Ben Carson Gives Blunt Explanation
Of Why The 2nd Amendment Is Vital,
And It’s Hard To Disagree

Independent Journal Review, by Caroline Schaeffer

Hosting Sean Hannity’s radio show, Dr. Ben Carson gave a frank take on why the 2nd Amendment is so important. A caller asked Carson’s opinion on the Administration’s attempt to “gut” the 2nd Amendment, and he came back with a brilliant response. via CNS News: “…the real reason that [the Founding Fathers] put it there is recognizing that there could come a time when our government itself could go off the rail, and could try to dominate the people, and the people would need a mechanism of defense for themselves,” he said. “I would never allow the Second Amendment to be jeopardized.”

Oh puleezzze. If the second amendment is so sacred why do we have a gigantic standing army? Why do we have paramilitary police forces everywhere? The Founders were dead set against what we have now - giant full time armies keeping us safe.

The 2nd Amendment is there for protection against our government. Our military is there Our founders understood that the American people possess a collective military might that is greater than our military´s.

It´s significant that the types of guns the left would most like to eliminate - the modern semiauto sporting rifles they like to demonize as "assault" weapons - are exactly those that would be the most useful should a citizen uprising prove necessary against a rogue government. Number 5 has it exactly right: the Milita Act of 1792 clearly defines the "unorganized militia" as every able-bodied man between the ages of 18 and 60, who were expected to own a weapon and use it in time of national emergency. The "organized" militia were the state militias, or what is now the National Guard. The founders did not see a need for a standing army and argued against one, having just seen how a standing military had turned Prussia into what has been described as "an army with a country".

For WTP to be able to come together for purpose of using force against an tyrannical government training and munitions are required. This requires something more than a squirrel rifle and some m80 firecrackers. If the 2nd is ever to truly be preserved and ready then those between the ages of (?) need to be trained and outfitted. Without such, it´s just all talk ... mostly about whether your squirrel rifle is legal or holds too many rounds, they have already taken away your m80s. Can it work? Does it? Sure, ask the Swiss.

A little off topic: I always thought it was Lincoln who consolidated the armies of the "states" to form an army of the "Nation". It seems to me that after the War Between the States (aka, The War of Northern Aggression) the states´ armies withered.

n case you didn’t already believe that MSNBC’s Luke Russert is cable news’ biggest dudebro, he may have sealed the deal while filling in for Andrea Mitchell today. Just after 12:30pm ET on Friday, Russert brought on Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) to discuss the partisan gridlock in Washington. King began going after a Republican Congress that “insists on suing the president” and “refuses to do almost anything” but only got to answer one real question before he was ushered off the screen. After speaking to his guest for a total of about 60 seconds, Russert cut the interview short to

The Centers for Disease Control tells us that in recent years there has been a jump in the percentage of young people diagnosed with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, commonly known as ADHD: 7.8 percent in 2003 to 9.5 percent in 2007 and to 11 percent in 2011. The Clinton Foundation and the terror group Hamas share a key donor: The government of Qatar, a leading backer of terror groups that has emerged in recent years as Hamas’ chief financial lifeline. Qatar, which has been designated by the State Department as a “significant terrorist financing risk,” has pledged more than $400 million to Hamas since 2012 and has long harbored one of the terror group’s senior leaders, Khaled Mashaal. At the same time, Qatar has sought to curry favor with elite Westerners, donating between $1 million and $5 million through 2013 to the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton

Illegal immigrants pouring across the border could trigger a wave of lawsuits flooding the U.S. court system for years and costing taxpayers millions, according to legal experts. The American Civil Liberties Union has already sued the federal government to ensure that each of the 60,000-plus unaccompanied children who have come across the border since November gets taxpayer-funded representation at deportation hearings. But legal advocacy groups who represent illegal immigrants could file additional suits alleging improper treatment at the hands of the government. And with the system overwhelmed, there’s little doubt corners are being cut. “You can bet there is a
