Kashkari winning race for
money, but still lags in polls

Los Angeles Times, by Michael Finnegan

Original Article

Posted By:SoCalGal, 5/24/2014 7:28:59 PM

If there´s one thing Republican Neel Kashkari needed this week to stay in the running for governor of California, it was money. And he got it. Big donors have started spending more than $650,000 promoting the Laguna Beach newcomer to California politics. Combined with the $4 million that Kashkari is spending, he´s on track to benefit from nearly 10 times as much money as his top Republican rival, Assemblyman Tim Donnelly of Twin Peaks. Still, one critical question haunts Kashkari´s candidacy with the June 3 primary 10 days away: Is it too late? By Friday, more than 1 million Californians had already cast early

Comments:
I do not like Kashkari. He is the "establishment" candidate, but he voted for Obama in 2008. I think he´s a weasel, a guy we need no more of in our government. And now he has gone seriously negative on Donnelly, who is still leading in the polls.

Here is a great article that could not be posted - staledated but highly relevant:

I don´t know where Kashkari´s money has gone. He has run one ad - a dopey one of him wielding an ax on a log, apparently to emphasize the cuts he´ll make.

My capital C Conservative cousin in Kaufman, TX, said she hoped I was voting for Donnelly. They know about this race all the way back there!

Donnelly has been running far behind in money, but leading in the polls. Now Kashkari has gone dirty with business about Donnelly´s carrying a gun onto an airplane, something that was explained as an error (he grabbed the wrong prepacked bag) some time ago. But that won´t matter to dirty Kashkari.

Here is something from the Townhall article linked in OP´s Comments (worth a read):

“Conservative” Neel Kashkari also voted for Barack Obama in 2008.

At a recent debate hosted by radio station KFI, Neel was asked why he did such a thing. His answer proved that he might need to spend less money on ax-wielding commercials and more on debate coaches:

“Barack Obama is a partisan warrior…” Kashkari said--and the crowd went wild.Whatever he said after is irrelevant; why anyone claiming to be a Republican would vote for the most opposite-of-everything-Republican in the history of America is dumbfounding.

Kashkari is also pro-abortion, pro-same sex marriage and pro-amnesty. And he´s a former Goldman Sachs executive who ended up working with Paulson on TARP.

I don´t like him either. Or had you noticed?

The fact that even such usually reliable establishment Republicans as Cong. Issa and Hugh Hewitt are backing Kashkari is depressing. Do the establishment types think the best thing to do is to kick 60% of the Republicans out of the Party?

Issa is in the Boehner, McConnell, Cantor camp and as such is a typical weak ineffective RINO.

I listen to Hewitt´s and Michael Medved´s radio shows sometime and both of them are flaming RINOs IMO.

MARIETTA, Georgia — A Georgia man who police say intentionally killed his toddler son by leaving the boy inside a hot SUV was exchanging nude photos with women the day his son died and had looked at websites that advocated against having children, a detective testified Thursday. Cobb County Police Detective Phil Stoddard testified at a hearing that evidence showed Justin Ross Harris was practically leading a double life and should not be granted bond. Stoddard described the evidence police have suggesting Harris, who is charged with murder, killed his 22-month-old son Cooper intentionally. Harris and his wife had two

When Washington imposed sanctions in June 2012 on Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, he dismissed it as an empty gesture. Two years later, Shekau’s skepticism appears well founded: his Islamic militant group is now the biggest security threat to Africa´s top oil producer, is richer than ever, more violent and its abductions of women and children continue with impunity. As the United States, Nigeria and others struggle to track and choke off its funding, Reuters interviews with more than a dozen current and former U.S. officials who closely follow Boko Haram provide the most complete picture to date of how the group

BEIJING-Nearly 800,000 people voted in a nonbinding Hong Kong referendum aimed at agitating for greater democracy, organizers said early Monday, and the semi-autonomous Chinese city was bracing for hundreds of thousands of people to march through the streets Tuesday to continue pressing their cause. The 10-day vote in the former British territory -- conducted online, via mobile phones and in person -- asked residents to cast ballots for one of three mechanisms for directly electing the city’s chief executive. About 787,000 people -- more than 10% of the city’s population -- participated, organizers said. Mainland authorities have denounced the balloting as

One of the last Christian strongholds in Iraq came under attack this week, and its last remaining citizens are making a desperate plea to the United States for help. Until this week, Qaraqosh was a town where Christians from other parts of Iraq could find refuge. But late Wednesday night, ISIS rebels started shelling Qaraqosh, provoking a mass exodus on Thursday. According to various reports, anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 citizens have fled. The Syrian Catholic Archbishop of Mosul, Yohanna Petros Mouche, has remained behind with around 1,000 of the town’s inhabitants who do not have cars or other means

The legal case against the accused leader of the 2012 attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, began with him being spirited into Washington in darkness for a hearing hastily arranged on a Saturday afternoon. Ahmed Abu Khatallah was flown by helicopter just before dawn from a Navy ship, according to a law enforcement official who requested anonymity to discuss the details. Amid heavy security, he was taken to a federal courthouse blocks from the U.S. Capitol, the official said. As armed U.S. marshals patrolled outside, the unshackled Khatallah stood impassively as his court-appointed lawyer, Michelle Peterson, entered a not-guilty plea. He

US Secretary of State John Kerry warned against the threat and said other nations should stay out. Meanwhile, a new insurgent artillery offensive against Christian villages in the north of Iraq sent thousands of Christians fleeing from their homes, seeking sanctuary in Kurdish-controlled territory, Associated Press reporters who witnessed the scene said. For many people, that has turned out to be true, according to new data released by the Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday. The report found people receiving subsidized health insurance plans are paying $82 a month, on average, for their premiums.(Snip)While Obamacare is clearly helping some people lower their premiums, what´s less clear from the report is the cost of these subsidies to the federal government. Iran’s supreme leader yesterday accused the US of trying to retake control of Iraq by exploiting sectarian rivalries, as Sunni insurgents drove toward Baghdad from new strongholds along the Syrian border. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s condemnation of US action came three days after President Barack Obama offered to send 300 military advisers to help the Iraqi government. Mr Khamenei may want to block any US choice of a new prime minister after grumbling in Washington about Shia premier Nuri al-Maliki. Sadr City -The parade stretched for several miles through the streets of Baghdad, bristling with bazookas, hi-tech assault rifles and artillery guns. As tens of thousands of uniformed men marched past, loudspeakers proclaimed how they would defend Iraq from the Sunni jihadists rampaging through the country’s north. This pageant of armed might, however, was not an official Iraqi army display to re-assure an anxious public. Instead, it was a show of force by the Mahdi Army, the vast Shia militia that is effectively a parallel military force in Iraq.

Maybe we’ve been conned. There’s a growing recognition that Barack Obama is an incompetent poser, working out of his depth, and his administration is the gang that can’t shoot straight. There’s a lot of evidence to support that belief. Everything he touches becomes a bloody mess, like crushed bones and bits of flesh caught in the tracks of a tank slicing through a rank of soldiers (or civilians). Iraq, Syria, Egypt — all gone, as prospects for countries with a prosperous and democratic future. The “reset” with Russia, meant to ensure that America and the replacement republic of the old

President Obama has, except on fleeting occasions, routinely disdained the customary Oval Office language of compromise and coalition-building for the low arts of sophistry and belittlement. That was to be expected, given his background as a Chicago community organizer and product of that city´s corrupt Democrat political machine. But Obama has far exceeded dismal expectations. No previous American president employed the systematic distortion of fact and mendacious characterization of opponents that have typified Obama´s presidency. His "so sue me" speech last week is a classic illustration of the community organizer practicing Saul Alinsky´s 13th rule: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize
