White Teacher Says He Helped

An educator who helped write Common Core standards said Monday that one of the reasons he contributed to the curriculum was because he is a privileged as a white man. Dr. David Pook teaches at The Derryfield School and Granite State College. He served a panelist at a forum hosted by the New Hampshire Institute of Politics to discuss the pros and cons of Common Core. “The reason why I helped write the standards and the reason why I am here today is that as a white male in society I am given a lot of privilege that I didn’t

Privileged?? Not even close! I will be honest...I got into the college of my choice because I said I was Hispanic (which technically I am because I am half Spanish). I had very good SATs but my GPA could have been better...I just didn´t apply myself as hard as I could have at the time. When I tried to change my "ethnicity" to Caucasian, they wouldn´t let me. I made up for it when I went to college--worked hard and went on to grad school. But it was clear that they used that as part of the criteria for accepting me. If I had started out saying I was white, I most likely would have had to make up a couple grades in junior college first before being accepted. So, the truth? I was more privileged when I wasn´t simply "white".

I fail to understand how benighted liberals can continue to cry "White Privilege" when the most incompetent, unqualified nincompoop in the history of the presidency was advanced and given the privilege of the highest office solely on the basis of his skin color. OP is right: Such liberals are unhinged, sick, and deranged.

Laura Ingraham told Bill O’Reilly her immigration plan tonight, which includes deportation of every illegal immigrant in the country by the thousands, not only sounds “draconian,” but would have significant negative consequences for the Republican party in the near political future. He said, “I do believe that if you do have mass deportations and, you know, the rental agreement stuff, that the Republican party would become obsolete, that you would ensure Hillary Clinton‘s election in 2016 because the demographics don’t add up.” Ingraham told O’Reilly he’s “adopting the argument of the left,” but O’Reilly insisted that “mass deportations would be draconian”

The White House is not planning to reassess its strategy for handling thousands of unaccompanied minors streaming across the border amid mass protests. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said he had not spoken to President Obama about protests in California that blocked buses full of immigrant detainees from reaching a processing station. But Earnest said there was no expectation of changing strategies to deal with the flood of minors "at this point.” "At this point, what we´re focused on is making sure that we can ramp up the resources that are necessary to meet this growing need," Earnest said. WASHINGTON – A federal watchdog group said Wednesday that the National Security Agency’s data collection and surveillance program has been “an effective tool” for the country. Seven months earlier, the same bipartisan group found fundamental flaws with another program, arguing in a January report that the NSA’s collection of domestic calling records “lacked a viable legal foundation” and recommended that it be shut down. But the latest report, voted on by the five-member board, found that the NSA´s collection of Internet data within the United States passes constitutional muster and employs "reasonable" safeguards designed to protect the rights of Americans.
