Music was among the least of Mr. B´s concerns. As a 59-year-old Dutch man living with extremely severe obsessive compulsive disorder for 46 years, he had other things on his mind. His OCD was so severe it led to moderate anxiety and mild depression. Not only was his condition extreme, but it was also resistant to traditional treatment. It got so bad that he opted to receive an implant to stimulate his brain constantly with electricity — a treatment, called deep brain stimulation (DBS), that has been shown to successfully treat OCD in the past. It worked, but had a very peculiar

#1 you caused me brain damage early in the morning.

"The Candy Man can ´cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good" is a line that has forever disturbed me and is now disturbing me even more this morning. How cruel!

Good article. Weird but funny - I have a nephew with OCD - fairly severe... He´s also fairly liberal.

Makes me wonder what would happen if HE got this treatment? Hmmm...

Tequixquiac, Mexico — Claudia Sanchez crouched on a grassy slope alongside the railroad tracks, breast-feeding her 10-month-old daughter, Heather. It had already been a long journey from Honduras to central Mexico, clinging with her baby to the top of a rickety train. They still had a thousand or so miles to go to reach the U.S. border. (Snip) Asked why they would take such risks, the answers from Sanchez and others are nearly uniform: gang violence at home, poverty, no jobs. University of California President Janet Napolitano said Friday that a new panel of 75 to 100 people will oversee UC´s efforts to deal with sexual violence at its 10 campuses. The announcement comes just days before the state auditor is expected to issue a report on how UC´s flagship campuses - UC Berkeley and UCLA - handle sexual assault complaints. State lawmakers had authorized the audit during an emotional hearing in Sacramento in August after nine UC Berkeley students and alumnae accused campus officials of treating their assault allegations far too lightly. For more than a decade, the CIA has deployed drones, satellites, spies, informants and tracking devices to thwart al-Qaeda in Pakistan. The spy agency also considered a plan to wage war with toys. Beginning in about 2005, the CIA began secretly developing a custom-made Osama bin Laden action figure, according to people familiar with the project. The face of the figure was painted with a heat-dissolving material, designed to peel off and reveal a red-faced bin Laden who looked like a demon, with piercing green eyes and black facial markings. Detroit — The top legislative body of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) voted by large margins Thursday to recognize same-sex marriage as Christian in the church constitution, adding language that marriage can be the union of "two people," not just "a man and a woman." The amendment approved by the Presbyterian General Assembly requires approval from a majority of the 172 regional presbyteries, which will vote on the change over the next year. But in a separate policy change that takes effect at the end of this week´s meeting, delegates voted to allow ministers to preside at gay weddings in states

Cory Roberts, now 37, was first convicted in 1990 after he raped and battered a toddler, leaving her paralyzed and brain damaged. He was freed once in 2001, only to be convicted of a similar crime weeks later. But now, King County said he´s no longer a threat. Roberts was released on Monday, Seattle´s KING 5 reported. I have been listening all week to TV pundits lamenting that Lois Lerner’s hard drive has been destroyed, and therefore her e-mails are lost. This is simply not the case. I never cease to be amazed at the lack of understanding of how the e-mail system works. When you write an e-mail, it goes to your server to be sent to the person you e-mailed. Your server keeps a copy of that e-mail, and of all your e-mails – sent and received. When you create all the folders in your e-mail program that you use to save e-mails in...these are also

The Obama administration’s claim to have been surprised by the wave of children flooding over out borders may turn out to be another political lie of the year. Sundance of Conservative Treehouse noticed a very peculiar advertisement: On January 29th of this year, the federal government posted an advertisement seeking bids for a vendor contract to handle “Unaccompanied Alien Children“. Not just any contract mind you, but a very specific contract – for a very specific number of unaccompanied minors: 65,000. • Why would DHS and ICE be claiming “surprise” by the current influx of unaccompanied minors on the border
