´Hunger Games´ career high
for father of Calif. shooter

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Peter Rodger, who believes his son was the lone gunman in a Santa Barbara-area shooting rampage, has not been a major player in Hollywood, yet his work as an assistant director on the first installment of the wildly successful "Hunger Games" series in 2012 brought him a notable credit. Rodger´s job was as a second-unit director, one of five on the film responsible for production away from the principal set. (Snip)He is the son of the late George Rodger, a renowned British war photographer who went on to found the Magnum photo agency.

Comments:
The grandfather´s fame set the tone for the family, including a very impressionable child Elliot Rodger. The family was apparently obsessed with fame and money and living grandly. In recent years, Dad´s fortunes had not been good (probably since the high of The Hunger Games).

Odd how the word ´shooter´seems to pop up in all these articles. So far, I´ve read that he stabbed three to death, and hit a couple of people with his car. Yet, headlines don´t characterize him as a ´stabber´ or ´vehicularizer´. Wonder why?

The parents of this sick murderer should go into hiding, rather than to attempt to become national champions of the gun ban crowd.

This kid´s mental condition can be traced to his parents.

At least, his father can now claim some societal identity--sick as it is.

Maybe they should have paid more attention to their obviously sick child and less to acquiring fame and fortune. Screw them for trying to place the blame elsewhere!

Classic limo liberals!

Now their against guns; how about knives and cars.

If they would have spent more time as parents as opposed to buying the kid off with a BMW and Armani sun glass maybe this would not have happened.

The parents should go to trial!
They failed!

Why the Middle East´s borders

CNN, by Scott Anderson    Original Article

Many observers gazing upon the current bloodshed in the Middle East have wondered aloud if we are seeing the disintegration of the nation-state boundaries established in the region nearly a century ago. But the crises in Iraq and Syria have simply laid bare a phenomenon that has been under way for quite some time. What´s more, this process is now almost certainly irreversible, and will lead to a radically different Middle Eastern map than we have known. In the heady early days of the Arab Spring, many people imagined that the Arab world might finally be entering a period of greater democratization,

It is a near-perfect storm that has come together as Hillary Rodham Clinton tours the country promoting her new book and preparing for a possible presidential campaign in 2016. At a time when she is drawing attention to her record as secretary of state, the Middle East has become dangerously chaotic and President Obama’s approval ratings are sliding. That has left Clinton in a difficult position of trying to claim success when she was in office while shielding herself, carefully, from real or perceived weaknesses in the administration’s handling of crises in Syria, Iraq, Libya and other trouble spots. Clinton has two

The federal government refuses to let one of the most controversial Internet bills ever conceived die. CISPA, as it was known when it was introduced in 2011, made a temporary resurgence last year only to meet the same opposition that had blocked its passage two years before. But as Vice has discovered, the bill is back under consideration by the U.S. Senate under a slightly altered name. The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2014 “incentivizes the sharing of cybersecurity threat information between the private sector and the government and among private sector entities,” according to a press release published on

With the curtain soon to go up on select committee hearings on Benghazi, a key question remains unanswered: what on earth were we doing there? Washington -- I´ll let you know what´s going on, but I don´t need new congressional authority to act, President Barack Obama told congressional leaders Wednesday about his upcoming decision on possible military intervention in Iraq. The reality is within the Bergdahl deal, and the GITMO-5 to Qatar, there is a far more likely reason.Ahmed Abu Khattala is directly connected to the covert transfer of U.S. arms from Qatar to Libya in the initial 2011

Hillary Clinton — the woman assumed to be the next Democratic Party presidential nominee and quite possibly the next president — is evidently a big snooze. According to Mediate, her interviews to promote her book on CNN and Fox had underwhelming numbers. In the case of Greta Van Susteren’s show, she sent people fleeing midway. More importantly, her book itself is a sales disappointment and, I would wager, even more disappointing if you could ascertain how many who did buy it read actually past page 15.
