The VA scandal will stick with
the Obama administration

Washington Post, by Michael Gerson

Original Article

Why do some political scandals stick while others fade? The level of media obsession seems to rise and fall as mysteriously as the stock market. On Benghazi, sell. Hold on the IRS audits. On the Department of Veterans Affairs scandal, buy, buy, buy. In the broader scandal market, fraud or criminality helps. Political intrigue is a plus. Sexual content increases attention but may eventually seem pathetically human and excusable. Conservatives are convinced that the liberal media are harder on Republicans. There is a natural human tendency to attribute good motives to people with whom you agree — and corrupt motives

Just wait until the IRS gets full control of health care. They´ll make the VA look like a bunch of amateurs.

I think this will "stick" because there are so many VA hospitals, and so many veterans who will be able to come forward with their stories.

If Obama will not fire Shinseki, then the GOP House members should initiate impeachment procedures. This would provide hearings that could help get to the truth about the problems at the VA. Someone needs to be held accountable.

Let the trickle of stories become a waterfall and everytime you hear another tale, remember it because it will be your future or your loved ones future under Obamacare. Government is not capable of managing anything but theft, fraud and waste. To a bureaucrat, you are to be managed in the best way to insure that he/she will receive a bonus. Much like politicians, bureaucrats are expert at scamming the system for personal gain with little regard for people´s lives. If VA medical care is good enough for our vets, then it is darn well good enough for our politicians. Make them live by the laws and policies they foist off on the rest of us. At least veterans earned their care unlike our pampered politicians who receive nothing but the best care available.

FTA: "But this approach implies a certain amount of contempt for the journalists who are expected to carry the message. Even the most pliant among them wants some scraps of credibility mixed in their feed."

No they do not. They want to bow like slaves, lick his feet and admire his pants creases into the foreseeable future, with few exceptions. This is why the media are worth all the contempt the Obama regime - or anyone - wants to give them.

Liberals do what they always do when their incompetence becomes public knowledge: LIE, throw some low ranking order taker under the bus, express outrage that it could have happened, appoint a committee of Democrats and RINOS to investigate, then back to doing exactly as before. Our knee-padded media will never follow up on anything even remotely negative towards His Majesty, King Obama, so it works every time.

I think #3 is on to something. The House has whiffed its chance on the Lerner Contempt / IRS issue because it does not have the courage to use its inherent power. Impeaching Obama or Holder would be disastrous because the race cards would come out of the deck at the speed of light and it would play into the Progressives´ mantra of victimhood for POTUS and AG as courageous minority office holders. But, Gen. Shinseki is a wholly different matter. The House could pass articles of Impeachment and the Senate could hold a trial. It´s a stretch to think that those who would hold the VA Secretary responsible for this awful mess could muster 67 Senate votes. Still, the hearings and the trial would generate a ton of evidence, all of it likely to shine a light on VA (and by extension single-payer) incompetence in providing healthcare. No one could criticize the GOP for wanting to hold someone responsible for this homicidal incompetence directed at Vets. If the Senate convicts with 67 votes, great. If they fail because 30 + Progressives vote to retain the Secretary, it would be a blood bath for the left in the next two years. Frankly, if the House votes to Impeach, the Secretary will probably resign before the Senate could hold a trial.

Now that history has been re-written to portray discoverers and founders as greedy, self-serving, racists; next our military training overrun by political correctness, followed by security threatening cuts to budgets/personnel, and now the VA nightmare mistreatment of veterans in need of medical care, where is the incentive for anyone to enlist to protect a country "uglified" by self-serving Socialists/Communists?

This all seems more like a calculated decision to destroy a nation. No other explanation seems to fit.

Nothing will happen with the VA scandal. Like all the other scandals Obama will make a speech touting his outrage then walk away from it.
Obama will serve his eight years as spokes person for the communist he leads then move on.
Hillary Clinton will become the next CIC to continue the destruction of America. The Republicans are the party of clueless dummies who will secure the win for Hillary.

Despite Gerson´s optimism, the rest of the WaPo staff will gleefully use this as a "wag the dog" issue to divert attention from the upcoming Benghazi hearing. Of all the scandals, this one they think can entangle George Bush in too.

The media´s coming narrative: Bush caused it and poor Obama has just been trying to fix it. Yes, maybe too slow, but at least he has been trying. Certainly more than Bush and Congress did. Watch.

Tragically, it took massive veteran hospital VA deaths to start what is becoming a whistleblowing gold rush of more whistleblowers rushing to the dead press and waking them up from their communist censoring sleep.

The communist driven, blinded, censoring networks cables, dying newspapers have all been dominated by The Party Line (also known as The Communist Party Line), where everybody must all say exactly the same thing. You know, the way Diane Sawyer, Steve Pelley, Brian Williams, ALL SAY EXACTLY THE SAME THING!

Robot news actors preaching to robotized LoFo viewers.

But the VA crimes have erupted like volcanoes all over America. It isn´t just four families of the Benghazi victims, it´s HUNDREDS of families, maybe thousands, all erupting from all over America. For the first time, so many whistleblowers with easily proven evidence, DEATH, that Government and media forces can´t shut them up, can´t pay them off, can´t make them disappear, ca´t kill them!

It´s the start of something that will save America.
This horrifying preview of single payer FORCED medicine will kill obamacare. Even the stupid can now see the evil of tax armed, prison threatening Medicine.

Despite complaints by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki that the United States has been slow in its delivery of F-16 fighter jets, no Iraqi pilot team has qualified to fly the aircraft in combat and none will be ready before mid-August, according to an official at the U.S.-based program where the pilots are being trained. That problem is one of many the Obama administration is confronting as it tries to speed more equipment to the Iraqi air force to help it defeat the Islamic insurgency engulfing the country. The three female justices of the Supreme Court sharply rebuked their colleagues Thursday for siding with a Christian college in the latest battle over providing women with contraceptive coverage under the Affordable Care Act, saying the court was retreating from assurances offered only days ago. In a short, unsigned opinion, the court said that Wheaton College in Illinois, at least temporarily, does not have to comply even with compromise provisions in the law that the college says still violate its religious beliefs. Justice Sonia Sotomayor said the action cast doubt on the very accommodation the court’s majority seemed to endorse

The federal government launched a major public relations campaign Wednesday to try to urge Central Americans not to send their children to the U.S. as illegal immigrants, vowing to press that message through radio ads and billboards in those countries and interviews with Spanish-language press in the U.S. The billboards tell parents it’s not true that their children can get papers signifying legal status in the U.S. — an attempt to push back against the prevailing belief among some in Central America that if they can cross the U.S. border, they can stay. “I thought it would be easy for

The United States added a stunning 288,000 jobs last month, sending the unemployment rate down to 6.1 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average shooting over 17,000 for the first time. June’s job numbers marked the fifth straight month of job gains over 200,000, the best stretch since the 1990s tech boom. A Bloomberg survey of economists expected an increase of 215,000 jobs in June. The unemployment rate dropped .2 percent to 6.1, the lowest since September 2008.
