University appeals bias

A North Carolina university that lost a seven-year legal battle over bias against a conservative professor has decided to file an appeal, citing the “potentially excessive” cost of reimbursing him for attorneys’ fees. The University of North Carolina Wilmington issued a statement Thursday estimating that a federal judge’s ruling in favor of instructor Mike Adams, a criminology professor who was granted tenure, back pay, damages and attorneys’ fees in April, could cost the public university more than $1 million. “We do not believe it is appropriate to require the taxpayers of North Carolina to underwrite such potentially excessive

Comments:
They cite excessive attorney fees as the reason for appeal and yet the taxpayers will be stuck with a huge bill for the cost of the appeal. No one ever said leftists were smart.

Just like the libs--they LOVE attorney fee clauses when the ACLU, CAIR and environmentalists use them to extort money from businesses, but then whine when they get used against them.

This whole thing could have been avoided if the university had just followed the famous words of Jim Carrey from Liar Liar, "stop breaking the law axxhole!"

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

On October, 2011, amid a lethargic economic recovery, President Barack Obama – a man who prided himself on ending wars, not starting them – touted his foreign policy successes. Beyond the successful raid that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden, Obama noted that he had successfully solved two thorny international puzzles; ending the war in Iraq and successfully prosecuting a brief campaign to stem the violence in Libya.
