanation. And without any serious objection by any of our representatives or courts.

Exactly what country did we just wake up in and find ourselves in? This is not America.

Articulate, soft-spoken, logical, reasonable, earnest, boyishly cute, unassuming, deeply philosophical and moral...could a casting director have come up with a more perfect Snowden character?
But remember: he´s an admitted spy, trained in the art of deception.
So what to believe? He tells us ONLY what he wants us to know...things that help build his case. He says he´s still working for the government, but then redefines that as a personal moral mission. Which is true?
He could be a rogue agent, who just reached a tipping point and toppled. If that´s the case, why haven´t China or Russia pursued him. He could also have been in contact with Russia since 2007 as Robt Baer claims, who knows? Or he could just as easily be a US govt operative, sent out as a type of bullseye of sorts, supposedly carrying all sorts of intelligence secrets in his backpack...why not test our adversaries´ surveillance techniques?
So he told us we´re all being spied on by our government. Big whoopee. Was that something that we didn´t already know? Do you really think that Merkel et al had no idea we spy on them? Do you think they don´t do the same to us?
Now he tells Brian Williams he wants to come home. Could it be there´s some secret agreement and we´ll never know the details? Do you think he´ll soon be working as a DIA/NSA/CIA consultant again, "helping" the government to close some of the loopholes he found? Wouldn´t that just be the perfect job for him?
Chances are we´ll never know for sure exactly what Snowden´s mission was.
Always remember: spies are actors. It´s what they do.

Horse puckey of the highest order

Glenn Greenwald in an hour long interview I heard has it correct ..

"They always trash whistleblowers. And then say, like it´s a cue card for parrots, national security has been harmed, national security has been harmed, national security has been harmed. But never once do they give concrete examples. Edward did give concrete examples. They never do. What else does an intelligent person need to understand the situation?"

Just yesterday there was a story about someone who tried to blow the whistle on the NSA the "right" way. No one heard a word and the guy is still paying. That is why they have a "right" way to blow the whistle - to be sure no one will hear it.
Since everyone heard Snowden´s whistle all they can do now is try to discredit him. Tell you what - instead of trying to attack the messenger why not fix the problems he exposed. I notice no one is trying to discredit the message.

Propaganda is the lying of the state, perpetrated systematically, condescendingly, upon the peasant class, also known as the Lo-Fo class.
Shock after shock tests the gullibility of all citizens.
Snowden´s seeming act of "civil disobedience", could have been nothing more than a reverse act of propaganda. Tell the people we are all being spied upon, day and night. Create a grand commotion. Flee to Russia, while neither the citizenry nor the government does one single thing to end the new revelation of state spying. Right now, America believes it and accepts it, along with all the other successful acts of propaganda.

Go back. All big, huge crises, must first be looked upon as tests of the effectiveness of propaganda (state lies that all people quietly come to accept). The Patriot Act is one fine example of quiet acceptance following a massive crisis, no matter who caused it too happen.

The man who pulled the trigger that produced ´The Shot Heard Round The World” was also a ´Traitor´, according to those who were the ´Powers To Be´ at the time.

Snowden has done more of a patriotic service to the American citizen by outing Washington than he has done a traitorous disservice to the Marxist/Commie/Fascist POSs in DC who are trying to record and analyze anything and everything about each and everyone of us.

Cannot you realize the Patriot Act has been used in a manner never intended by Congress?

Cannot you understand that this administration is operating outside of the law?

Cannot you even spell Nazi, Stasi, KGB and Gestapo?

Cannot you see where in hell we are headed?

Maybe if one of your precious RINOs were in the WH, we would have more privacy and personal liberty.

But for some reason, I don´t think so.

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” ........... Benjamin Franklin

This regime are the tyrants the founders warned against and Snowden has merely shown the light on them!

Obamacare is the purest form of propaganda!
Never, for a minute, meant to work or serve the people.
It´s function, solely to propagandize, condescendingly, convince all the peasants, that only the State can totally
control and dominated every detail of your medical health.

And like the NSA propaganda crisis, now most Americans ACCEPT that we are being spied upon, whether it´s actually true or not. The reality is, the act of propaganda, if that´s what it was, created the condition that it is now quietly accepted by all.

Why would a Russian asset reveal themselves?

Perhaps to manipulate a democratic government into curtailing intelligence gathering. Or perhaps Snowden had done all he could before being revealed.

Regardless of opinions of constitutional law, due respect must be accorded to Russian intelligence capabilities. During the Cold War, Soviet spies held top positions in the US and UK intelligence agencies.

Traitor or Patriot?

Seems like he provided his own answer in the countries he "fled" to -- China and then Russia.

Why not go to a neutral or allied country? Why not go to Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland? It seems any of those countries would´ve provided refuge to him.

The fact that he chose two huge violators of human rights, not to mention, two countries that absolutely DO spy on their own citizenry, just seems to speak volumes.

"Patriotic whistleblowers" do not flee to Hong Kong and Moscow with plans for landing in Cuba. The Chinese and Russians have already gleaned whatever might be helpful. Even now Snowden is lying about his NSA email and the circumstances that he says prevented his leaving Moscow. He´s a liar, a thief and has betrayed his country. In addition, he is a deluded blowhard.

Yes, our Revolutionary heroes were all branded as traitors, and to attempt to make them one with Snowden is appalling and disgusting.

Baer is not a reliable source:
-He left the CIA in 1997 for work as a tell-all book and script writer. I doubt the CIA would let him in on anything important given their 17 year separation, and that he´s now a member of the chatting class.
-Among his literary achievements: one book condemning Saudi Arabia as corrupt and destined for overthrow, and another advocating a partnership with the Iran.
- He´s a member of the "Truther" conspiracy club.
Go and Wiki is lousy butt if you don´t believe this.

Hmm ~ must do logon when posting message not just as a standalone ~ leaves empty space.

Actually, I blew the whistle on the way the phone companies connive with every city, town, township, county and state in the nation to SPY ON YOUR PHONE SERVICE.

AT&T actually led the way into this morass by encouraging state legislatures to write legislation beneficial to them so that they could walk in with a simple printout that would convince the judge that you owed your bill.

Everybody who collects taxes, or depends on them, agreed this was the right way to do it.

Snowden and his handlers in Moscow don´t want you to stop doing that through local governments hence their recurring attempt to divert your attention to the 4th amendment.

It´s just a head fake.

Time to rescind the AT&T rules and do this differently

#21:

I am also appalled and disgusted!

First point:

Neither Hong Kong (China) nor Russia have extradition treaties with the U.S. They were semi-safe havens for Snowden.

His presence in either country definitely had negative connotations but was otherwise immaterial because they gained nothing of importance that they didn´t already know.

The rumor about him going to Cuba was just a rumor, or a head faint, and nothing more.

Second point:

If any of you Anti-Snowden posters think for one minute that China or Russia learned anything new based on the contents of Snowden´s laptop, you are delusional.

Their espionage and computer network hacking capabilities are easily equal, and possibly superior, to our NSA´s capabilities.

They have been eavesdropping very deeply into our government and military internals for years while Russia has been our technological partner in spooking the Muzzies since 911.

What we do and how we do it is common knowledge within the international security world and much of what we do is as their partners.

There are many countries with black faces because of Snowden´s revelations and it is going to get much worse before it´s over.

Third Point:

If any of you Anti-Snowden posters think for one minute that Snowden is more of a traitor to America than Obama and his lackies are, then it is apparent to me that you do not have a clue!

What is more detrimental to America?

What Snowdon has done to the government or what Obama is doing to America?

Snowden gave our government a black eye with little practical consequences while Obama is giving us a Puss-Infected-Wound that will take years to cleanse from our country.

Snowden kicked sand in Obama´s face while Obama is in the process of destroying the very fabric of America!

Federal employees, like all Americans, are entitled to hold passionate political beliefs. Most executive branch federal employees, however, may not engage in certain political activities, thanks to an anti-conflict of interest principle enshrined in a federal law called the Hatch Act. To wit, President Bush requested the resignation of his GSA administrator in 2008 after the US Office of Special Counsel determined she had violated federal law by participating in a video conference with Karl Rove and sending out partisan letters. That’s how all Americans should feel when it comes to ObamaCare -- because Barack Obama’s failed and discredited campaign promise to lower health insurance premiums has cost the average American family an amount equal to the price of many new cars. During his 2008 campaign, one of then-Senator Obama’s most audacious promises was that his health plan would reduce premiums by $2,500 for the average family. The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
