Serial ‘Tickler’ Breaking into
Boston College Students’ Homes

Boston Globe, by Katherine Clarke*

Original Article

A man has been breaking into the homes of students who live near Boston College and watching them sleep or tickling their feet, police and several alleged victims have confirmed. Police report at least 10 sightings of the so-called Tickler, who some in the neighborhood had long believed to be a myth. At least three students report having encountered him on the same night, April 7. “This is no myth,” said Sergeant Michael O’Hara, community service officer for the Boston Police district that covers Allston and Brighton. “It’s happening.” The Tickler has been reported over the last two years in

Apparently, the Boston Tickler has no fear of anyone confronting him with a firearm when he enters a home. Notice that there are no Texas Ticklers?

My ribs have been counted, maliciously, by much older guys (when I was about ten), whom I would try to kick in the face--and occasionally connect with a jawbone or a chin--or by my college girlfriend, who was just trying to provoke a gentler response, which always worked.

FTA: He said he and his housemates now lock all their doors.

O’Hara said many students living off campus leave their doors unlocked, however.

Boston College is not an inexpensive school, to be sure, and kids that attend there are (I always thought) are smarter than average.
Well, until I read this. Boston is and long has been, a very rough city, with crime even in the "nice" parts.
So what the heck are these ´smart´ kids thinking - leaving their doors unlocked? Hey kids, why not just throw your wallets and other valuables into the street? Holy macaroni.

Chestnut Hill, where Boston College is located, has a very low crime rate. A resident´s chances of being a victim of a violent crime in any given year are less than a half of one percent. But this is weird. I´d guess it´s a nutty student. A young black man in a hoodie illegally entering apartments to tickle the feet of other males? His defense will be that it was performance art.

Many years ago, a man would call where I worked and torment one girl by saying he wanted to tickle her feet. Finally, by working with her, he told me. I said Wait.
Everybody here wants to hear you say that again on speaker phone. Ended that.

Tase his tickler a few times.

Is this for real? 14 century Irish song Cunla has this verse:

Who is that down there tiddling the soles of my feet?
"Me, myself" says Cúnla.

Fact or Fiction ? Good song in any case

Hillary Clinton continued to justify her high-dollar speaking fees on Friday, telling ABC News’ Ann Compton that all of the money she’s made from colleges over the past year and a half has been donated to her family’s foundation. “All of the fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation for it to continue its life-changing and life-saving work. So it goes from a foundation at a university to another foundation,” Clinton said when asked about the criticism she and her husband have faced recently for their wealth. Hillary Clinton reportedly makes roughly $200,000 for each speaking engagement. And recent reports show

Americans aren’t just innovators. We’re perfectionists. In honor of the nation’s 238th birthday, here are the top nine things Americans have perfected. 1. Waffles and pancakes: Everyone thanks Belgium for their delicious waffles, and by all means, we Americans commend them. But half of the wonder of waffles is the glorious mess you can put on top of it. It’s not just syrup anymore. You can thank Americans for the massive globs of heavy whipping cream, chocolate chips, bananas, walnuts, cheesecake filling and coconut shreds. We’re not fat. We’re happy.(Snip for photo) 2. You really can never be too careful. It was two days before the Fourth, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission trekked out to the base of the Washington Monument to blow things up. Patience and reliability are the defining characteristics of successful leadership in the Senate. Good Senate majority leaders work through the rules of the Senate, which protect minority rights, to find a way to please a majority (or possibly a supermajority) of senators and move legislation and nominations to passage. They keep their commitments to open debate, even when their partisan colleagues would prefer to use simple majority power to crush the minority and avoid tough votes or compromises. The Senate once prided itself on being “the world’s greatest deliberative body.” That it no longer is. According to the Congressional Research Service,

Thanks to the freedoms guaranteed in our founding documents, we enjoy the one of the highest standards of living in the world, we boast the number one economy, and few of us ever have to worry about where our next meal is coming from. Clearly, we have it great as Americans. To further illustrate how good we really have it, here is a list of 20 things happening in the world that will give you perspective on why we should be especially grateful to live in the land of opportunity and freedom. 1. In Ethiopia: Many women have to walk four to five miles per day to get something as simple as water for their families.

WAIANAE, Hawaii — For over 50 years, Senator Daniel K. Inouye, a Democrat, was the closest thing modern-day Hawaii had to political royalty: He began representing the state in Washington two years before its most famous citizen was even born. As he lay dying in 2012, Mr. Inouye asked the governor, Neil Abercrombie, to appoint Representative Colleen Hanabusa, a protégée and the daughter of a gas station owner here, to fill his seat. But Mr. Abercrombie, a fellow Democrat, disregarded that deathbed request, choosing his lieutenant governor, Brian Schatz, as the interim senator instead. Eighteen months later, the decision to defy one

During a recent break in her national book tour, Hillary Clinton sat at her kitchen table in Chappaqua, N.Y., rubbing her forehead. She had been experiencing splitting headaches and was finding it increasingly difficult to hide the throbbing pain in her head while doing television interviews. ABC News’ Diane Sawyer and NPR´s Terry Gross had asked Hillary some tough questions—about her wealth and her position on gay marriage—and Hillary had badly bungled her answers. What’s more, sales of Hillary’s memoir, “Hard Choices,” for which she was paid a reported $14 million, were alarmingly disappointing. After selling 80,000 copies the first week,

While it may not be the most pleasant experience in the world, most consider the prodding and mild discomfort of a routine pelvic exam to be an essential part of preventive health care. But now the American College of Physicians (ACP) is challenging the need for this practice. On Monday the group published a new set of guidelines that recommends against annual pelvic exams for healthy, non-pregnant women. After a review of studies conducted between 1946 and 2014, the ACP concluded that the risks posed by

Technically speaking, consumer fireworks are illegal in Florida. President Obama’s displeasure with gridlock in Washington — and with the Republicans he blames for it — has been rising for months. This week it has boiled over. From the Rose Garden to the Cabinet Room to near the Key Bridge in Georgetown, the president has signaled more than mere annoyance at the state of affairs at the halfway point of this year. His disdain for congressional Republicans has steadily increased; his disrespect for their tactics has hardened into contempt. That was to be expected, given his background as a Chicago community organizer and product of that city´s corrupt Democrat political machine. But Obama has far exceeded dismal expectations. No previous American president employed the systematic distortion of fact and mendacious characterization of opponents that have typified Obama´s presidency. "Every student in this country needs some higher education, whether that´s two-year degree, a four-year degree, or professional training of some sort." Mrs. Obama went to the annual meeting of the American School Counselor Association in Florida to thank counselors for taking on a demanding job without the resources necessary to meet the challenges. They, in turn, made her an honorary school counselor.
