A bogus claim that electricity prices
will ‘nearly double’ because
of clean coal technology

Washington Post, by Glenn Kessler

Original Article

“Hear that? … That’s the sound of people opening their electric bills to discover they’ve nearly doubled. … An 80 percent cost hike? That’s something we better get used to if extreme new Obama administration power plant regulations take effect.” — radio ad sponsored by the National Mining Association regarding Environmental Protection Agency regulations on new coal-plant carbon emissions. This is a case study of how a trade group takes a snippet of congressional testimony and twists it out of proportion for political purposes. In a radio ad and in print advertising (“Ready for 80% Higher Electric Bills?”), the National Mining Association

Kessler is at it again.
The doubling of electricity prices is a promise which I expect Obama to keep.
He has to keep all his green campaign workers, after all.
Oh, well.
We will live in the cold and the heat, like it or not.
That is the New World Order.

Our electricity bills have gone up over 50% in the past six years--with less kwh used. That´s without them trying.

If the Democrats are for the "little guy", I´d hate to see what it´d be like if they were against us.

The claim is true. Applying clean coal tchnology, it takes twice as much energy to generate the same amount of power.

That addiional energy is used in an air separation plant to get pure oxygen so the coal can be burned in a pure oxygen atmosphere. Resultant pure CO2 can then be sequestered in a deep aquifer or piped to an oil field and injected to improve oil recovery.

As far as I know there are no full scale sequestration plants in existence so the feasibility is still theoretical. Even if the CO2 issue is resolved there is still the air toxic rules, the particulate rules, and the cross state transport rules to deal with. And the EPA rules are only good for as long as the environmentalists don´t want to take another bite out of the apple. I don´t imagine anyone would support building a coal fired power plant as long a Obama and his cronies are still in power. Its going to take a long time to cleanse the EPA of his people.

If anyone believes that the politically well off will ever pay more for their electricity, then they need to wake up. We aren´t in the Hunger Games, but continuing to let the totalitarian Democrats run the country will eventually get us to it.

The skyrocketing price of coal-sourced energy is all part of the plan. It is far easier to escalate the cost of coal-based energy than it is to get the true cost of ´green´ energy down to palatable levels. Also as the price of coal-sourced energy rises, there is less pressure to improve ´green´ technologies by making them more efficient and less expensive. Eventually energy costs will be high no matter the source.

When the sheeple start screaming about what it costs to heat their homes, Zero and his cadre of communists will happily nationalize the energy industry. Then your choice will be vote liberal or freeze.

If the libs stay in power, they will make it illegal to buy these things. Stuff grandfathered in will get confiscated also, but not for a few decades.
