Police said they are analyzing a video that might be connected to the shooting deaths of six people in Isla Vista near UC Santa Barbara on Friday night. A series of drive-by shootings left seven people dead, including a man believed to have carried out the attacks, and seven injured. Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown said the video titled "Elliott Rodger´s retribution" "appears to be connected at this time." The video appears to have been done by a young man who identified himself on his blog as a student in Santa Barbara. “I’ll take great pleasure in slaughtering all of you. Creepy, incoherent and just plain sad. Cottage Hospital was the prime trauma center made that way in the days when President Reagan would vacation on his ranch in the hills. A priest once saw me in their hallways, filled with these hottie female staff. He asked how I could work successfully around them. I told him that it was simple: "They ignore me." This sick guy found out that having life´s toys and money can´t buy you love, so he lashed out. He's a loser and the girls smelled it, so he turned to random mass murder.

Aden - Dozens of suspected Qaeda militants launched a night-time assault on one of southeastern Yemen´s main cities sparking fierce fighting that killed at least 15 people, security sources said on Saturday. They attacked army bases and public buildings in Seiyun, second city of Hadramawt province, with car bombs, rocket-launchers and heavy machineguns, the sources said. The regional military headquarters, the special forces base and the main police station were all targeted, along with local government offices and banks. The assault in Hadramawt, a jihadist stronghold that has seen large-scale attacks on the army in the past,

Washington - For six years, international nuclear inspectors have been demanding that Iran turn over evidence of experiments that they suspect could have been part of a secret effort to solve the complex science of detonating a nuclear weapon. On Friday, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the monitoring arm of the United Nations, said that it was finally beginning to see the information it had long sought — but that Iran insisted that the detonators were for non-nuclear purposes. The disclosure was buried in a report by the atomic agency that detailed major progress Iran had made in diluting most of its stockpile

The first police officer at the scene of Tupac Shakur´s 1996 drive-by murder has revealed the last words spoken by the late rap legend. And they´re not exactly peaceful. "He looked at me, and he took a breath to get the words out, and he opened his mouth," says Chris Carroll, a retired sergeant with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, in a new feature with Vegas Seven. "And then the words came out: ´F**k you.´" Shakur was shot multiple times on September 7th, 1996. Tehran, Iran - Iranian state television says a billionaire businessman at the heart of a $2.6 billion state bank scam, the largest fraud case since the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, has been executed. The TV report Saturday said authorities put Mahafarid Amir Khosravi, also known as Amir Mansour Aria, to death at Evin prison, just north of the capital, Tehran. The report said the execution came after Iran’s Supreme Court upheld his death sentence. Three others also face death sentences in the case, which involved using forged documents to get credit at one of Iran’s top banks to purchase assets including major state-owned companies.

Detroit - General Motors is recalling about 500 pickup trucks and SUVs to fix faulty air bag controls, its 30th recall so far this year. The company is in the midst of a company-wide safety review after it mishandled the recall of more than 2.6 million older small cars with faulty ignition switches. GM has acknowledged knowing about the switch problem for more than a decade before it began recalling the cars in February. (Snip) GM last week agreed to pay a $35 million federal fine for safety issues stemming from the delayed recalls. It is the largest civil penalty ever paid as a result of a government investigation of violations stemming from recalls.

Honolulu - A federal jury on Friday decided a former Hawaii soldier convicted of murder is eligible for the death penalty in the first capital case in the history of Hawaii´s statehood. Jurors will next deliberate on whether Naeem Williams should be sentenced to death or life in prison with no possibility of release for killing his 5-year-old daughter. Dallas - Robert Gates, the new president of the Boy Scouts of America, said Friday that he would have moved last year to allow openly gay adults in the organization but said he opposes any further attempts to address the policy now. Gates took over an organization this week that serves about 2.5 million youth but faces continued membership declines and fights over its inclusion of openly gay boys, but not adults. Gates, the former secretary of defense who oversaw the end of the military´s "Don´t Ask, Don´t Tell" policy, addressed those issues Friday, a day after Scouting's national leadership elected him president.

Ford announced late last month that he was seeking treatment for an alcohol problem after a new video surfaced that appeared to show Ford smoking a crack pipe late last month. An odd incident to report from the White House. A man approached officers at the northwest gate of the White House this afternoon and proceeded to take off all of his clothes. When the officers tried to subdue him, the disrobed man became combative and tried to assault them, according to a Secret Service spokesman. The man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of indecent exposure, authorities said, noting that during the arrest, the man sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. This is just the latest in a string of strange spectacles at the White House in recent weeks.

President Obama is taking a swipe at the Founding Fathers, blaming his inability to move his agenda on the “disadvantage” of having each state represented equally in the Senate. At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population. “Obviously, the nature of the Senate means that California has the same number of Senate seats as Wyoming.

U.S. Rep. Two frightening incidents of vandalism in El Paso near the Mexican border in Texas have been interpreted as warnings from drug cartels. In both instances, a mannequin wearing a suit and tie was tied to a billboard with a noose and messages were scrawled over the placards. Why do some political scandals stick while others fade? The level of media obsession seems to rise and fall as mysteriously as the stock market. On Benghazi, sell. Hold on the IRS audits. On the Department of Veterans Affairs scandal, buy, buy, buy. In the broader scandal market, fraud or criminality helps. Political intrigue is a plus. Sexual content increases attention but may eventually seem pathetically human and excusable. Conservatives are convinced that the liberal media are harder on Republicans. There is a natural human tendency to attribute good motives to people with whom you agree — and corrupt motives

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., repeatedly put the blame for the Veterans Affairs scandal on former President George W. Bush, while arguing that her party has worked hard for veterans in recent years. Pelosi took a shot at Bush while saying that the scandal is a high priority for Obama. "He sees the ramifications of some seeds that were sown a long time ago, when you have two wars over a long period of time and many, many more, millions more veterans," she told reporters during her Thursday press briefing.
