The Real Extremists Are Being Exposed

Since when did it become “extremist” to be pro-life, pro-family, and pro-marriage? On May 10th I wrote an article entitled “Anti-Christian Activists Will Defeat Themselves.” Within days, my thesis was being confirmed. Last week, Martha MacCallum, sitting in for Megyn Kelly on Fox, hosted a heated exchange between Dana Loesch and Democrat strategist Jessica Erlich “about the Benham Brothers being discriminated against for their Christian beliefs by SunTrust Bank, which had announced that they were cutting business ties with the twin brothers.” (Suntrust reversed its decision 24 hours after dropping the Benhams, with apologies.) Erlich began her comments by saying, “What I find

Comments:
I happened to see that exchange with the disgusting Jessica Erlich and was screaming so loud at the TV I scared the cats. She is another Democrat hack who makes completely untrue, absolutely outrageous comments. In addition to being obnoxious she sounds like Minnie Mouse with sinus congestion.

‘Knockout game’ suspect chased

A Brooklyn fare-beater allegedly punched a young woman in the face while apparently playing the “knockout game” in a Manhattan PATH station — and her friend chased him down, put him in a chokehold and forced him to apologize, sources said. Ibrahim King, 36, allegedly slugged 21-year-old Elizabeth Mejia, breaking her orbital bone, in the Ninth Street station around 3:40 a.m. Sunday. “He looks at her for a very short moment and then he pulls his right fist back and lunges across the railing and punches her in the face,” said Mejia’s friend Steve Sala. Sala chased and grabbed King, then put him

Double takes as Lewinsky comes

Monica Lewinsky is back on the social scene after breaking her 15-year silence about her affair with President Bill Clinton. Lewinsky, wearing a conservative but girlish pink and black lace dress, showed she no longer wants to stay in self-imposed hiding by attending a high-profile Manhattan event Thursday night, the Kitchen Spring Gala Benefit at Cipriani Wall Street. Lewinsky, 40, arrived at the gala with Vanity Fair’s editor of creative development, David Friend, who has been a longtime confidante and persuaded her to pen her essay “Shame and Survival” in the magazine’s June Issue. Sources said Lewinsky had wanted to

Flashback: Democrats Argue VA´s
Success is Proof Obamacare Will Work

In a number of our VA scandal posts (the number of facilities under investigation has swelled to 26, by the way), we´ve advanced a perfectly obvious political point: The bureaucratic corruption and abuses now coming to light ought to serve as stark warnings against expanding single-payer healthcare in America. If government apparatchiks can fail our combat veterans this badly -- in a limited-scope, government-run program that virtually all Americans support -- what possible justification is there for foisting this failing model onto the entire country? Care is being rationed and withheld. Backlogs have grown much worse, despite big budget increases.

Open the Books — a good government and transparency-minded watchdog organization — does exactly what their name implies, and discovers that taxpayers showered officials at seven embattled VA locations with nearly $9 million in bonus pay between 2011 and 2013: Now, at least seven VA centers are being investigated for “secret” waiting lists. Here are the bonuses into these troubled facilities (2011-2013): 1. Edward Hines, JR Hospital, Cook County, IL ($4.1356 million) 2. Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL ($575,400) 3. New Mexico VA Health Care System Albuquerque, NM ($2.646 million) 4. Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System Home, Biloxi, MS ($247,103) 5. Miami VA

The sprawling Palm Beach estate which the Kennedy clan migrated to when winter became too chilly in Washington can now be yours for a cool $38.5million. It Florida mansion was nicknamed the ´winter White House´ when President John F Kennedy, First Lady Jackie and their children came down for presidential holidays. The home was first purchased by JFK´s father Joseph Kennedy in 1933. Back then, the 11-bedroom Mediterranean Revival home cost just $120,000. The home, set on two acres, was built in 1922 for the Philadelphia family who owned Redman Wanamaker stores. They named the home ´La Guerida´ - the

San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro, a rising star in the Democratic Party, will get most of the attention at the White House Friday afternoon when President Barack Obama announces him as the new choice for secretary of Housing and Urban Development. But Shaun Donovan, the outgoing HUD secretary, will be the one with more power during last two-and-a-half years of President Barack Obama’s time in the White House. Donovan, the nominee to take over the Office of Management and Budget, won’t have a huge public profile, but will be key in shaping Obama’s legacy and advancing a progressive agenda through federal

As a crisis engulfs the Department of Veterans Affairs over allegations of wrongdoing at VA medical centers across the country, Miami’s VA Hospital has come under fire from one of its own: a longtime employee and police detective, who alleges that some patients are dealing drugs, others are being physically abused — and administrators are covering up the problems. Thomas Fiore, a VA law enforcement officer who was reassigned to clerical duties in February, said he has repeatedly reported to superiors incidents of drug dealing among patients, evidence of physical abuse of patients, and other potential crimes. WASHINGTON — Federal employees owe a total of $3.3 billion in back taxes to the federal government, according to Internal Revenue Service data released Thursday. In all, 318,462 federal employees owed back taxes as of last Sept. 30 — an increase of 2.6% from the previous year. That puts the average tax bill at $10,391, according to IRS data obtained by USA TODAY under the Freedom of Information Act. But federal workers are better at paying their taxes than the average taxpayer. Their delinquency rate of 3.19% is far lower than the 8.7% for the population at large. Some federal

Assuming the role of Tourist-in-Chief, President Obama today became the first sitting U.S. president to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. The president toured the museum in Cooperstown, N.Y., with hall-of-famer Andre “The Hawk” Dawson, checking out Jackie Robinson’s jersey and Babe Ruth’s bat as well as the ball thrown by President Taft for the first-ever presidential first pitch. Obama donated to the museum his own piece of presidential history: The jacket he wore when he threw out the first pitch at the 2009 All-Star game. He did not, however, donate the infamous “mom” jeans he wore to that game.

A blistering internal review has revealed that an Air Force security team botched a training exercise last summer that simulated an attack on a nuclear missile silo, prompting expanded training to prepare for the possibility of a real attack. A senior U.S. defense official confirmed the details of the report to Fox News. The report was first obtained by the Associated Press through a Freedom of Information Act request. The review said the security forces were unable to speedily regain control of the captured silo during the exercise at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, calling the failure a "critical

President Obama is taking a swipe at the Founding Fathers, blaming his inability to move his agenda on the “disadvantage” of having each state represented equally in the Senate. At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population. “Obviously, the nature of the Senate means that California has the same number of Senate seats as Wyoming.

North Carolina restaurant The Pit was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday. Normally, local crime stories like this wouldn´t merit a Townhall post, but this one is different: The Pit has a "no weapons" sign displayed prominently on its door declaring the restaurant a gun-free zone, and bans patrons from carrying concealed weapons. Authorities said just before 9 p.m. Sunday, three men wearing hoodies entered the restaurant through the back doors with pistols, and forced several staff members to lie on the floor. The bandits assaulted two employees during the crime, but they were not seriously injured. What groups like Everytown for Gun
