One-third of Detroit
pregnancies are aborted: report

Washington Times, by Jessica Chasmar

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 5/25/2014 12:03:47 PM

Detroit women are turning to abortion at a staggering rate as poverty and crime grip the city, with more than one-third of pregnancies being terminated. According to 2012 figures, the most recent year for which data are available, 31 percent of pregnancies among Detroit residents ended in abortion — compared to about 14 percent for all of Michigan, The Detroit News reported. (Snip) Dr. Susan Schooley, chairwoman of the Department of Family Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital, said the statistics make Detroit look “more like some Third-World country than someplace in the United States.”

Comments:
Shame, shame, shame on Detroit.

Who wants to have "Detroit" on their birth certificate?

Then be forced to face the unspeakable horror of being raised in a burnt-out, utterly destroyed war zone? Staring into the abyss with no future and devoid of all hope?

Sometimes abortion can be an act of mercy.

I bet the numbers would be even more astounding and heartbreaking if they released the abortion rate by race. #1 is right, Margaret Sanger would be proud. I bet Ruth "there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of" Bader Ginsburg loves these abortion numbers.

#2, I respectfully disagree. If those children had a choice, they would choose life. To be killed by abortion is barbaric. All life is precious, even life in Detroit.

An as yet unsubstantiated report in several news outlets says that three young people, possibly Jews, abducted an Arab youth in Jerusalem, and that the burnt body of an Arab youth was later found in the Jeusalem Forest area. There is speculation that the two events are connected and that the youth was abducted and murdered. Washington - The Supreme Court has rejected a challenge to California’s law that bars mental counseling aimed at turning gay minors straight. The justices on Monday let stand an appeals court ruling that said the state’s ban on so-called conversion therapy for minors doesn’t violate the free speech rights of licensed counselors and patients seeking treatment. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last year that California lawmakers properly showed that efforts to change sexual orientation were outside the scientific mainstream and have been rejected for good reason. Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses
