The ´Twisted World´ of Elliot Rodger
American Thinker, by Jack Cashill

Original Article

Posted By:DW626, 5/26/2014 6:00:10 AM

Were I to update my 2007 book, What’s the Matter with California, I would dedicate a chapter to Elliot Rodger, the sexually jealous young man who stabbed, shot, and ran over a score of victims, seven of them fatally, in his hate-filled Santa Barbara rampage. Unlike many recent mass killers -- Adam Lanza (Sandy Hook), Jared Lee Loughner (Tucson), and James Holmes (Aurora) -- Rodger was sane enough to tell the world what ailed him, and this he did in a lucid, well written, 140-page memoir/ manifesto titled “My Twisted World.” better title might have been “Our Twisted World.”

FTA: "Valenti and others on the left fail to see, however, that this sickness set in when they and their ideological allies began to dismantle protective institutions of lasting value like family, community, nation, faith, and married love."

Bingo! That is the crux of the problem that is eating our society alive. The 60´s "if it feels good do it" mentality has been destroying this country one family at a time.

Once again, Cashill does the work that pseudo- journalists just won´t do. Instead of simply mentioning the 140-page manifesto, Cashill actually read it and found many insightful clues that point to the real origins of Rodger´s madness...lack of cultural roots, lack of parenting, lack of love, excess of feelings of smallness and worthlessness, excess of violent video games.

There it is. The liberal life style. Dragon seed.

Well, gee! It looks like I´m (society) to blame for another psycho killer. I´m so surprised to find all these short people, married and with children, that are so successful. I guess they must have been a lot taller when they were younger.

But anyway, I´ll try harder not to warp so many minds and produce all these homicidal poor little kids.

It goes to prove that money does not solve all problems. One cannot buy love. Divorce doesn´t either. It divides families like nothing else but death. The children are torn between two people who are often thinking only of themselves. The children end up not knowing where they belong in the big picture. They are shuffled around with suitcases from house to house, watching their parents go through the process of dating again feeling like third wheels. Parents then try to prove they love them by buying them things when all they really want is love and security. I am not trying to excuse what happened but in this case, the parents should feel guilty for not providing what he needed the most. Their love and attention even if it ended up with his being institutionalized.

Yes, there is a sickness afoot in the land, but feminists have no more hope of curing it with sexual harassment laws or enforced sensitivity training than Rodger did with his “day of retribution.”

Amen, Mr. Cashill. Not only do they, and others like them, have no hope of curing the "sickness afoot in the land", they do everything they can to prevent and destroy knowledge of what will cure it.

And the things Cashill describes happen only in California?

A follower of his for some time now, I am put off by this sloppy reasoning. It is simply factually untrue.

The Rodgers could have been in Florida, in New York, even in Texas .... People over-indulge their kids, get divorced, have girlfriends, remarry, the kids get hurt. That is not exclusively a California problem.

And disaffected mass killers can show up in Colorado and Connecticut, to name the most memorable.

"Roger": Rodger, Cashill, and #1. Elliot and the recent killers like him lash out at the misplaced values of modern culture. The connection to a Hollywood that exalts "bad boys" and "hunks" is most fitting here. The weapons of choice (guns in this case) have nothing whatsoever to do with it.

However, society will collectively cluck its tongue and move on. Waiting for the next outcry.

Impeachment: The Red Line

Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”

France: Mom Kills Kindergarten

PARIS - The mother of a pupil at a French pre-school stabbed a teacher to death in front of her class Friday, the last day of the school year, authorities said. The education minister said the mother apparently had "serious psychiatric problems," and pledged support for teachers in the face of angry or violent parents. Police said the mother was taken into custody. Deadly attacks in a school are extremely rare in France, and the stabbing in front of a class of 5- and 6-year-olds raised concern at the highest levels. French President Francois Hollande expressed outrage at the attack

Life in modern America does not get more cruelly perverse than this: one major reason Judge Debra Nelson threw out George Zimmerman’s libel suit against NBC on Monday was because of Zimmerman’s public pursuit of racial justice. Yes, that George Zimmerman, the same “child killer” who shot black teen Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, in February 2012. In the way of background, Zimmerman had sued NBC for manipulating the substance of his famous call to a police dispatcher to make him sound like a racist. In firing two employees and apologizing publicly, NBC all but admitted its guilt. What saved

As thousands of disease-riddled criminals storm across our borders, is it really time to mince words? President Obama appears to have an Agenda for America that stinks worse than a Border Patrol bus depot crammed with urine-drenched illegals. Is the man trying to protect and defend us, or does he want us to kick the bucket, run down the curtain, and join the choir invisible? On January 29, 2014, the Department of Homeland Security advertised for a vendor to escort 65,000 “unaccompanied alien children,” indicating that they not only knew the alien invasion was coming, they planned it.

Employment rates for college graduates are dismal. Aggregate student debt is staggering. But university administrative salaries are soaring. The campus climate of tolerance has utterly disappeared. Only the hard sciences and graduate schools have salvaged American universities’ international reputations. For over two centuries, our superb system of American public and private higher education kept pace with radically changing times and so ensured our prosperity and reinforced democratic pluralism. But a funny thing has happened on the way to the 21st century. Colleges that were once our most enlightened and tolerant institutions

And what a bang up job that woman has done. For years now, our very own First Lady has appeared on shows like Oprah and Nightline and broadcast her undying dedication to getting military families the multifaceted support they need – none of which she’s done, but that’s beside the point. One unavoidable truth that must be faced regarding the media and 2014 is this: the American media has the conservatives’ number. They know exactly where the blind spots are, which are the most sensitive points, and how to do the most damage. And they have absolutely no compunction about taking advantage of it. The relationship between conservatives and the media recalls the old skit by Monty Python concerning “the advantages of not being seen.” A plummy voice calls out, “Will Christine please stand up?” Christine rises from behind a bush, there’s an explosion, and down again she goes. “Will Todd stand

Among the unsung victims of the September 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi was the First Amendment. To protect its fragile narrative that an anti-Muslim video had agitated a Libyan crowd into attacking the consulate, the Obama White House and its allies set out to identify and punish the maker of that video, and this they did with a speed and severity that the attackers themselves were spared. Scarier still, to the degree the major media noticed, they cheered. In a phone conversation I had with video maker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula last week, he had one pressing question:
