Sergio Marchionne: Please don´t
buy Fiat Chrysler´s electric car

USA Today, by Chris Woodyard

Original Article

Posted By:Ribicon, 5/23/2014 9:10:45 PM

The CEO of the newly combined Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is urging people not to buy his company’s electric car. It’s a strange request from a world in which automotive CEOs are usually doing everything they can to hype their product lines, lure customers to showrooms and as they say in the trade, “put butts in seats.” (Snip) “I hope you don’t buy it because every time I sell one it costs me $14,000,” he is quoted as having said. The 500e was created to meet mandates of states such as California that require automakers to offer zero-emissions cars for sale.

Comments:
Ah, the wonders of witnessing a command economy up close.

Don´t worry Serge. I´m not about to!
Nor will I need to tell Tony to fix it again... and again... and again.

I have no sympathy for you, Sergio. You decided to make the these lemons. You should have been telling the scientifically illiterate liberal politicians to butt out of something they don´t understand.

From the USA Today article: "the $32,650 Fiat 500e, a beautifully done, PRACTICAL electric car." [Emphasis added,]

That goes a whole 87 miles on a charge. And the charge time is...? I´ve heard they´re going for a coast-to-coast speed record of less than 3 years.

Understand, the only reason the man is making electric cars to begin with is because the blazing fools running state and local governments won´t allow him to sell cars otherwise. This is why Tesla is "succeeding"; other companies buy Green credits to offset their mandated contribution to The Greater Good. This is the USA, 2014; stranger than fiction.

So quit making them. Companies need to quit kowtowing to California. Don´t make anything for them. Don´t give them their special blend of gasoline. Let´s see how long before they start crying the blue.

Abortion is increasingly being used simply as a form of “contraception”, MPs claimed as official figures showed a surge in the number of women having nine or more terminations. Almost seven in 10 women who had a pregnancy terminated last year were married or in a stable long-term relationship, the new figures from the Department of Health show. Overall there were 190,800 abortions in England and Wales last year taking the total for the last decade to just under two million. Across mainland Britain as a whole there were 202,577 in 2013. The Coalition split over tackling knife crime will be laid bare next week when Conservative and Liberal Democrat ministers clash over moves to toughen penalties for carrying blades. Their differences will come to a head when the Commons votes on a Tory MP’s call for anyone caught twice with a knife to face an automatic jail sentence. Conservative ministers support the principle of the move, but it is opposed by the Liberal Democrats. After they failed to reach an agreed position, Tory ministers have been instructed to abstain, while the vast majority of Conservative backbenchers including parliamentary private secretaries are

Teen violence: Racial

Cincinnati — Teen mobs at city events is not a Cincinnati thing, and it´s been going on for years. Evidence of teen violence goes back to the Wisconsin State Fair in 2011, Philly, Chicago and spring 2014 in Louisville. They all have in common the attacks are by black, teenaged boys and girls. And most of the victims are white. The race factor is not something officials like to talk about. One UC criminology professor says that silence could be deadly. To some who called 911, the race factor was obvious. 11 victims filed reports saying they were kicked, punched

Top Senate Democrats and Republicans on Tuesday said they were considering offering American companies a one-time tax break if they repatriate profits stashed abroad. The senators anticipate the proposal would generate a windfall in revenue that would be used to fund federal transportation projects. U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters in the Capitol that Republicans had discussed a corporate tax repatriation "holiday" idea and "it enjoys a good deal of support in our conference." New York — Spending on corporate subsidies by the state of New Jersey has risen more than sevenfold under Republican governor Chris Christie, according to a study published on Wednesday, which concluded that the awards had done little to boost the state’s flagging economy. New Jersey has awarded tax breaks or credits at a rate of $75.9m per month since Christie came to office in 2010, compared to $10.1m per month during the previous decade, according to a report by New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP), a liberal-leaning thinktank. Or was this just one of those highly, highly unusual computer crashes that affects only the email account of Lois Lerner and any executive branch official with whom she happened to

One of George W. Bush´s most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship. If this wasn´t so tragic it would be supremely ironic, because before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, top Bush officials were insisting that there was an al Qaeda-Iraq axis of evil.
