Lord Obama

If we were living in normal times, the following scandals and failures — without going into foreign policy — would have ruined a presidency to the point of reducing it to Nixon, Bush, or Truman poll ratings. Think of the following: the Fast and Furious scandal, the VA mess, the tapping of the communications of the Associated Press reporters, the NSA monitoring, Benghazi in all of its manifestations, the serial lies about Obamacare, the failed stimuli, the chronic zero interest/print money policies, the serial high unemployment, the borrowing of $7 trillion to no stimulatory effect, the spiraling national debt, the customary

If the writer thinks a republican will follow Obama, he is mistaken. Jesus could run as a republican and he would carry the electoral college.

FTA: ...when Obama leaves office, and should he be replaced by a Republican president, then we will see a press playing catch-up, intent on restoring its shattered image by exposing cabinet members who violate the Hatch Act and the insidious revolving door between Wall Street/ banking and White House billets.

Don´t bet on it. They´ll continue to blame Bush and Republicans, and they´ll do everything to assure Obama´s image is not tainted.

This is chilling. And we knew that most of the minorities and the college kids worship Obama, however, didn´t realize that the very wealthy do also. We just have to ride it out until 2016. Hope Rush sees this article and spreads the word!

#3 No doubt Rush will read Hanson´s article. Its basic message is something Rush has been talking about for quite, which is that only the good intentions matter of the Libs matter, not the results.

Not surprised that the very wealthy support their smoking messiah. When driving through urban McMansion neighborhoods during election seasons, all the yard signs are for democrats. They vote democrat and put their kids in private schools.

Depressing, indeed. It seems that the objective of the Left is to confiscate the wealth of the politically incorrect, end upward mobility of ordinary Americans (in other words, end the American Dream), and destroy the middle class, leaving a broad lower class and a small cadre of fabulously wealthy people with progressive attitudes. Obama has gone a long way toward accomplishing the Left´s dream of a classless society headed by an elite that "gets it." Withing fifty years the America we born into will not be recognizable unless the electorate at large manages to grow some brains. Considering the paucity of educational excellence in government schools, that´s just about been rendered impossible. Where else can we go to live in freedom?

The press will treat Obie´s Presidency on a ten to one basis with FDR. They loved FDR and betrayed his Presidency, as a perfect, do no wrong, eight plus years and depicted him as the best President a man could be or that America could expect.

But then along came Obie, and to the socialist, who is more than just a mortal man but of a being that demands god like respect and prevelege. His magical charm will lead us to the socialist utopia of the poor and the ultra rich. The ultra rich will need to have special treatment because of their of their dedication to the poor and stupid. Utopia´s are only meant for the elitist, you know.

I agree that His flock of sheep will never, ever abandon Him. They didn´t twice vote for Him in Hopes of Change, but in dreams of revenge. Dreams that are being realised.

No, I take that back. There is, in fact, one thing Barack Hussein could do that would make His flock of sheep turn away: instead of his Intentional Decline agenda, he could decide to uphold his oath of office and work for the best interests of the USA and all Americans, red or blue. If he ever did that, the migration of "progressive" voters away from Him would be monumental.

#6 I´ve been calling it "neo-feudalism" for some time now. Since America was born, the elites of Europe and the elites of our country have been striving to regain that kind of society ever since it became obvious to them that the 18th century merchants of England were going to rise a middle class and make them compete for control.

The elite HATE being made to justify themselves.

I flip between 1) Obama being the ultimate tool of conspirators or 2) he´s just an aberration with great timing and America´s love of celebrity. Either way, he´s been elected 2X. No doubt he gets a pass from the Big Boys of Media for his ineptitude. I am hoping, HOPING, he is JimmyCartered before he leaves office. Nice guy, but over his head.

Great article even if it is depressing. Our country is at war with itself. There is a great divide that I am not sure can be even breached. It is a deep philosophical divide. You have the traditional view of self-reliance and entrepreneurial spirit that has made this country great and then you have the progressive view that is driven to rule over the rest of us. They do not understand the live and let live attitude when it comes in conflict with their world view, any opposition must be crushed.

We are facing a battle on all fronts and the left is willing to do whatever it takes to win. The next couple years will determine the future of this country. Either we succeed or our country will be lost to progressive ideologues. Traditional America is hanging by a thread today. We are at another crossroads in our history and this one may be the most Important one yet. Wars have come and been won, but none like this one. The very soul of this great country is at stake and the odds are not in our favor.

I disagree.
Sure there are mopes rich and poor alike that will never abandon their allegiance to this guy no matter what, but 0bama is only a real man of the people the way Kim Jong Un is a man of his people.
Once 0bama´s boot is off our necks and a decent American is put back in the office we could see another morning in America. All the things are there to make it happen except a leader. Poking holes in 0bama´s legacy should be as easy as shooting lame ducks in a barrel. We just need the right man or woman to do it. Let´s just pray that person emerges in time.

The political combine that could bring a rootless, shallow, shifty non-achiever like 0bama to power, not once but twice, indeed has an iron grip on our political and electoral process. The heart of this grip is cultural but enhanced by unscrupulous lawlessness.
The fear that they will not easily give up and try to pull yet another one is valid. The Republican leadership, however, seems blithely unaware or uncaring about the political perils they could be facing. Only a few leaders like Cruz, Palin or Paul look like they have have caught on.

Hanson notes that O has the support of the poor, the very rich and the press. Even more depressing, he has the unions and the very politically stupid liberals of the middle class as well--the people who are basically assisting in their own demise. I should know: I have a cousin and a brother, who are not rich by any means and whose IQs are likely higher than mine, and they have never wavered in their support for O, no matter what he does.

The problem is that about 60% of Americans do not follow what is happening in their country. As long as there is pizza and beer in their fridge, they are content. Those who vote make up their minds to do so the day of and decide based on the last thing they recall a candidate saying. These folks are easily influenced and cajoled into voting and the left has a much better machine to get these mooks into the voting booth.

Ladies and Gentlemen: let us please change the question. The progressive looks at a problem, says "should the Government take care of this problem", and answers yes.
Wrong question.
Correct question: "can the Government take care of this problem?" The answer is NO.
Proof: Pick any Bill, any Agency, any Program. Intentions: wonderful. Results: disastrous. Wind farms violate the Endangered Species Act by killing protected birds. Aid to Families with Dependent Children produces more endangered children. Farm price supports produce fewer crops at higher prices. Ethanol uses more imported fuel and generates higher carbon emissions. The recently "discovered" VA scandal graphically shows us the future of Obamacare.
I could write a whole book about this, but I will stop.
Government fails because the information pathways are too long. Watch a small bird sometime. See how quickly they alter their flight path. They can do that because the nerve pathways are short. Then watch an elephant. Much slower, no? Looking to DC for a solution in the Aleutians is futile. The pipeline is just too long! Can´t be done.
Schools were better when schools were local. Farms were better when farmers made their own decisions.
The solution is the machete. Chop out the Federal Bureaucracy. Just end it. Let us be free again. Please.

Brilliantly, VDH writes out a Bill of Particulars, the details of the two Obama protected classes, (1) non working takers of tax money who are the base of Obama´s socialism (it´s NOT liberalism; that´s a falsely used word please remember) and (2) the very wealthy who are protected from all of Obama´s Communist disruptions.
Both these classes have one thing in common: neither are moving up, living the American Dream. They are totally stagnant in mind set and status.

The rest of the hardworking middle class, the way VDH sees it, are caught in Obama´s attack on the freedom to choose. He wants them all to suffer.

But what VDH misses is easily observable: this middle, working class, he describes, is actually the most inventive, innovative class (good taste or bad mobile home taste) ever to be found in history. This Tea Party class IS UNSTOPPABLE ! They have produced the outspoken likes of Ted Cruz, Trey Goudy, Scott Walker, Bobby Lyndal, even the soft spoken Rand Paul, Chris Christie and the smashingly successful Texas governor, Rick Perry (despite the fact that he is so soft spoken as to be ineffective when he goes national).

And we have more assets VDH has overlooked: the New Breitbart internet Media that´s exposing truth of government crime at precedent setting, amazing, Drudge Report speed. Add to that the most successful conservative talk radio industry with pillars like Mark Levin, Paul Savage
Rush, Glenn, Sean, Larry Elder, Dennis Prage, that go out daily, hourly, to MILLIONS of the working class all week! And for the first time, the most powerful innovation in truth, Rupert Murdoch´s FOX TV NEWS! that has outdistanced all collectivist driven networks and cables !

VDH offers a long list of reasons for the lockstep worship of the kenyan fool, but he hits it on the first point, general shallowness and stupidity of both the lower class and the leftist elites. Government controlled education in this country has done its job well. What the bling and gaga class consider "cool" in obama, we consider disgusting. What they consider well-deserved entitlements, we consider robbery of working taxpayers. A man they claim is a brilliant president, we know as a sleazy flim-flam man with a greedy, racist family and a thoroughly corrupt administration. The freebies will always attract the lazy and the promise of unachievable pie-in-the-sky, peace on Earth and green living will snag the pseudo-intellectuals every time.

#14 has the optimism we need. This damage Obama is doing is just temporary, no matter how bad it seems. Oh, Obama is trying to burn the bridges but America can´t be kept down. Perhaps when people saw the devastation of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Berlin, etc and never imagined a comeback but just look at where they are today! Obama is trying to poison the well for good with his immigration reform bs but it won´t work.

Re the press catchup: has anyone noticed one of the lame, sycophant network nightly news shows mysteriously stopped carrying "The Fleecing of America" series, since Obama lied his way into office? Oh it will be back after a pub wins in 2016.

Anyone notice that Obama´s clothes are sizes too big? He cannot fill the clothes, ironically he cannot fill the requirements of his office either . Ie: no budget, no Inspectors General(gee, wonder why? Lol. When he wears a suit it looks like a curtain draped over a cross.
Leather bomber jacket looks like Jr in dad´s clothes.

Just adapt to Obama for now: go around, over, through. He is a nothing whose dictator laws should be ignored.
He be gone soon.

Hanson lays out all the major Obama misdeeds, that´s why we call it a Bill of Particulars, all the Obama crimes against the citizens of America.
He totally misses the major act of CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE started by the controversial SNOWDEN. He misses several of the precedent setting books now being published. He misses
the whstleblowing of an actual television network personality
he has overlooked, what will turn out to be the major event,
the turning point event, in Amerian history: the whistleblowing of a whole class of vital American heroes, the war wounded veterans who have died needlessly and all the other wounded vets and all the families of all those vets. They are all coming out, finally, whistleblowing, telling the world that communist bureaucratic medicine cannot work. This should be enough middle working class excitement to bring out even more whistleblowers, from Benghazi staff on the ground, a few honest people in the IRS, more honesty from NSA, a complete exposure of
the sanctity the Catholic Church and all Catholic politicians give to the 20 or 30 million catholic alien invaders they are smuggling into this country. Much more!

And so it is, the believing Christians and Jews, the Tea Party, millions of honest gun owners, the millions of strong, small businesses that employ most Americans the truck drivers that deliver EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE,
FedEx and UPS that have outdistanced the crumbling Post Office, The whole working America IS RISING UP non violently, against Obama´s muslimized Marxism !
Believe it, it´s NOT liberalism, it´s basic Communism, with all the propaganda as written in the books about Lenin.

Wounded Vets whistleblowing will kill Obamacare, before Obamadeath kills millions of Americans.

If the productive American middle class up and moved to say Australia it would not be long before the USA turned into what amounts to a third world country. Then an Obama type could be King, the rich would still be rich, but the money would not be there to pay off the underclasses by way of social welfare, and without job creators to tax trouble would really start.

Hanson rings the ugly bell of truth. He explains in great detail how someone with such ruinous policies can keep their approval numbers above 43%. Essentially we have large segments of the population with the same skin color who will not abandon him no matter how much his policies harm them. Then we have a much less pardonable group of elites who earn enough from his cronyism they aren’t negatively effected by his ruinous policies. It’s the second group that forms much of the public opinion of the country: media, academia, Hollywood, high finance, foundations, etc. Snobs rule!

The level, breadth and depth of corruption and mismanagement emanating from this White House is breathtaking, and it´s difficult to believe it´s been going on for over five years and still appears to be running at ´full speed ahead´.

True his supporters won´t leave him but they are not great in number. The rich are influential and the poor are signed up for the duration but the vast middle class would overwhelm them were it not for the trick they´re using to suppress it. Like #17 pointed out, white guilt is rampant in the middle class and the left exploits it ruthlessly to close down any dissent. They don´t even bother to try to make a logical connection to their accusations, if you oppose any of Obama´s policies you oppose Obama and so you are a racist period, no exceptions, no excuses. And people shut up. No president of a different color would have gotten away with so much malfeasance, misfeasance and nonfeasance in office without impeachment at the very least being discussed. But everyone in congress knows they dare not start anything or they will be ruined by the media. Even the public is shushed, they don´t want to be called racist either. I think that since the Democrats don´t have another black politician lined up and since ´misogynist´ doesn´t have the sting of ´racist´ this is going to change in 2016 and there will be a backlash.

For now we still have the Constitution. That is the only thing standing between us and tyranny.

All of these fascist socialists want a simple Democracy whereby the urban populations can rule the rest of the country. They rail against the Electoral College, the Bill of Rights and now even the makeup of the Senate.

These are dangerous times while we have a would-be dictator in the White House. Does anyone believe that Obama would be benevolent if he seized Venezuelan powers?

But I think someone should be worried about who in the administration sent the name of the head C.I.A. guy in Afghanistan to over 6000 people before they discovered their mistake.

Absolutely dead-on correct. You want to see the press come alive with bloody knives and magnifying glasses? Elect a republican president. The real question is, how can we counter this? Not just with principles. We have to own the media, the production companies as well as the blog sites. And we have to show results, big time.

Yes! Democrats have successfully welded the ultra wealthy with the inconsistent metal of the perpetual poverty class. The "inbetweeners" are really in a squeeze. Better join one or the other and for most people, the forced choice will not be a happy one.

Like my son says, "America? Oh, that concept died during the Jimmy Carter administration. There is no real America left...just the illusion of one."

He´s right.

While reading this article I got the feeling that VDH was talking about the robber barons of the late 19th century. The Carnegies, Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Astors, etc. all were those who took advantage of the working classes in order to make even more money that they used to squash any and all competition and influence the politics of the day. And that is somewhat what we are seeing in this day and age. In the past, the working class rose up and created unions that DID help them. In today´s world, however, the unions have become just as corrupt as the robber barons were. All they want today is to have cushy high paying positions (not jobs) and political influence. And it comes to mind that we cannot create unions to get us out of this morass so what do we do. The only solution that I can think of to put this country back on the track it was intended to be on and to prevent the same of happening again is to rise up and have another revolution. We are going to have to rid the country of the corruption that is politics and make the necessary changes that will prevent all of this happening all over again.

Dittos to the numerous posters above. VDH once again tells us what we need to hear.

Don´t forget that much of the GOP leadership also considers itself among the elite class. It´s a "bipartisan" thing.

What to do about it? Gaze across the "pond" and consider what happened this past Sunday. Our European cousins have followed up on what we started in 2010. They, too, are sick of the immigration time bomb, centralized control, and have been Taxed Enough Already. Now the ball is back in our court. The NOvember elections and 2016 lie ahead.

Let the Emperor´s drones do their thing. We must do our thing for the sake of our children and grandchildren.

Apoligies for the second post, but I must respond to #35 and others´ misinterpretation (spin) of VDH´s comment:

" Note here: when Obama leaves office, and should he be replaced by a Republican president, then we will see a press playing catch-up, intent on restoring its shattered image by exposing cabinet members who violate the Hatch Act and the insidious revolving door between Wall Street/ banking and White House billets."

We have elected Republican presidents in the past 50 years or so (Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and Bushes father and son), and it has only exacerbated the biased behavior of the press. It will not solve the problem. That´s my take on what VDH was getting at.

I hope VDH reads the comments. I see the only positive outcome in America if after next presidential elections (if there will be elections) the new prez, like President Me, demands from Federal Reserve the equal amount of money the fascists/commies got already and builds conservative (common sense) media - local newspapers, local TV stations, change educational goals, schools and universities, entertainment industry and, of course, replace dreadful bureaucracy (and gut it by 75%). Otherwise we will stay in deep do-do.

Excellent article - the vivid and unvarnished truth as only Mr. Victor Davis Hanson can calmly and patiently tell it.

Throughout the article, however, it is sadly apparent that Mr. Hanson’s heart is resigned and holds a realistic yet sorrowful awareness of our immediate future as a nation.

I know the Bay Area elite well and VDH has them nailed. A more entitled group of hypocrites does not exist anywhere else on the planet. It´s really all about them, about keeping their wealth and power. They are afraid of those in the middle class who are smarter and more creative than they are so they shut them out. You can´t get a job in certain fields in San Francisco without a Junior League and/or Ivy League pedigree.

However, their numbers are not high enough to maintain their stranglehold on us. They are at the tip of the pyramid and the seething hordes below can´t be bought off forever. I saw my white liberal elite boss freak out when she realized that she was going to have to fire a minority employee who was caught stealing. It would have taken her 2 seconds to fire a white employee for the same offense, but she struggled with firing this particular employee because she was afraid. Afraid she´d be seen as a racist, afraid that the employee might threaten her, and afraid that once again her utopian mindset had been proven false. Again and again and again I saw "people of color" mess with this woman because they saw her weakness. Who can blame them? Frankly, I would have done the same if I could, and I have to admit enjoying watching her squirm. It´s one thing to mouth off about diversity and white privilege, it´s another thing to be called on it.

The search is on for two presenters to join Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell on ABC’s daytime chat show, while a backstage battle for control has left Barbara Walters out of the driver’s seat. When ABC’s long-popular daytime program The View returns in September for its 18th season, creator Barbara Walters will no longer have an ownership stake, and longtime executive producer Bill Geddie won’t be at the helm. “He won’t be back,” a person familiar with the inner workings of the show told The Daily Beast, confirming one of the major changes--including the enforced departures of panelists Sherri Shepherd

Federal employees, like all Americans, are entitled to hold passionate political beliefs. Most executive branch federal employees, however, may not engage in certain political activities, thanks to an anti-conflict of interest principle enshrined in a federal law called the Hatch Act. To wit, President Bush requested the resignation of his GSA administrator in 2008 after the US Office of Special Counsel determined she had violated federal law by participating in a video conference with Karl Rove and sending out partisan letters. (The New York Times was scandalized at the time, though I strangely can´t find their editorial calling for Kathleen

Seventeen percent of people in the United States say immigration is the nation’s top problem, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday. That´s up from 5 percent in June, and is the highest number Gallup has registered for immigration since 2006, when 15 percent said it was the nation´s most pressing problem. Gallup’s new survey found immigration is virtually tied with “dissatisfaction with government” as the nation´s top problem. The economy and unemployment rank below immigration and “dissatisfaction with government" as top problems, the new poll found. Only 8 percent now rate healthcare as the top problem, down from 16 percent in January, when

The headlines last week were all about the potential windfall: A second appraisal of works in the Detroit Institute of Arts´ collection had come in and the number was several orders of magnitude larger than the first. The city needs a valuation because the museum´s collection is in play under the current municipal bankruptcy proceeding. Back in December, Christie´s had come in with $454 million to $867 million, that low-high figure the equivalent of an auction "estimate" ranging between a number below which a work won´t sell and another representing its likely maximum hammer price. How would you feel if someone promised to give you a car, and then reneged on that pledge? That’s how all Americans should feel when it comes to ObamaCare -- because Barack Obama’s failed and discredited campaign promise to lower health insurance premiums has cost the average American family an amount equal to the price of many new cars. During his 2008 campaign, one of then-Senator Obama’s most audacious promises was that his health plan would reduce premiums by $2,500 for the average family. His repeatedly made his pledge on videotape; you can view those promises here. But health insurance premiums

At the heart of Vargas’s viewpoint — and CNN’s decision to refer to him as a symbol, as opposed to, say, a scofflaw — is the notion that it is unfair to deny citizenship to him, considering his circumstances.
