Gun Control Won´t Stop
The Next Elliot Rodger

American Spectator, by Jeffrey Lord

Original Article

Posted By:Toledo, 5/27/2014 9:03:12 AM

This time the shooter is 22-year-old Elliot Rodger. Like clockwork, the cry goes up blaming the National Rifle Association and calling for tougher gun laws. But this time there’s a problem for believers in gun control. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gave an “A-” to California´s gun control laws, passed as they were by one of the most liberal state governments in the country. On December 9, 2013 — barely six months ago — the Los Angeles Times was pleased to report the following, beginning with this headline: California has toughest

Another Godless, over-medicated, violent video game junky, i.e. liberal spawn. That is the one common thread in all of these acts of mayhem.

Will the libs ever admit that it is their own hedonistic culture that leads to this insanity? Absolutely not. They will focus their rage on inanimate objects and blame others. They should try a mirror.

Unfortunately, it you could seize a liberal policy-maker by the nape of his neck and show him the truth about human nature and how to rightfully deal with it, it would not make any difference to his skewed perception of reality. He cares only about control of law-abiding citizens, not the lawless.

It´s no news to people with sense and who follow the issue, but gun control is the Utopian means to disarm the serfs.

It´s getting harder for me to believe that the libs don´t high-five each other whenever a tragedy like this happens. Then they run from their offices waving yet another ´tough´ gun control bill. For our own good.

Everyone who purchases a gun through a legitimate gun dealer has to go through a background check. The ATF form upon which the background check is based asks the applicant a number of questions. One question relates to mental illness. No dangerous mentally ill person like Rodger who is building up to his date of retribution is going to tell the truth on that form, an act that they know would keep them from taking possession of the gun they wished to purchase.

The only way, besides a database of thought to be dangerous mentally ill people, that people like Rodger can be discovered is if the background check asked them to either list three references or list the identities of the people with who they reside. Then you would need the capability to contact each of the references or the people with who the applicant resided. That would be a very daunting task that would entail hiring another bureaucracy, but when you look back on all these mass shooting cases involving dangerous mentally ill people every one of them had people who resided with them, or had acquaintances who they might list as references, who knew that the person was a nut job who should not be able to purchase a gun.

Lie at Heart of “Immigration

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Nadine Gordimer, the South African writer whose literary ambitions led her into the heart of apartheid to create a body of fiction that brought her a Nobel Prize in 1991, died on Sunday in Johannesburg. She was 90. Her family announced her death in a statement. Ms. Gordimer did not originally choose apartheid as her subject as a young writer, she said, but she found it impossible to dig deeply into South African life without striking repression. And once the Afrikaner nationalists came to power in 1948, the scaffolds of the apartheid system began to rise around her and could not be

Here are some excerpts from Attkisson’s interview: “You know, times I’ve been encouraged to begin covering stories about the Obama administration but then mid-stream I’ve been clearly discouraged from continuing to pursue them as the stories seem to start to get dicey, or as I seem to be able to turn up very good

I considered going out to look for the damage, but I knew nobody would be in the streets at that hour. Nobody would be able to direct me in the direction of the bombing. Last week, conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt interviewed Zach Carter, who is The Huffington Post‘s senior political economy reporter. The interview’s purpose was to discuss Carter’s negative response to Hewitt’s previous interview of former Vice President Dick Cheney. The interview was lively and interesting but it did not go well for Carter, who was forced to admit his ignorance of the historical context of the situation in Iraq. Looked at one way, the interview might almost seem like pointless point-scoring. In response to Hewitt’s questions, Carter admitted he didn’t know who Alger Hiss was and that he hadn’t read The Looming

Mark Zuckerberg’s immigration reform push had all the capital, connections and star power to merit success. But not even Silicon Valley could make this investment — and the Facebook founder’s first foray into national politics — pay off. Tech leaders poured millions into FWD.us, an immigration advocacy group that has dominated ad buys, launched elaborate hackathons and coddled conservatives in an effort to revamp the country’s immigration system. It galloped into the debate with the tech industry’s classic certainty but wound up facing the same obstacles that have halted reform for decades.

Sarah Palin wants to impeach Barack Obama. In an op-ed article published last week, the former Republican vice presidential nominee declared that the crisis on the southern border (where young illegal immigrants are being detained) "is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, ´No, mas´." Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
