Judge allows long-time Dem
Rep. Conyers on primary ballot

Fox News & Associated Press, by Mike Emanuel

A federal judge put Michigan Rep. John Conyers, one of the longest-serving Democrats in Congress, on the primary ballot Friday hours after state election officials declared him ineligible. Earlier Friday, Conyers lost his appeal to get on the August primary ballot after state officials found problems with his nominating petitions. Hours later, Detroit federal Judge Matthew Leitman issued an injunction ordering that Conyers´ name be placed on the ballot. The first decision, from the Secretary of State´s office, determined that Detroit-area officials were correct in keeping Conyers off the ballot, since he "failed to

Sounds like there was really no reason for the decision other than the sheer exercise of power. In Conyers´ half century representing Detroit, I wonder how many potential rivals failed to get enough valid signatures to be placed on the ballot?

And yes, of course this was always going to happen. Rules are for little people . . . and Republicans.

I am not a racist here since I am a member of the minority, but it makes one wonder when you have the combination of a black, liberal congressman who lost his place in the ballot due to fake signatures, who took his case to Obama liberal appointee judge and the expected results. On the other hand, had it been a conservative congressman in the same circumstances, he would be blowing smoke in the wind.

Judge Leitman is brand new:

On July 25, 2013, President Obama nominated Leitman to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, to the seat vacated by Judge Marianne O. Battani, who took senior status on June 10, 2012.[2] On January 16, 2014 his nomination was reported out of committee.[3]

A cloture vote was held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 on the Leitman nomination; cloture was invoked by a vote of 55-43. On Wednesday, March 12, 2014 the U.S. Senate voted 98-0 for final confirmation.[4] He received his judicial commission on March 14, 2014.[5]

What is a Federalé Judge doing interfering with a states rights matter? The state election officials were following the State Constitution, and the Michigan Secretary of State found that the Detroit area officials were correct in keeping Conyers off the ballot. This has nothing to do with the Federalé Government. If anything a State Appeals court or the Michigan Supreme Court should get involved here. They should tell Leitman to butt out and disregard the illegitimate inteference.

George Herman “Babe” Ruth played his first Major League Baseball game 100 years ago Friday, marking the beginning of a legendary career and legacy that lasted decades. One hundred years after Ruth took to the Fenway Park mound and tossed seven innings against the Cleveland Naps, he is still known to any Pee Wee league player trying to break in a glove today as simply, "The Babe." Ruth, who was 19 and, according to one teammate, looked like a "big overgrown pea" at the start of the game, went on to play for 22 years, 15 of those with the

Of the many stunning revelations to emerge out of the wreckage of Mosul on Wednesday — 500,000 fleeing residents, thousands of freed prisoners, unconfirmed reports of “mass beheadings” — the one that may have the most lasting impact as Iraq descends into a possible civil war is that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria just got extremely rich. This is quite a criticism given that many DOJ veterans believe that the Department reached its nadir under Mitchell. But Mitchell seems like an amateur by comparison to how Holder has corrupted the law enforcement duties of the Justice Department to carry out the political objectives of Barack Obama and to implement his radical ideology.
