Did the Left’s New Communist
Economics Hero Fake His Data?

PJ Media, by Bryan Preston

Original Article

Oops. Also, Communists lie. Thomas Piketty’s book, ‘Capital in the Twenty-First Century’, has been the publishing sensation of the year. Its thesis of rising inequality tapped into the zeitgeist and electrified the post-financial crisis public policy debate. High quality global journalism requires investment. Comments:
How shocking coming from a leftist. s/o I´m sure the NYT and the rest of them who were swooning over this will note these errors. I did not post from the Financial Times. They frown on cutting and pasting.

Well as Dennis Prager reminded us this morning on his radio show---back in the Soviet Union the glorious future was constant, it was only the past that changed.

So a little historical revisionism here, a few bogus numbers there, none of that really matters as long as the glorious Communist future remains unaltered just in front of us.

Don´t mind the lies and half-truths in the data. The science is settled: capitalism kills. Anyone who doesn´t believe that is a denier. Off with their heads!

The Iraqi government may be finally enjoying some military successes in their struggle to roll back the advancing Sunni Islamic militant group ISIS. On Thursday night, according to Baghdad, the Iraqi army recaptured the city of Awja, Saddam Hussein’s birthplace. “Backed by helicopter gunships and helped by Shi’ite Muslim volunteers, the army recaptured the village of Awja in an hour-long battle on Thursday night, according to state media, police and local inhabitants,” Reuters reported. A spokesman for Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s government reported that 30 ISIS militants had been killed in the operation and Awja had been “totally cleansed.”

Obama’s Scandal Playbook

Editor´s note: This column originally appeared in the July issue of Townhall Magazine. Despite President Obama’s promise of an “unprecedented level of openness in government,” the American people have unfortunately become accustomed to a new normal over the past six years: incompetence, scandal, and misconduct. When news breaks about freshly exposed corruption, the reaction of far too many is, “Unbelievable, but I’m not surprised.” Since Obama took office in 2009, we’ve witnessed Operation Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Department of Justice spying on reporters and their families, IRS targeting of conservatives, the HealthCare.gov debacle, the GSA conference scandal, Solyndra, veterans dying as a

As the rest of America rings in Independence Day, the Obama family have yet another reason to celebrate: Malia Obama´s sweet 16th birthday. The First Daughter, who has recently been in California doing a TV production internship, was just ten years old when her father was first elected President of the United States. And over the past six years, the country has witnessed her grow up into a tall, stylish and mature teen, giving her parents plenty of reasons to be proud. The Obamas will be ringing in the holiday tonight with a Pitbull concert on the South Lawn of the White

The scientist whose findings environmentalists used to shame us into bringing our own reusable bags to the grocery store now says that his estimate of one million tons of plastic floating in the ocean may have been off by a factor of perhaps 143. His latest estimate ranges from 7,000 to 35,000 tons, and even most of that has biodegraded into granules. Cózar’s team didn’t find country-size islands of plastic bags strangling baby birds and sea turtles. It found “micro plastics.” What people think of as a dump doesn’t look like floating junk. Instead, ocean current “convergence zones” are swirling

Border Patrol Agent, Hector Garza, told CNN that the federal government, the Obama administration, is “aiding, abetting and facilitating the smuggling of illegal aliens across the border.” Basically, what we’re seeing, plain and simple, is the rampant abuse of our immigration system. We have a situation right now where the federal government is aiding, abetting and facilitating the smuggling of these individuals, these illegal aliens. These illegal aliens cross the border illegally, these aliens who pretty much surrender themselves because they know they are getting a free pass. This is an organized, it is an orchestrated situation. It’s organized by

Marine Sgt. John Peck is one of very few quadruple amputees to survive the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now he is preparing for his next mission: an experimental double-arm transplant that will give him, in part, his freedom back. "No more prosthetics," Peck told Fox News. "I´m going to get cadaver arms from a donor, and they´re going to do a 16-hour surgery with 12-16 doctors and reattach bone, using titanium plates, reattaching nerves, blood vessels, tendons, and muscles." He is not the first quadruple amputee to undergo such a surgery, which remains experimental. Brendan Marrocco, a soldier injured

Independence Day is a good time to revisit the foundations of our political order, especially given the long record of Barack Obama and the Democrats’ disregard for the Constitution. The members of the Continental Congress who met in Philadelphia in July 1776 sought their independence from England in order to recover their rights that had been violated by a tyrant, and to establish political freedom and autonomy so that those rights could be protected from further erosion. For a century now the Progressive ideology has insidiously undermined that legacy of autonomy in a slow-motion revolution that aims to “fundamentally transform

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says the U.S. has only succeeded because generations of Americans have fought to expand rights and opportunity to more people. Obama is reflecting on the meaning of the Fourth of July in his weekly radio and Internet address. He says there´s no nation on earth that wouldn´t trade places with the United States. Obama says the Founding Fathers were united by a belief that all are created equal and have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He says America´s success has been made possible because Americans never took those truths for granted. In the

Coal may have played an integral role in turning the U.S. into the world’s top economic superpower, but President Obama is actively pushing China, India and other emerging economies to ignore the fuel that powered the Industrial Revolution and instead embrace renewable sources favored by those on the political left. As part of his passionate push on climate change, the president recently implored developing countries to “leapfrog” old energy sources, which are the primary drivers of carbon emissions. So far, however, there’s little evidence those countries intend to listen to Mr. Obama, with China’s coal consumption, for example, skyrocketing and

The Obama presidency has unraveled. The man who liberal political commentators once said was the rhetorical match of Lincoln is now considered by one-third of Americans to be the worst president since World War II, according to a new Quinnipiac University National Poll. (The span covers 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies.) The same poll found that 45 percent of Americans say the nation would be better off if Mitt Romney had won the 2012 presidential election, while only 38 percent say the country would be worse off. Another poll–this one from the Gallup organization–finds that in his sixth

A charter plane believed to be carrying immigrants arrived this evening at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field, apparently from Texas. Three Homeland Security buses arrived a few minutes later, trailed by numerous law enforcement vehicles. There is no information as to the buses´ destination. Earlier this week, federal officials said that 140 immigrants who had been detained crossing the border in Texas would arrive Friday. But since the blockade by protesters Tuesday at Murrieta, officials have declined to provide information about the movement of the immigrants.

WASHINGTON-- First ladies typically avoid getting into public scraps, but Michelle Obama has jumped into perhaps her biggest battle yet. She´s fighting a House Republican effort to soften a central part of her prized anti-childhood obesity campaign and she says she´s ready "to fight until the bitter end." The Obamas have spent over 44 million dollars in taxpayer money on travel and vacations. Some are even calling him the “most well-trvaeled, expensive” president in our nation’s history. As Americans head off for the long holiday weekend, let’s take a look back at some of the president’s holiday spending. Our president vacations a lot — we’re talking $44,351,777.12 worth of “a lot,” with most expenses charged to the American taxpayer. As of March 2014, Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other president, taking 31 trips since assuming office in 2009. The 119 days spent overseas have

He argued that the system must be retooled for the U.S. to remain the greatest nation on earth. "The basic idea of welcoming

No, not a chronically low labor participation rate, not an economic recovery which often looks more like a recession, not the renewed aggression of great powers like China or Russia, or the collapse of smaller powers in Central America and the Middle East. Taking to the pages of Politico Magazine, Purdy warned in stark terms of the real problems facing the country.
