The Tea Party: Tamed, Torpedoed, or Top Dog?
American Spectator, by Ross Kaminsky

Original Article

Posted By:mikkins2, 5/23/2014 4:48:17 PM

According to media reports from liberal and conservative outlets alike, the Tea Party is somewhere between “tamed” and dead — the mainstream right helpfully suggesting the former while the left (which is to say most of the media) gleefully proclaim the latter. At the same time, the liberal message machine has issued new — and completely contradictory — talking points urging desperate Democrats to pronounce authoritatively that the Tea Party has “taken over” the GOP. They’re all a little bit right, a little bit wrong, and completely missing the point. With a few important exceptions, notably Ben Sasse’s victory in the Republican

Comments:
I agree that the Tea Party Movement could be considered the vaccine to the RINO-virus. But I also think the movement is much more then that and is stronger than the punditry think. One thing being overlooked is that many of the Tea Party Movement are no longer registered as Republicans and thus not able to vote in Republican primaries.

The movement grows and is the remedy for Washington D.C.´s ills.

Not participating in the GOP primaries makes no sense unless you expect some miracle to a) get a third party on the general election ballot, b) get more than a few percent of the vote (enough to allow the Democrat to win).

The GOP Primaries is where the Tea Party should be playing.

I think the vaccine analogy is a good one. It´s pretty much the same movement as the ´93-94 libertarian movement with one major difference. The emergence of the internet and social media. The Tea Party will stick around longer. It´s influence will extend beyond normal bounds and force 2016 GOP Presidential candidates to adopt platforms of limited government, repeal of the Obama agenda and a dismantling of the crony capitalist state in DC.

Those who joined the Tea Party groups in 2009/2010 did not expect to be creating a "RINO-virus".

The movement has stalled/hit a plateau because it must now coalesce into a formal political party like the British UKIP.

Like a startup business: it must evolve, or die.

It would be a lot easier for conservatives to tolerate the sanctimony of Republicans In Name Only (RINOs) if they weren’t so hypocritical — or in the case of Mississippi RINOs — despicably hypocritical. ‘Moderate’ Republicans never tire of telling us conservative extremists how they are inclusive and ready to reach across the aisle to get things done. While we are exclusive and alienate and people that disagree with us. Well the Sen. Thad Cochran campaign got things done in Mississippi all right and in the process of building their ‘big tent’ party the RINOs turned race–baiting 180 degrees. Formerly in Mississippi and

In fact, I´m sure you´ve probably heard some version of it a hundred times since it seems to be the standard rap for liberals these days. "Those conservatives are racists! They hate Hispanics! They´re homophobes! They´re Nazis! They´re engaged in a war on women!" You get the idea. Well, first off, do you really think you can trust liberals to tell you what motivates conservatives? GOP Rep: Border Crisis Not About
Amnesty Legislation
Bretbart´s Big Government, by Tony Lee    Original Article

Even though numerous illegal immigrants flooding across the border have said they made the journey because they believed President Barack Obama would not deport them, the Chairwoman of the House GOP working group on the border crisis said the crisis has nothing to do with immigration reform. Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), whom House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) appointed to the group, said, "please don’t call this an immigration reform issue, this is a humanitarian crisis, and we need help now."

Earlier this year, the conventional wisdom was that the moderate establishment had taken control of the GOP back from the Tea Party and other "extremists." With Dave Brat defeating House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Chris McDaniel receiving the plurality of the votes in the primary for Senate in Mississippi earlier this month it appeared to be reversed. Now, with Cochran’s defeat of McDaniel in the runoff and my loss to Bob Beauprez in the Colorado gubernatorial primary, many are calling the deaths again. The Cook Political Report argued, “Reports of [the Tea Party’s] death were premature and reports of their

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has asked a pro-Thad Cochran Super PAC, called Mississippi Conservatives, to provide additional information about what the newspaper Roll Call said “appears to be campaign finance violations.” At issue are last-minute expenditures made by the PAC in the days before the initial June 3 primary. The FEC “Request for Additional Information” says the PAC does not appear to have disclosed some of its spending in a timely manner. The FEC notes in the letter sent to treasurer Brian Perry that failure to “adequately respond” by Aug. 1 “could result in an audit or enforcement action.”

Reverend Steve Fielder, a pastor at the First Union Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi, is accusing Senator Thad Cochran´s campaign of violating election laws by giving black Democratic voters cash in exchange for votes in the recent GOP runoff. But mainstream media seem uninterested in the story. The only outlet outside of conservative media covering the story is Forbes magazine. On July 1, the magazine explained what the penalties might be if Fielder´s allegations prove true. Conservative election integrity organization True The Vote filed suit in federal court Tuesday against Mississippi’s Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and the Mississippi Republican Party, asking a judge for an immediate injunction against them so that the election material from the state’s June 24 GOP primary runoff can be inspected. The lawsuit comes as allegations that Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-MS) campaign and his allies engaged in voter fraud to win last Tuesday’s runoff against conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel. Cochran bested McDaniel by fewer than 7,000 votes but did so with an overwhelming turnout from liberal Democrats in the black

The change was not publicly announced but was described in an instruction book available to lawmakers on how to fill out the forms. Maybe we’ve been conned. There’s a growing recognition that Barack Obama is an incompetent poser, working out of his depth, and his administration is the gang that can’t shoot straight. There’s a lot of evidence to support that belief. Everything he touches becomes a bloody mess, like crushed bones and bits of flesh caught in the tracks of a tank slicing through a rank of soldiers (or civilians). Iraq, Syria, Egypt — all gone, as prospects for countries with a prosperous and democratic future. The “reset” with Russia, meant to ensure that America and the replacement republic of the old

President Obama has, except on fleeting occasions, routinely disdained the customary Oval Office language of compromise and coalition-building for the low arts of sophistry and belittlement. That was to be expected, given his background as a Chicago community organizer and product of that city´s corrupt Democrat political machine. But Obama has far exceeded dismal expectations. No previous American president employed the systematic distortion of fact and mendacious characterization of opponents that have typified Obama´s presidency. His "so sue me" speech last week is a classic illustration of the community organizer practicing Saul Alinsky´s 13th rule: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize

June’s job numbers marked the fifth straight month of job gains over 200,000, the best stretch since the 1990s tech boom. A Bloomberg survey of economists expected an increase of 215,000 jobs in June. The unemployment rate dropped .2 percent to 6.1, the lowest since September 2008. May’s job report was also revised upward, showing 224,000 jobs added. The numbers follow strong reports for the Bay State last month, with

The headline of today’s jobs report, that 288,000 jobs were created in the last month, is positive. At least, it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. However, as with most economic reports these days, there is a veneer of good news — but when you look closer, the White House is using the positive headlines to hide the growing deterioration of the American workforce. I’m sure by now people are tired of reading about the bad news, and I’ll admit I am weary of having to blow the whistle and expose the truth every

Three Homeland Security buses arrived a few minutes later, trailed by numerous law enforcement vehicles. There is no information as to the buses´ destination. Earlier this week, federal officials said that 140 immigrants who had been detained crossing the border in Texas would arrive Friday. But since the blockade by protesters Tuesday at Murrieta, officials have declined to provide information about the movement of the immigrants.
